I used to take a disabled gentleman to this theater almost every week and it was really great experience. The staff were so nice and patient. They let him take home one or two of the promotional posters and one time a shirt. I haven't been here in a long time and had a great experience here this past week. We had the movie to ourselves. The theater is updated and clean, and they had the comfy lounge seating. The volume was very high for our movie and the staff was quick to adjust it for us, very friendly service. Ample parking in a large shared lot. read more

Always liked this theater but didn't have a great expierence this time. My boyfriend's wallet dropped out of his pocket in a seat, and we didn't know until we made it home. We returned to the theater and asked to speak to the manager, to help us out to find the wallet. He said nothing we could do until 11:30. It was 9:50. We requested to purchase a ticket to go into the theater to find the wallet and he refused service. So unhelpful! His name is Ivan. Ivan told us he would set an alarm on his phone for 11:30 to unlock the door, but then at 11:25 he was not even working anymore. Ridiculous! No help at all!!!! Very upsetting We waited for awhile and we ended up getting very great help from a nice gentleman named Kevin. He was great! helped us find the wallet and was the best. So not thrilled with Ivan. Very distressing and upsetting. He also would not tell us if that seat was taken. He did not even want us in the building. 2 stars one for kevin and one becuase i just liked this theater. Movies with the family. We came to see wicked for good. The popcorn and icee was yummy, I tasted the bob bond oooh they took me back to being a kid. The seats were comfortable. This has been my theater for over 15 years. I have watched the staff change over the years but one thing remains, the smiles. Whenever I have gone here I have never had an issue. My family and I see all our movies at this theater (unless we are traveling or I get out of watching the most recent chick flick). I struggle to think of the last issue I had but all I can think is when I couldn't use my reward card once but it was partially my fault. Maybe some popcorn on the floor but who does that really bother? Now they carry my local brewery and I have increased my family's viewings. The Roxy is a solid movie theater through and through. It's conveniently located right off the freeway and has plenty of parking. It's also in a more residential like area (no big shopping center nearby) so it doesn't get as busy as those mega theaters right in the heart of a downtown or in a busy mall shopping center. The Roxy is not a secret but I definitely sense more locals come to this spot. The prices are reasonable for tickets considering the cost of things nowadays but movie theater snacks will always be through the roof. So definitely eat before hand or then splurge and treat yo self, you deserve it! Roxy keeps the screenings reasonably longer then some other theaters I've kept my eyes on, so I like knowing if I've lagged it on seeing a movie I want that likely the Roxy movie I'll still have it playing past the usual running dates. The service is always fine here, no frills but they get you in and out. Plus it's clean so I'm happy. Pro tip: I don't know how long it's been but they finally serve alcohol here (sorry if I'm on the late train but I don't venture out to movies a lot). I was happy seeing margaritas and beer for under $10. Comfortable seats and a cocktail always make it more likely that I'll come back. I like the Roxy as it's a dependable movie theater. read more

We went to go see Wicked this past Saturday. This place is a general hometown movie theater. The movies being played were updated vs. being some random no name movies. This location also has a small selection of beer and wine which is much appreciated. Snack prices were a fraction of the cost than they would be at a regal or edwards and they even offered a free refill on popcorn and drinks. The reclining seats were very comfortable and up to date as well. My only complaint is the cleanliness wasn't the best. I went to my seat and there was someone else's popcorn in the cracks. Other than that, I would recommend this theatre to others. read more

Grrrr... this place is gross! Don't let the outside and the area it's in fool ya'. I was pretty bummed considering it's in Camarillo. Everything in Camarillo is really well taken care of... except here. What happen? They have alcoholic beverages... I guess this is what people come for and they don't care what it looks like. The place is old and run down. The restrooms are gross with bad lighting and the place feels muggy. The theater to my surprise had recliner chairs. This is probably where they spent all their budget. Please fix the rest of the theater. Some better lighting, new paint, not that muggy feeling when you walk in. read more

I'm not sure what's more scary the movie talk to me or the sanitary standards this theatre has. Almost all the cup holder looks like the photo I've attached. We couldn't sit in the seats we paid for because there was chocolate (or at least I hope it was chocolate) smeared on the seat. You can see fingerprints all over the trays so they're obviously not wiping them down in between movies. I will go back to edwards theatre if I want to watch a movie in Camarillo. Do yourself a favorite and don't go here. It's disgusting. read more

This place has gone downhill fast. When we arrived, there were several people working behind the counter, yet only one line, and maybe 2 people helping customers. The rest were just standing around chatting with each other. We arrived at our seats; mine was broken. The tray wouldn't slide out all the way, so I had to switch seats. Only to my dismay that the other seat was broken too. The leg rest wasn't working. The movie we saw was not properly projected, and nobody fixed it the entire time. You'd better turn things around fast, or you're going to lose a lot of customers. read more

It was fine. The seats were recliner, which for me always bumps a movie theater up from three stars to four. The screen and the sound were fine. The treats were average, I mean Studio Movie Grill chain kinda spoiled me for plain movie theaters, because they serve real meals that they bring to your seat. But this movie theater was perfectly normal for a theater, they had all the regular treats like candy, popcorn and soda. My only other observation is that they don't sell coffee. Admittedly very few movie theaters do, but I LOVE coffee as my drink at a movie - I tend to see matinees. Bathrooms and movie areas were clean. The staff was nice. read more

I really like this movie theater. Although it's a bit of a drive to get to Camarillo from Carpinteria, but depending on the time of day, it's only 35-40 minutes. The seatings are stadium reclining wide chairs with faux leather. It's attached to a tray that's swivels in front of you to place your snacks and drink. The screen size is smaller than expected. I enjoy a big wide screen where you feel like you're standing in the movie. But yet the movie I saw had been out for quite a while and perhaps this was one of the smaller rooms that contain a standard sized movie screen. The popcorn butter was quite good. It didn't taste like just flavored oil yet the popcorn itself could have use a little bit more saltiness. I'm big on a well textured properly salted buttery flavored popcorn. A lot can be forgiven if the popcorn can hold up to that standard of yumminess. This was my second time coming to this theater and it's still a great choice! read more
