His attention to detail stood out from the start, he inspected each window carefully before touching anything, checking the hinges, arms, and tracks to understand exactly what was causing the problem. Diagnosing the issue took some time since the problems weren't straightforward, but rather than rushing or guessing, he worked through it methodically until he had a clear picture of what needed fixing. Once he had that, he fixed both windows correctly and made sure they opened and closed smoothly before moving on. I also pointed out three other windows with issues, and Rob fixed all of them while he was there, which made the visit even more worthwhile. He walked us through some helpful information about insulation around the window frames and pointed out a couple of other minor issues worth keeping an eye on down the road. He answered all my questions, even the pretty basic ones, and never once made me feel dumb for asking. The price he charged for all the work was totally reasonable. Rob was professional and friendly the entire time, easy to talk to, and clearly someone who takes pride in doing the job right rather than just getting through it. If we decide to redo our windows in the future, Rob is who we'll call without hesitation. I definitely recommend him, especially since he's an independent local contractor rather than a big impersonal company. Highly recommend him for anyone on Staten Island dealing with windows.

We had a budget, and he helped us keep to it, but he really went above and beyond that. Other vendors told us there was no way to keep the 130 year window moldings, but Turab not only helped us keep them, but had so many neat tricks to improve our restoration project. Other vendors just gave us offers against our project scope, but Turab explained to us the dynamics of different windows in different parts of the house and what types worked best and saved us money. He made custom moldings for our cellar windows. He also helped us out to stop a fly tipping incident one day when we were out and not able to deal with it ourselves. And when it was pouring with rain and our basement flooded, he went outside and took a really long and hard look and told us what the problem was. We got it fixed the same weekend and never had issues since.

Great Recommendation for Palta Construction, West Orange, NJ…read moreThese guys do excellent work. With the heavy rains that we had during the summer of 2021, we desperately needed to have half of our leaky roof fixed ASAP.  While driving through the next town, I stopped to see the work that Palta Construction was doing on another very old house and was very impressed with the care that they showed. I asked the owner Luis Palta to stop by and give me an estimate. He showed up when he said he would ( unlike 2 other roofers who did not). He gave me what I know was a very fair price to replace all of the wood roofing boards in our 85 year old house, some of which were rotten and to put down new plywood and new shingles and flashed the chimney correctly something that had not been done well previously. He worked hard to match the color of the old shingles ( which he did quite well as our original color was no longer made) and got the whole job done when he said he would, he and his guys cleaned up properly and inspected the rest of the roof quite closely. He and his guys were a pleasure to work with. They are a group of very nice and VERY hard-working young men who really wanted to do a great job. Which they did. And, on one of the hottest days of this summer. We will definitely use them for some other long-delayed projects next summer. Thanks Mr. Palta for an excellent job. S. Berman, MD West Orange
