This is our go to take out Chinese place nearby. It has a relatively extensive menu with all the favorites. The kitchen is easily viewed from the cash register and you can often see them butchering meat or dicing veggies. This is comforting so you know the food is fresh. There was also a time when they forgot to put the chicken in my wife's chicken with broccoli. They were very apologetic and delivered a brand new dish to the house along with a refund. They also have a good amount of vegetarian options and they have even made a vegetarian hot and sour soup upon request. They are also really fast. I knocked off one star because they don't really do anything unique on the menu, just good traditional Americanized Chinese food. read more

Fave Chinese place around, delivery is always hot and food isn't mushy by the time you get it

How does this place rate 4 stars? My order: shrimp lo mein with wonton soup on the side. What I received: cooked salad with a few pieces of shrimp and a couple of noodles... COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. If I wanted a salad I'd have ordered from Panera up the street. Don't waste your time, get food elsewhere read more

Food was very tasty and they gave you plenty we got take out it could have been hotter but still a goid meal.

I love Chinese food at Royal Chef the food is good. Lunch Specials are Monday thru Saturday until 3pm. They make a good Shrimp and Broccoli and I love their white rice. They make Singapore Mei Fun rice noodles with chicken and shrimp see I always get beef in place of pork, the rice noodles (Singapore Mei Fun), the chicken, the beef and the shrimp are stirred up in a Chinese curry flavored sauce. I love to order the Shrimp fried rice with four Fried Chicken wings. I love Duck Sauce no Soy Sauce no Hot Sauce. Lovely menu design is original... read more

Just tried the new wings here and they're amazing!!!!! I recommend everyone come try their food. It's amazing

Yesterday for dinner I ordered food to have delivered. The order included 4 chicken wings cooked soft. I bit into a wing and immediately noticed it tasted bad and the aroma hit me too. I called Royal Chef and told the person who answered the phone. I gave him my name and address. He checked the order slip and said I wanted them soft. I said yes but cooking them soft doesn't make them bad. They are spoiled you can taste and smell that. He asked if I wanted them to bring me more. I told him no, I lost my appetite and I certainly didn't want more from the same source. He asked if I wanted them to come and get them. Why? So they can serve them up to another customer. He asked if they could do anything else to make it right and said he would let them know. Beware! Restaurant owners and managers need to do better and Township and State Inspectors too. As for me I will there will be less eating out, taking out and delivery. read more

First time I tried royal chef. Quick and delicious. Keep it up. Shrimp and garlic sauce was very good.

BEWARE I've eaten in this restaurant MINIMALLY 3-5 days a week for 5 years: The GOOD: The food is good, they do this GREAT. No problem there at all in terms of flavor. The BAD: HUGE, yes I said HUGE wait times. I've waited as long as 35 minutes for lunch to be served. Whatever the wait they quote, add 15 minutes. FLIES. Yes, flies. I've fought them many, many times during lunch throughout my entire meal. BAD MEAL: I've had 2 major instances: #1: fly in the bottom of my lunch after I ate 90% of it, #2 a hair after I ate about 90%. Manager refused to give me my $ back after I showed them the bug/hair. They did not even apologise. They did offer me a replacement meal (I assume hair/fly free). VEGETARIAN DISH ISSUES: On 2 occasions I saw 2 EXTREMELY angry patrons complain about meat in their supposedly vegetarian dishes. THEY NEVER EVEN APOLOGISED, however I did see them offer to refund their money (unlike the hair and fly situation in my lunch). HEALTH DEPT: I was dining while they were cited for bugs, among other things. The inspector cited them for open front door/flies. RUDE OWNER: EXTREMELY rude woman. Likes to argue confront her customers. This is mind-boggling. She was extremely rude to me last week after being a faithful, loyal customer for 5 years, therfore they lost my business. read more

Placed an online order an hour and a half ago and I'm still waiting...went up to ask what's going on and they said they gave my order away...this place needs a better pick up system than they have especially when they get busy....they credited 10 dollars to my next order which is nice, but I don't think I am going to be in the mood for some Chinese food anytime soon. read more

Always hot, fresh and consistent. Love this place for Chinese in the area.

I ordered the dragon phoenix it was my first time coming back to this place since 2008. I used to order from them almost everyday when I was pregnant. It only had 2 pieces of shrimp. I decied to give them one more try. the egg roll was good. The sauce was ok. but they do give you big piece of chicken. The one thing I do like ......... you can pick your own amount of sauces. They aren't cheap there . read more

Royal Chef - Chicken and broccoli - Chinese Near Me - Ewing, New Jersey

The General Tso is definitely better than #1 but the dumplings are far worse. The chicken fried rice was decent and so was the lo mein. I may switch my standard delivery chinese to Royal Chef. read more

Very rude. I ordered white rice chicken and broccoli and I was given pork fried rice. Very rude worker never coming back

Ordered there for the first and last time today. The egg drop soup was flavorless, the bourbon chicken was stringy and dry and the fried rice was burnt. read more

I found a BIG bug in my spring roll. When I took the food back to the restaurant, I asked for my money back... instead the owner (I assume) provided the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! She accused me of putting the bug in my food. She accused me of being hard up for money (uh... I pd for the food... how would that make me hard up???) She then called the police (to make them decide if she could refund me). I've never experienced this level of poor customer service in my life. I will NEVER patronize this business again! read more

Great food and the General TSo Chicken and the House Special Fried Rice are consistently good. The lunch specials are also a great value.

Awesome chinese food. Always speedy and every dish I have eaten from there has been delicious. We tried many other local Chinese establishments before coming across this gem. Good eats read more

I order catering size trays from here for parties of 70-100 people. People always tell me the food is great. I can't remember hearing a single complaint. The price is reasonable, come to about $6 a head when you order trays. Can't beat it. I love this place. read more

I ordered from Royal Chef through BeyondMenu, and am very impressed. I had a few special requests (fried rice made with brown rice, all my food cooked in very very little oil, extra veggies)...and the food is PERFECT. I mean, it is EXACTLY what I ordered. The overall flavor of the food is fairly mainline as far as Chinese goes, the delivery time was within five minutes of their estimate, and I got a good amount of food. Combine that with their perfect execution of my special orders, and it's safe to say I'll be ordering from here again! read more

oh my god the beef with broccoli was the best i've ever had! the stir fried vegetables were really good too, and the chicken with string beans was super flavorful. i will definitely be coming back/order takeout from here again!!!!!!! read more

I know most places use imitation crab, but I think if your menu says lump crab meat, it implies real crab. I liked everything else about the food though. read more

Let me preface by saying, I'm a vegetarian. I ordered steamed vegetable dumplings and vegetable fried rice. I bit into my dumpling and looked down and realized it was pork. I opened my rice and it was shrimp fried rice. - so apparently vegetable anything sounds like meat something. Upon pick up, I told the man what I ordered - VEGETABLE- The man read my ticket before he handed me my bag- so I guess vegetable reads as pork and shrimp. When I originally paid, I assumed the prices had gone up- no it just turns out they charged me for shrimp because it was too hard to charge and cook me what I ordered.- I was not compensated for the difference when they brought me my new platter. This isn't an isolated incident. A few weeks prior, I orders vegetable fried rice and they gave me fried rice with one stalk of steamed broccoli and nothing else. I cannot say this enough, I will NEVER order from here again. read more
