i've promoted from this school last month. from my experience, i would say stay out of drama and…read morefights, dont get TOO involved in situations, and what i honestly gotta not leave out is the fact that some kids bring a vape to school. around 5 months ago, my friend and her other friends from A or B track brought a vape and blamed it on my friend. their side was taken, my friends was not. including that friend, me and her teacher in 5th grade said that my 2 friends were trying to impress and get boys, for shirts and pants not dresscodable. the shirts were fine, they are not shoulder showing, belly showing or chest showing. they were PERFECTLY fine. the pants were not too low, they were at the perfect jeans distance. the teacher said that, causing my friend to move schools. some of the fights can be stupid though, one fight was over a boy, the two people that 'fought' were back friends the next day, then those two were arguing before promotion, massing reporting each other, blocking, etc etc. then they go back as friends, acting like nothing happened. the other friend even forced one of her friends to stop being friends with a girl they were super close to. most of the drama can be stupid/really dumb, just stay out of it and you'll be fine. one teacher DID snatch my friends phone away from her, saying shes using it in school, after the bell rang and were out the gates, meaning she was not on school grounds. this school was okay, i've been here since kindergarten, the experience was great but not that great. you'll get snitched if u do bad stuff though. but now, i don't believe you guys should get out at 1:45 on early outs. i get kids are tired, they dont like long school days, but honestly, discipline them more. some kids talk bad about teachers behind their back and the teachers dont do anything. overall 7.8/10.

We unexpectedly moved to the area and had three weeks to look for a school before the year started. We started with another school which didn't work out at all. After we found SPLS, I wished so much that we had found them a lot sooner. First and foremost, the school fosters a faith-filled nurturing environment. You feel this in the core of the school community among the teachers, the office staff, and the administration. They genuinely care about our students and are so kind and wonderful. The academics are top-notch and are taught in a fun and engaging way. Our teachers are not only very credentialed but have amazing backgrounds in homeschooling and years of experience in many other school settings. My daughter came home with math homework once which looked like something I didn't see until I was older. I was prepared to relearn the lesson and teach it to her when she said, "Don't worry. My teacher taught me again when I didn't understand it the first time. I got it. It's actually easy!" This spoke volumes that my daughter would feel encouraged and confident even as learning gets challenging. The families here are diverse. It is a beautiful community where my child shares things about her culture and learns about others. During the summer, my daughter can't wait to start school as she misses her teachers and friends. Fortunately, the school has a summer enrichment program that runs through July. We feel blessed that our daughter was able to get into this school. I have toured 3 private schools and our local public school. Hands down I cannot even compare. They checked off all of my boxes and then some. There is no other school as special as this place has been for us. It makes me feel confident as a parent that my child is getting a solid foundation. Thank you SPLS for welcoming us with open arms.

We…read moreseparated ourselves from Hiram Johnson Main years ago, but for some reason, we're still associated with it. West Campus is its own school with its own independent scholastic program and achievements. This review is based on my experience at the school from 2003 to 2007, when John Becker was still the cool principal and vice principal Howard Mahoney struck fear into the hearts of students as he roamed the hallway with tedious dress-code checks, implemented during fall 2006. The school itself used to be a middle school campus, so it's smaller than your average high school. There's a few hallways and a portable classroom by the field on the edge of campus. Lockers were replaced sometime during 2005. Each class has about 200 students, all of whom must apply to the school. The selection process (which may have changed?) requires recommendations from middle school teachers, an evaluation of the student's standardized test scores, and copies of the standard forms and school transcripts. If you have a sibling already at the school, you have a higher chance of being admitted. The school lacked a football field. Instead, we had a huge baseball field towards the back of the school. Tennis courts were later built. The marching band pwned all :] I loved the music program at the school and it's all thanks to Mr. Ousley and Mr. Hernandez :] thank youu! There are bunches of clubs and sports for extracurricular activities. (I LOVE BAND!! WCMB!!) I adore most of the staff at the school. However, as with most administrations, there are a few disagreeable members :X Like what Kirsten said with her review, look at the college admittance rate for students from West Campus. They're all prepared for success in higher learning institutions.

Each graduating class is about 200 people so it's definitely an intimate high school experience. The teachers really care about the students and are involved in their lives. If I ever (probably more likely that pigs would fly) have children and I'd want them to go to as fantastic of a school as this!

They are so prepared that they basically know the material already....and then some! The staff is super friendly and considered family by the end of the year. I'm known as uncle Pat to all of them.
