I've always enjoyed this theater, we've had a lot of events here and they really do a good job. Today however with Covid I expected to see the snack staff behind the counter to be wearing gloves. The gentleman that was collecting the tickets was asked to go behind the counter and help. He grabbed the scooper which is kept in the popcorn bin filled up our bag of popcorn and dropped it back in the popcorn bin. I discreetly told the Manager and he didn't seem to care. disappointing. read more

Great place to catch a movie. The seats a very comfortable and recline. The seats are assigned which is nice no need to rush for a seat. Tuesdays are discount day. The popcorn is good and a decent selection of candy. This is my go to movie theater. Note the women's bathroom is under going a remodel so women use the men's bathroom and men have to use outside portable bathrooms. read more

Yay!!! A nice theater in Camarillo. We don't have to drive to Ventura or Westlake anymore! When this theater took over the spot that the old UA theater used to be in, my family all took bets for how long it would last. We were not optimistic, being as familiar as we were with the sad fate of the UA. But we were wrong! Thank goodness! The Roxy has lasted and seems to be doing quite well, judging from how many people have been there all the times that I've gone. The Roxy is just plain nice. It's clean, it has stadium seating, it has great sound, and it has helpful and efficient employees. Plus, it is within walking distance of a number of fun snack and dinner options. Nothing better than watching a new movie with your family that costs less than an arm and a leg. My family and I went to watch Man of Steel the Saturday it came out as a Father's Day outing. For matinee for adults, the movie was $6.50 each- what a bargain! Regular tickets are around $8-$10, so you're still saving money by going here. The theater isn't one of your world class theaters with crazy systems and such. It's a solid place to watch a movie, no special gadgets. They have really big screens, and well sized movie theaters, so my family of 6 had a easy time finding a row for us, even if we were late to the movie. While not as flashy as most theater, this was a great place to watch a movie. I would go here over many other main movie theaters in the area! read more

If I have a choice I will come here to watch a movie. It is usually not too busy. They have daily deals like Tuesday $5 movies and free small popcorn on Wednesday. I believe they have a date night special too. The bathrooms are at the front and easy to get into unlike Edwards. They have a rewards card and you can use it each time you buy a ticket and rack up points for a free ticket and popcorn. There is plenty of parking and good customer service! Can't really beat $5 movies all day on Tuesday. Nothing here other than the Tuesday price is extraordinary, nor is anything worthy of complaint. Staff is younger and seem not to care too much about theater rules which gives a laid back feel to the place. read more

Large popcorn and 1 free refill for only $4.75. Compared to Edwards theater, it's a steal. Parking is good and lots of food places in the area if you want to eat something before or after your movie. This is a reflection of the owner. He is one of the few business owners I have seen in a while who cares about his customers first. My wife let him know that the AC wasn't working during the move on Father's day, and was only giving him a FYI in case he didn't know. Not only did he apologize but gave her some tickets. Most businesses don't care anymore about the customer and don't stay in business too long, Ivan knows how to run a successful business and people need to do all they can to support him. Very nice, seemingly unknown, theater!! The theaters are a decent size for such a small place! The seats are very comfy and you get lots of leg room (not that I need it). It is a very clean theater and the staff working there seem pretty laid back and polite. Every time that I have gone it hasn't been too crowded which is also nice. Their snack bar is very clean and presentable. Oh, and did I mention that the prices are more reasonable then other movie theaters in both snacks and movie tickets? Not a major difference but every little bit helps! read more

Tuesday night $5 movies. Be sure to get there early, because, yes, there is a line. Downside to our experience was the young woman txting throughout the movie. Really, you can't wait a couple of hours to chat with someone. And the light from cell phones is so distracting. I go to the theater to sit in the DARK and watch the movie. We love the new recliners and that there is still room to walk through if you have to get up during the movie. Like this theater better than the Edwards, and you don't have to go up stairs to use the restroom! Only wish you could buy tickets online, haven't figured out how yet. We always try to buy from the concession stand knowing that is how they make any money. Someone who posted below said "Eat before you enter LAX prices not worth it." I was just there last night to watch Captain America: Civil War and I can only give it three stars. The price of tickets is great; reclining seats and good movies are always a great pairing. Last night, however, as I walked up to the ticket booth and was in the process of asking a question one of the guys at the counter proceeded to switch the microphone off when I was talking and it was simply the rudest thing I have encountered in my life and I'm a waitress.. Luckily a girl next to them thought my buying 6 movie tickets was important, so she helped me out. I have no other complaints other than the terrible customer service provided last night. Roxy is a great movie theater for those who want to get the most "bang for their buck"... $6 movies on Tuesdays, awesome reclining chairs, and if you plan ahead, you can stop by early in the day, pay for and reserve your seats in advance, and not worry about rushing to the theatre later to find your showing has only front row seating left. ALL the locals come here for $6 Tuesday, so keep the crowds in mind. We made the mistake of not arriving early enough to get good seats for The Big Short, so instead we settled for Star Wars 3D (which came with a $4 additional charge for the 3D) and had a great time. Love the reclining seats! Another thing to keep in mind- if the parking lot is full, since everyone tends to arrive around the same times, try the lot around the back near Starbucks, where there are plenty more rows to choose from. read more

