I highly recommend entrusting your children with Champions at Helen Carr Castello Elementary…read moreSchool. They have before/after school and summer programs. Champions has a campus on-site at the Elementary school and within 50 feet of the school building. The teachers there drop off the children to their classes in the morning and pick up the kids from their classes after school - even during minimum day! They are a blessing for the working parents. They are highly flexible on when you drop off and pick up your kids. There's a secure sign in and out process that assures no children go home with the wrong person. During the kid's stay at Champions, they work on their homework, receive tutoring, and still have time go outside and play on the playground / grass field at the Elementary School. Champions change programs every week which allows them to focus on something different and keep the children engaged and learning. They feed the kids snacks so I know they never go hungry. The facility is always clean and they communicate any issues or news to the parents. Also, the staff is Friendly and Educated. Champion's cost is above average but their Quality is Superior.

At this particular location their director is who is responsible for why these guys are the best! Mrs. Charmaine has given us such wonderful handling, especially since it is not easy having 5 kids attending. My children love the activities and they are constantly improving them too. My children have met and formed bonds with children of differing age groups and I firmly believe it makes for a well rounded child. If there are money issues with the web site, you just have to discuss it with Mrs. Charmaine and she will be sure to take care of it for you! Schedules are set so be sure to register early! The teachers are selectively chosen, they really do enjoy what they do! As far as the kids, they have fun there, learning how to cook and putting on little shows. My 6th grader just had a promotion ceremony and the little singers are quite talented! My kinder graduated last year and they had a celebration for that as well. They honor the different cultures by having an international potluck. The company must be half way decent if the staff is this wonderful, but the parents were also invited to a corporate event where the president was present to address concerns and issues. They were there to quell the problems and try to find solutions. This place was quite a find and I was relieved to have my children in the best care outside my own! Thank you Mrs. Charmaine!!

I would not recommend this school, largely due to the current administration and principal…read more Leadership is extremely disappointing and has created a toxic environment that feels more authoritarian than supportive. The principal operates with favoritism, lacks transparency, and does not consistently follow the school's own handbook. There are serious concerns about bias and unfair treatment of families, which makes the school feel unwelcoming and, at times, discriminatory. Concerns raised by parents are dismissed rather than addressed, and there is little accountability at the administrative level. Academically, the education is average at best and does not justify the high tuition. For a Catholic school, there is a noticeable lack of compassion, integrity, and values reflected in leadership decisions. Unfortunately, things continue to decline, and there is no indication that meaningful change will happen under the current administration--especially with the principal in place. Save your money and consider a public school or another Catholic school where leadership truly supports students, families, and fairness

It disappoints me on how unethical this school is. The priests are really genuine and relatable. I disliked the way that St. Elizabeth lacked many things in teaching my kids. I think it would be better off to send your kids to a different private school or even public because this school is equivalent to that. They always call for things to raise funds so they can get more money. If you are really hesitant about applying your kids here, in my opinion I would not recommend it.

One thing I find odd though is that it seems that all the schools listed in yelp for EGUSD are simply listed as an Elk Grove school and the name of the school is not provided.

Very upset with the districts new interdistrict transfer policy that has my 2 boys attending…read moredifferent schools. They are splitting families for no reason and don't even care. My older son was given a transfer 2 years ago because my fiancé's mom works at Foulks Ranch Elem. My younger son went to kindergarten in Stockton (where I teach) because we have full day Kinder and EGUSD is still half day. He was soooo excited to go to Foulks Ranch for 1st grade but today, the day BEFORE school starts, we were told his transfer was denied. The reason why? Because his grandmother who WORKS AT THE OVERFLOW school (Foulks Ranch) lives with us fractions of mile closer to Donner Elem. That means his childcare providers address isn't in the right area so even though she works there and his brother goes to that school, he can't. I will be taking my business (in the form of his ADA money) elsewhere. Splitting families and having no regard for the families you serve is NOT good educational or business practice EGUSD. Shame on you. Another district will benefit from my child's good behavior, attendance and test scores because of this policy you insist on sticking to. And how dare you bait parents by making them enroll at the other school and then waiting until the day before school starts so they have no time to make other plans. Cowardly to say the least.
