AGM Window and Door - Electric bill from $228 6/2021 to this year after windows replaced ;)

WINDOWS PAYING FOR THEMSELVES Last year we bought our…read moretownhouse that has 20 windows that were 25-years-old and quickly realized that we would have to get them replaced because the temperature in our home was not able to be regulated. First we got a $25,000 estimate from a contractor who was going to use the cheapest windows on the market. Then a $46,000 estimate from Renewal by Anderson, which we almost got sucked into. Finally after much research of window brands and companies we contacted AGM Windows for an estimate. Paul contacted us quickly and came out to show us the window he uses and give us an estimate. He was so pleasant and professional to work with and quickly responded to all our questions. We got an estimate for 20 Okna 600 windows, highly rated, for a substantial amount less than the cheap windows the contractor was trying to stick us with. In addition, Paul worked with the HOA for the approval, so helpful! The installation crew was AMAZING...organized, clean, and communicative. The only reason I waited to write this review is because I wanted to see and compare our electricity bill from last year to this year and boy were these windows and company we choose a great decision. Our bill last June was $228 this June $86...now that's awesome and so is AGM Windows ;)

We have hired AGM Windows three times since 2016: first in our home in Jersey City, NJ; second in…read moreour current home for 9 windows, and the third time in our same home for 5 windows. The first time I interacted with AGM Windows was a bit weird, since AGM Windows' website was hacked in 2016. But since that time, there have been no problems getting to his website or contacting the owner, Paul. Paul is still the owner and still personally shows up to examine the windows and to take final measurements. After paying a deposit and signing the contract, Paul orders the windows form his supplier, and when the windows are ready, he sends 1 to 3 people to install the windows, depending on the size of the order and availability of his crew. It should be noted that these crew members have been working with AGM Windows since my first window order. It is good that Paul is able to retain the crew, since they are very experienced and can install the windows quickly and accurately. The pandemic caused supply issues for AGM Windows, so it might take longer to have your windows ready and window prices have gone up (Paul showed me an email by his supplier announcing price increases). However, Paul and his crew still work consistently and expediently to install the windows once they have them from their supplier. Despite the price increases on the windows, AGM Windows' overall project quotes are still lower than those of other window installers (i.e. the ones that advertise on TV, radio, and your local coupon mailer), and AGM Windows does not do sales gimmicks or sales pressures. AGM Windows is a "no frills" and to-the-point window installer. I still highly recommend them.

Scott came out and took some photos and measurements and quickly provided us with an estimate. Gerald and his crew did the sanding and staining and moved all of the furniture off/on the deck with great care. It looks like a brand new deck. I would not hesitate to reach out to Monk's for our future needs.

I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of service and their attention to detail. Bob Rose met with me to go over the project and make sure we were all on the same page. There were no surprises. Well, maybe just one - it turns out one of the paint colors I picked out was hideous after it was applied. I've never been good with color charts; this was completely my fault. Bob and the job foreman readily let me pick another color, drove to Morristown and picked up the paint and corrected my error without skipping a beat. All work was done in the time frame and price that was promised. The painters did outstanding work. They're skilled, professional, and extremely hard workers. When they were finished, they cleaned up everything so well you'd never have known they were there. I highly recommend Monk's. They're responsive and provide great quality work at a fair price.

My breakfast room window, which is next to the fire escape, has been broken since the day I moved into the apartment. The super tried to fix it over the 6 years that I've lived here; however, it remained broken and dangerous. Fortunately, Altin and Egli, who are employed by A&J, came today and fixed my window. They even went throughout the apartment, checking all of the other windows to make sure there were no other issues. Altin and Egli were kind, respectful, professional and efficient. Their boss, Reggie, who owns A&J called to check to make sure I was satisfied. A&J Window Repair is EXCELLENT. A must for anyone who has window repair issues. Dr. Ramona Brockett

We rescheduled, and then they didn't show up for the next one, nor the next one, an so on. This happened around 12 times over a period of two months! Eventually, the office administrator gave me the direct phone number for her boss, Reggie, because even she couldn't get hold of him anymore. Every time there was a different excuse: he was "driving back from Florida," dealing with "an emergency with an employee in Florida," had to leave "for Florida," and so on. There was always another excuse. One day, his crew finally showed up and installed some of the window screens. However, they had to wait six hours for him to arrive to bring the material. Then we discovered that several of the screens didn't fit because he had measured them incorrectly. None of the large sliding door screens were even ready. Eventually, I'd had enough and demanded a refund for the unfinished work and the screens we never received. He promised again that he would come and complete the installation, even confirming it by email, but he never showed up. He repeated this two more times. Finally, I told him I was done and wanted our money back. His response was to hang up on me! And now, it shows that their business is "permanently closed" and I'm left to figure out how I'll get a refund from them!

I recently hired Ardmore Windows and Doors to replace 18 windows in my home, and while the sales…read moreprocess started off strong, the rest of the experience was incredibly disappointing. To begin with, the sales representative was punctual, knowledgeable, and thorough. He clearly explained all the window options and helped us choose the style we wanted. Unfortunately, that is where the professionalism ended. One of the most alarming issues occurred during installation: a window was either dropped or thrown from the second floor onto my front lawn, where it shattered. The crew made no attempt to clean it up. I only discovered the shards the next day while outside barefoot with my toddler. I spent hours picking up tiny pieces of glass myself. When I raised this with the project manager, he didn't apologize or show any concern--he simply offered $100 off for my "time." Beyond that, the overall project management and execution were riddled with issues. I had to review the order sheet at least ten times because the company repeatedly made mistakes--wrong quantities, wrong styles, wrong hardware. Even after all of that, the final order was still incorrect. I requested that the new windows match the existing styles (e.g., 6 over 1, 8 over 1), yet this was ignored, and we only realized the error during installation when it was too late to correct. They also installed two top sashes in one window and acted as if this was normal. Their explanation was that "owners ask for ridiculous things sometimes," so they didn't question it. This was the only window of the 18 installed incorrectly, yet I was the one who had to push to have it acknowledged. The hardware situation was equally unprofessional. They installed mismatched pieces--gold locks with nickel lifts--because the hardware we selected was "out of stock," but they never told us. When we asked for replacements, they simply handed me a catalog and told me to choose new ones, offering no guidance, even though only one alternative actually worked with the holes they had already drilled. Another major issue involved the window screens. I requested screens for all windows in the original estimate, and this was clearly documented. Despite that, no screens were installed. Their excuse was that "homeowners don't often want to open their windows." After the mistake was pointed out, they installed makeshift screens that don't fit properly and are extremely difficult to remove and replace--clearly not the correct screens for the windows we purchased. The job, which was supposed to take a few days, dragged on for weeks due to unfinished work, installation errors, and repeated reorders caused by their own mistakes. Some of the work is still unfinished. I would not recommend Ardmore Windows and Doors to anyone. Unless you want to act as your own project manager, clean up after the crew, and still end up with results that don't match what you paid tens of thousands of dollars for, look elsewhere.
