Use to be decent but has really went down hill. They just don't keep the place up to well. Haven't been back for close to a year.

En Lai Chinese Restaurant - Cashew Chicken

    En Lai Chinese Restaurant

En Lai is obviously a take-out place, but they have tables in side for those that want to eat…read morethere. I found the staff there to be very kind, attentive, and polite, but like many Chinese restaurants, not overly chatty. They were obviously busy, but took the time to be polite and explain menu items. When I was leaving, they made it a point to say goodbye, and thanked me for coming. I had the General TSO's chicken and wonton soup. The wontons in the wonton soup were very good. The soup broth itself was fine, but nothing to write home about. The General Tso's had a different flavor than I am used to when I ordered General Tso's. That is not to say it was bad! In fact, I rather enjoyed it! I would happily order it again. The chicken was not fatty or chewy, and the batter was nice and light and crispy. This was a good meal for a reasonable price! I was very pleased with my experience at En Lai

They're always friendly. My dad always wants the same thing, pepper steak, fried rice and an egg roll. He said he thinks tonight's was the best he's ever had from them. My mom and I like to try something new. I picked three random dishes and we were happy with all of them. The lemon chicken was not what we expected. We thought it would be like orange chicken except with lemon. It was not but it was spectacular! I also ordered shrimp cashew as a new but safe option. My mom loved it too. The final dish I ordered was the Dragon & Phoenix. I've wanted to try it but am always hesitant in case I didn't like it. It was really good. The only thing I didn't like is the menu says it's shrimp over bok choy but there was no bok choy in the dish. And I love their general tso's chicken that comes as part of it. People who like spicy may not like it as much. This restaurant's food that's marked spicy isn't. (Except mapo tofu, you've been warned!). Overall, a great dinner. Also, they had been charging a 3% fee for using a card so I made sure to get cash out. When someone paid with a card while I was waiting they didn't mention the fee. I hope that means it's not done now.

I ordered China Wok through GrubHub while staying overnight in St Mary's, OH. There are two…read morecomments I need to make - first about China Wok and second about the delivery. I ordered steamed dumplings and their Chef's special - Steak and Scallops. It was ordered through the GrubHub website and I was given a delivery time range, as they normally do. The food was okay, or at least what I could eat of it. When they packed the meal, they forgot to add any utensils. I tried to chase down the "Dasher" but even though I was next to her car waving frantically, she either didn't see me or chose not to. Dumplings can be finger food, but I'm afraid that any Chinese dish in a brown sauce isn't. The dumplings were well made and I did like the dipping sauce. As for the Steak and Scallops - I did try it using my fingers, which wasn't particularly enjoyable. The steak was tender and well flavored. There were ample vegetables in the dinner. The scallops were about pea-sized... I've never seen anything like that before. Typically, scallops are about an inch in diameter? They were kind of flavorless. Without utensils, I really couldn't eat rice nor eat the meal. So, I tried to contact GrubHub. They hid or got rid of their chat function so I emailed and did get a pretty rapid response saying they issues a $5 credit for the problem. We emailed back and forth a few times as I tried to explain I wanted either a refund or someone to deliver something I could use to eat the food with. Finally, the GrubHub rep told me to use their online form for faster service. I did and their autoresponder told me to expect a reply in 24 to 48 hours. I threw out the food. They simply could have contacted the restaurant, had them fix the problem, and take back the $5 credit. 24 hours, almost to the minute, I heard back from them. After a few emails, they won't stand by any sort of guarantee on this. How does a $5 credit solve the problem? As for China Wok, I would return again but would not use GrubHub. As for GrubHub, I don't suggest you use them for delivery from here.
