We have lived in our house for almost 9 years. I have neglected our asphalt driveway. I know better…read morebut I didn't want to have to deal with it. It has a large crack in the middle and it is starting to alligator in some spots. I watched a few videos on how to seal my own driveway and it seemed pretty easy. I priced out what it would cost with materials and of course my time is free. Before I did I wanted an estimate to see how much I would save. I emailed Doctor Asphalt on their website and waited for a response. Jake replied to me the next day. I was really surprised. I didn't even check that email account for a couple of days because I didn't think he would respond so fast. He asked me a couple of questions and I responded. Again he replied right away and I didn't check the account for a couple of days. When I did reply again he said he could do it right away and had an estimate waiting in my inbox. Boy was I surprised by the dollar amount. It was only $100 more than I could do it myself. I was skeptical but I thought what is the worst that could happen. I set up the appointment on a Monday afternoon. When I got home from work my driveway was done and it looked beautiful. All the patching was done and crack filler in place. The sealer was a nice even coat with no thin spots. I was totally impressed. Jake's team filled all the cracks and he did an extra good job where the asphalt meets the concrete at the garage. He knew I had issues there but I didn't want to pay for extra asphalt right now to fix it because I have a concrete step that needs to be fixed first. He put in extra crack filler and evened it out so it looked good and sealed the crack between the driveway and my garage. Now the ants and bees can't make a home under my garage. I know you can drive on it in 36 hours but I decided to wait 3 days. Boy am I glad I did. We have driven on it for two weeks now and it still looks new. My whole experience with Jake has been great. My only regret is I didn't meet him in person. Our entire interaction was over email. We never even talked on the phone. I highly recommend Doctor Asphalt. As I wrote earlier, my time is free. Jake showed me that my time is precious. What took Jake a couple of hours would have taken me all day and I would have had soar muscles and back. He let me enjoy my time with my family instead of in the driveway getting covered in tar and having to wash up with gasoline. Thanks Jake!

Great work and great people…read more We have a newer home (2 years old) and during this last wind storm part of our ridge vent shingles came off the roof. We called the roofing company that built our house...crickets. Not even so much as a call back to say they were busy. With rain coming up, and after 4 days of trying to reach the original contractor, we called Rodriguez Exteriors. Rodriguez Exteriors answered the phone with a real human. Orlando was responsive, honest, fair and was out the same day to give us a quote to repair our roof before the rain that was forecast. They did a physical inspection, took plenty of pictures and clearly explained what happened, likely reasons why it happened, and went through options for us as to what can be done. In the end, it was discovered that three factors caused the issue. The wrong ridge vent was used, the wrong nails were used (too short of nails were used for ridge cap usage), and lastly the nails were driven most of the way through the shingles at installation so when the shingles came up they broke through the shingles. Rodriguez Exteriors was very diligent about using the appropriate materials, oem recommended products and installing everything in a professional and proper manner. The work was exemplary and had it not been a holiday weekend, I would have had them replace the ridge vents on the rest of the house on the spot. We will be scheduling them back to do so. When the team was done with the replacement, everything was cleaned up. It looked amazing, and was done correctly. Thank you Orlando and team for getting us repaired and back to water-tight again. No one wants to call for roofing repairs, let alone on a 2 year old home. But the one good thing that came out of this was that we found Rodriguez Exteriors. A family run, honest, trustworthy and responsive contractor. We will highly recommend them any day!

We had met with a half dozen other firms regarding replacement of a deteriorated, timber-lined hillside path to the lakefront. There were significant challenges due to slope, established trees, and limited site access. We also wanted the new path to be integrated and consistent with the existing landscape. At our initial meeting with Joe, we were impressed by his enthusiasm, creativity, and attention to details. We worked with him for about six months to refine the design, address permitting issues and select materials. Joe was always responsive to requests, offered constructive recommendations and enhanced the project design. Beyond replacing the path, we added a patio and seating area. The project took four weeks to complete in the fall of 2023. Joe's crew was exemplary - they were talented craftsmen - expert hardscape installers who worked hard all day and were mindful of neighbors' concerns - which were very few.
