Regency Theater's Santa Paula site has 7 screens. It is in the same shopping center as the Vons. The theaters are relativly small, but have nice lay back seats, and every time I go, no problem getting the seat I want...like all cinemas, buisness is down. The Regency Theater opens it's doors 15 minutes before the first show of the day. Minimal staffing, I saw 2 employees. I think one to sell tickets and concessions, the other to run the movies. The theater was clean, the staff friendly and quick (important when you just have 15 minutes to get your popcorn and into your show!). The seats were big and comfy. The movie was great! read more

The staff here always have great attitudes. Tonight Charisse had a smile on her face and kindly greeted customers as they exited the theatre and she awaited her chance to clean up. This theater has the large reclining seats and they let you pick out your actual seat when you buy your ticket. It's a nice clean theater and their prices are quite a bit more reasonable than most of the other theaters around. On Sundays, all seats go for $5.50, which is an unbeatable deal! Throughout the years, I have been coming to the regency Santa Paula 7 but they have made vast and many great changes from adding more comfortable seating to also accommodate but improve the movie viewing experience. The staff is very engaging and friendly towards people especially if someone had a question say if a movie starts in 5 or 10 minutes and they can answer with a through and clear response. It is very clean and the concessions offered have a good value for what you pay for them, from popcorn to hot dogs snd etc, I recommend this to people with families or friends looking for a good and quality movie experience that is most cost effective but still retains a good quality overall. read more

I can't wait for this place to open again. It's a hidden gem that people either don't know about or quickly forget. I understand it may not be in a fancy location or near great shopping or restaurants but you don't need it to have a great movie experience. The staff is always cheerful and willing to help. (trying to carry all the icees and popcorn can be a balancing act) Prices are really generous! Even on high traffic times they are about half price than most other movie theaters. Sunday's tickets were at $5 each. They recently remodeled and added reclining seats with reserved seating. This a feature that you usually only find on higher prices venues. They are partnered with Atom so it is extremely convenient to purchase tickets ahead of time. Even with the Atom fees you'll still be saving money on what the other places charge. If you weren't aware, majority of their revenue comes from their concession snacks which is why they're usually marked up. Please support them and buy snacks from them. They are reasonably priced and not super overpriced. Location is small so you don't have to arrive super early to try to buy some snacks or worry about having to walk half a mile to get to your screen. The size also adds to that small town charm. Honestly I can't wait for it to open up again. We used to go 2-3 times a month and it's a tradition that we can't wait to start again. read more

This movie theater is small but provides the needed necessities for a movie theater. The seats slightly recline, the snack bar has decent options, the bathrooms are decently clean. My only complains about this facility is that sometimes the volume of the movie is low and this movie theater can get pretty warm and stuffy at times. My girlfriend and I visit this place pretty regularly and she even agreed that it can get a little warm at times. If they upgraded their ac units or just lowered the temperature then it could be a pretty solid 5/5. read more

Santa Paula movie theater definitely stepped it up with their new seating I prefer to watch movies In town now. The customer service needs work. They were all out of small cups for the icys so I asked if I could get a small soda cup for my 3 years old and before I was gonna get one from a employee a young kid named Christopher stopped him and made me pay for the cup as if there was a beverage in it. It's not my fault you guys are out of supplies. You shouldn't make a customer pay for a extra cup. Less expensive than most theaters, there is a/c on a hot summer day, fresh popped popcorn with have it your way butter that you apply yourself from the spigot, a large parking lot, and friendly service. We even made the matinee which is a dollar less. 'Spy' is a raunchy hoot playing in one of the smaller theaters. We enjoyed the a/c while munching on delicious popcorn while sitting in comfy seats with a drink holder. If you buy the large popcorn it is enough for two, plus you get a refill, so not a bad deal. read more