I love this place! Although this place is 8 miles away from my house and there are other close by movie theaters like the one in downtown Oxnard and the one in the Collection, but I seem to always come back to this one ever since I first found out about it. The price is unbelievable! It's just regular pricing for such an amazing experience. I can not get over the leather reclinable seats, I finally can put my feet up during a movie not having to worry if there was someone in front of me or not. There's also a tray where you can put your snacks and drinks which I think is very convenient! And the spacing between seats makes you feel very comfortable because even if a stranger sits next to you, you won't feel like they're getting into your space. They also have $5 Tuesday and that's amazing !!! I love this place read more

At the very beginning, I really thought this theatre wasn't going to last because the workers weren't very knowledgeable, the facilities weren't always clean and the food wasn't very good. However, over the years, their service hasn't definitely improved and I will pick this theatre over the GHETTO Edwards Theatre any day of the week!!! In a way, I would say I'm a little impartial because I love any movie theatre establishment that is within walking distance to a Starbucks (literally...STEPS AWAY FROM THE THEATRE) and has plenty of food selection without feeling too much like a strip mall. You can find Baja Fresh, Tacone and a Thai restaurant in the same plaza and right across the street there are several other places to eat like Subway, Cold Stone and a BBQ place. The theatre itself is great. Reasonable prices (in comparison to other theatres...not what I think we should be charged to watch a movie), the seats are comfy and popcorn is good. I think they offer free refills on large items but I can't remember. They do only have one set of bathrooms in the front lobby, so that can be a little inconvenient...so make sure you piddle before you sit down! read more

I went on Black Friday to see Creed - it was at 7:30 but we wound up getting there around 5 (so we could eat dinner in Camarillo first) because they have a great selection of food in that shopping center and in the one right across from it. Buy your tickets online if you want to pick your seating, especially if the movie is new - Creed's seating was almost full! For 2 tickets to a night showing on a Friday it was $11 each - not bad when you consider that's the minimum price of other theaters in the area for evening showings. And at the Roxy you get awesome seats. I didn't know the seats were plush, leather, reclining (you can watch with your feet up!) until I walked in. It's great because you get two arm rests to yourself and a moveable tray in front of you for your food/water/snacks. Their Tuesday movie price is now $6 (according to their website) but STILL a steal. read more

My theater of choice for indie films is the Paseo Camarillo but this is my theater of choice for the latest Hollywood blockbusters. The sound, picture, and seating (every theater has arena seating) are all excellent. The staff is also very friendly and professional. Amazingly, they are cheaper than the other multiplex in town, which isn't nearly as nice as the Roxy. read more

I like the Roxy. Even when the lines are long, they move pretty well. I never have complaints about the concession stand. All the theaters have stadium seating (unlike Edwards and the independent theater). I guess that's it, I mean, what else do you need from a movie theater? When I go, I like to park on the side and use that exit for a quick escape after the movie. read more

Great family owned theatre! Has comfortable reclining seats. Actually appreciate that they do not have in seat service, sometimes it can be distracting. The popcorn seasoning station is fun. Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT go see a movie here until they fix their HVAC systems!! No HEAT at all!! I wish I could give zero stars but we all know how yelp works, hence the one star. We go to this theater pretty regularly, approx 2-3 times a month. We've always been happy with the experience. To give you some more background of how much we love this theater.....We've even opted out of movies that we've wanted to see in the past just bc this theater wasn't showing it. Needless to say, when we found Roxy theater - nothing else in the area compared. Last Friday, we had a date night. Went to a dinner, massage, and finished up with a movie. We went to the last showing of Annihilation at 10:25 pm in auditorium 7. We were the only two people in the whole theater. It was so cold that we were creating friction with our hands and legs. It probably didn't help being the only two in the theater and not having body heat from other customers but it should NOT have been that cold. As always, we were wearing sweatsuits so I know for sure it was just way too cold for comfort. We were legit shivering!! Several times, I opted to leave in the middle of the film, but my husband was too invested in the movie, and we knew we wouldn't come back to watch it all over again. To add to the miserable experience, when we arrived at the theater, we went to grab our seats and I left my purse in the theater with my husband and took a credit card with me to go buy some goodies - and the workers just looked at me. They said nothing as I approached the concession stand. I finally said are you guys closed or something? They said ya....what theater doesn't allow enough time before closing their stands when a movie just starts. Last showing or not....complete BS. So no popcorn, no drinks, no snacks - and to top that we had to endure 2 hours in the freezing cold. We couldn't run out of the theater fast enough when the movie was ending. We didn't even wait until the credits. We were watching the last few minutes standing by the hallway towards one side of the exits. To make matters worse, I got sick the following evening. A week later still have a lingering phlegmy cough. Good riddance!! Update: I called today to ask what's with the freezing temperatures in the theater and the manager said they've been having troubles with their heating and A/C units for some time now and they are waiting on a part to get their systems fixed. Excuse me!!!! That is absurd!! He followed up by telling me that out of their 11 auditoriums, 6 of them are not working properly. Please be advised, the following theater's currently do not have sufficient heat/air: Theaters 1,3,4,6,7, and 9 So select your movie/theater accordingly. They need to be warning customers as they are purchasing tickets. Totally uncool! And what about the folks buying tickets online...won't have a clue. Bad business. Such a dreadful experience!! read more
