Armand came on time for the appointment initially to perform chimney sweep, but later he discovered other areas of my chimney that needs to be repaired. His assessment was honest, and his prices are very reasonable for the amount of work he did. Lastly he gave valuable advise that saves me from spending money needlessly on cleaning my dryer vent. We've used several different chimney sweep companies over the past twelve years, and none can compare with Royal Chimney Sweeps. Armon was pleasant to work with. I was a little upset that he did not know that the damper would not fit my current chimney cap before hand. So I had to purchase a different cap, which he conveniently had in stock. That's something we could have discussed prior to the appt. The mounting of the damper pull is also a little flimsy. He did say however, if it ever became a problem, he would come back and fix it. The chimney is old, but I imagine there could have been a better mounting job. I needed to have a bee hive removed from a flue. Spoke to Arman and scheduled cleaning for two chimneys. He quoted me over the phone and we set up an appointment. An hour before the appointment. I received a call saying that the Sweep would be late since the earlier job entailed three chimneys, not the one chimney that they were told about. I thought "Here we go! Another flaky business!" WRONG! Harry showed up 15 minutes later than the original scheduled time! He was thorough and professional and cleaned up perfectly. Harry inspected both of my chimneys and then showed me how the caps needed to be replaced. They are both 55 years old and haven't been serviced EVER. He wrote me a quote and Arman called me later and we went over it. I decided to have the work done and it was completed in a timely and professional fashion. I chose Royal Chimney Sweeps based upon the good Yelp reviews and I'm very happy I did. Armon was personable and professional. He and his worker, Rafael, cleaned the chimney - hadn't been done in over 10 years - and installed a new cap and top damper. The chimney hadn't had a damper since we moved in and Armon estimated that we probably lost $400 per year on a/c and heating as it just escaped through the chimney. Yikes. Armon also showed me how to use the gas in the fireplace (I had been too nervous to turn it on) and had me practice opening and closing the damper. I was very impressed by Royal Chimney Sweep's friendly and excellent service. Two guys showed up on time, having called first, and proceeded to reinstall hardware that had come loose and fallen out of our chimney. They then checked the second chimney and made sure I knew how to use both correctly.