You would not believe what happened to me today! So I got banned from the Santa Paula Regency theater because I spoke up for myself about a mistake an employee made 3 weeks ago. The manager claimed that some of her employees said that I called the employee that made a mistake on my ticket a " bitch." Which of course is false because I did not call her that. Also, one of the employees that said I called the employee a " bitch" was not even present that day. I did not call anyone a bad word. What really happened was the worker had an attitude with me when she was the one that made a mistake on my ticket. She raised her voice at me that day and I was irritated with the worker. I asked her, "What the hell was going on?" The manager did not believe me or even give me a chance to speak. She immediately was bias and picked a side. How is this even fair? Great customer service huh? Then she humiliates me and wrongfully accuses me of saying something I did not say. Next, she bans us from the movie theater. My poor daughter and I were not allowed to watch our movie that day and were issued a refund. The manager told me I was officially banned from the theater. I do not understand why we were treated like this? I did not deserve this kind of treatment. No one deserves this kind of treatment. I felt like the real reason I was banned was because of my race. It didn't make sense to me because this was so random, and there was no valid reason to ban my daughter and myself. When you refuse service to someone there usually has to be a legit or valid reason to do so based off of safety or harassment. I did not threaten or harm anyone. I also did not harass anyone or In danger myself or anyone. I am trying to figure out why the manager treated me this way? The employees are not trained well. Came to see a movie, the parking was packed. We went it was a big line but was only 5 dollar on Sunday . I can't complain the hotdogs are so good and popcorn is good. It is kind of expensive like all other movies. I think the building should be renovated but it was really nice experience. The workers are always nice also. read more

Small, clean and inexpensive theater. Even after a full bag inspection, the attendant wanted me to deposit my backpack to their customer service. That seemed unnecessary since they already saw the contents of my bag. And that is the only reason why I'm only giving this theater three stars. I've been to other theaters that did not have a no backpack rule. I do respect their regulations and will remember to leave my bag at home next time I decide to watch a movie here. read more

I haven't been to my hometown theater in forever but recently went for La Llorona. Not my kind of movie so I didn't much care where we saw it and going to the movies in my home town is super convenient. Staff was great, place was clean and the popcorn was DELICIOUS! So much better then the crap at river park. The seats are old ... like I I'm old and this hurts my back old and the rows are way to close together BUT in the lobby they show they are getting recliner seats! Score ! Love this little theater! My aunt introduced me to it! It's about $2 cheaper than all the other major theaters in Ventura and they play all the newest films! They have great daily specials for food and it keeps the movies more affordable. I'm really excited to have found this spot for family movies nights! read more

Great price! Decent sound. Very comfy and spaces seats. Almost gave it 3 stars, only because this is the only movie theater ever I've been to that doesn't let you go in with coffee drinks, or anything else. They DON'T offer something the costumer wants, they should let things slide like every other theater. This is my favorite movie theater. Tickets are cheap and the popcorn is yummy. If you go at peak hours it can get a little slow because there aren't that many employees. The crowd here tends to see horror movies, which is not my jam, so while those movies may be crowded, there is always plenty of great seating for the comedies/action flicks I go to see. My mom and I have been at all different times of day to see various movies, and we've been the only ones in the theater a few times, which is of course lovely. read more

This place isn't all that bad for being able to see brand new movies for $6.50 as opposed to the three month late showings @ the $3 theater (which I also enjoy). The girl behind the counter was very nice when I purchased my ticket and pretzel with cheese. I was kinda blown away at the price of the pretzel for the quality $4 + $1 for the cheese. Skip it. Just sneak in some of your own snacks purchased at the dollar tree in the same shopping center. Ha ha. Hey this is a recession and I gotta pinch my pennies. Theaters are smaller here and the chairs are a bit rigid so choosing the right seat is that much more important or you'll leave with a sore neck. Overall it isn't a bad theater if you're already in Santa Paula but if not (and if you don't own a bulletproof vest) maybe it's good to wait two or three months to watch the same movies at the $3 theater in Ventura. read more

I love this theater! It does not get very crowded and the prices are very good. This is the place to come if you have a family and are on a budget. The hot dogs are delicious and are pretty cheaply priced as well. The only thing I would NOT recommend is watching a horror movie on a Friday evening.
