Dr. Narang, my…read moreregular dentist, was instrumental in getting this whole implant idea started and worked in partnership with Dr. Simpson in seeing it through. For a little over a year now, I've been going to Dr Simpson to have a synthetic tooth installed in my lower, right jaw. I had heard about such procedures before, but it always seemed rather extreme...until I started having chronic problems with one tooth, which culminated in a serious root infection. My dentist (Dr. Narang) suggested I have that tooth out and replace it with an implant. So I thought, OK, now is a good time to try an implant. My dentist recommended Dr. Simpson (an oral surgeon). Dr. Simpson checked the situation out and determined that I would be a good candidate for an implant. Dr. Simpson clearly explained the steps involved in the process. The process to have an implant is rather lengthy. The first step was to extract the old (original) tooth. That went without issue...and without pain. A good start! In fact, I experienced no pain during the entire process. [Note: the process will be slightly different for each person, depending on their circumstances.] After the tooth was removed, we had to wait some time (months) for the jaw to heal and be ready for the next step. Then the hole in my jaw was filled with bone fragments (don't ask where from), which would meld in with my jawbone in preparation for the next step. More waiting... Then the base for the implant was placed into my jaw. [Screwed in, actually, using what looked like a small ratchet wrench.] More waiting... Then, when everything looked good, I was sent back to my dentist to have the crown put on my new tooth stem and fastened into the base. More waiting... Inspected by both my dentist and Dr. Simpson and given the thumbs-up. My new tooth is now in place and feels right at home. No further problems!

Besides Steve's professional, friendly, non-pushy manner, I love the tiny sand blasters they have to clean your teeth. Where can I find all this in SF? After having a bad experience where a dentist talked down to me and did not explain why I needed a filling, then brushed off my concerns about (mercury) amalgam, Steve was very friendly and willing to discuss the pros and cons of allopathic and alternative approaches. It turned out, in fact, that I did not have a full-blown cavity but rather some decay that ended up self correcting, and years later there was still no cavity. However, when the decay started again I trusted Steve to fix it all up with that white resin stuff. Bonus points for riding a Harley and taking photos for local magazines.

Dr. Goodale's office was it from the moment I first spoke to the receptionist Jessica. She was friendly, patient and easy to understand, which is really saying something these days. When I got the the office and sat down with D for my x-rays, she was very comforting and communicative, laying out everything I needed to do and checking in with me throughout to make sure I was good. Then Dr. Goodale came in with great energy and an obvious desire to 1. explain everything extremely clearly and patiently and 2. make sure I was at ease and comfortable. She did my cleaning personally and took my request seriously for caution around certain sensitive areas. She even asked if I was cool with the music they had playing. And then to top if off she gave me the best cleaning I've ever had - my teeth are prone to staining so they were looking pretty rough after a year gap between my last dentist visit. I had even been told by previous hygienists they couldn't do much about the stains. Dr. Goodale got them so white my wife was actually shocked because she had forgotten I had normal teeth. Really can't recommend this place enough I just with that all healthcare providers treated their customers with such grace and empathy, not to mentioned good old fashioned skill at their profession. My daughter was afraid to go to the dentist for a while and now she has found comfort. Unfortunately, my husband has not had the same luck. predetermination information had been request on two separate occasions from the insurance company and to date, nothing has been sent. This has been going back since 05.04.2022. A representative from the insurance company and I called twice while on three way and to our surprise, the receptionist hung up. Now we proceed to call a third time and the voicemail has been activated. My husband has been suffering for months and is in need of work, but it seems we will have to proceed with a new physician and start the process again. I have since filed a complaint with the board of health, the insurance company and BBB. **Update as of 08.09.2022** I was advised by the reception on 08.04.2022 that the office manager only goes into the office on Tuesday's. I left a message in hopes that I would receive a call, and to date I have not. I called the office today, TUESDAY 08.09.2022 and what a surprise, the office manager isn't in!! I was also advised that she does NOT return calls to patient's unless it is a Tuesday when she is in the office.
