I am reviewing Tiffany Allen, Hair Stylist, from Studio 9, in Des Moines, Iowa. If I could give a zero, I would. Here is why. My daughter got married a month ago at a destination resort. I had an updo for the wedding that I loved. I wanted to duplicate the same style for the reception in Des Moines, Iowa this past weekend. I visited with Tiffany Allen from Studio 9, in Des Moines, multiple times. I sent her my picture I wanted to duplicate. She said she could do it. I asked her if she was confident in this updo style, to which her response was "yes". On the day of the reception, we discussed the style with the picture again. Once again, I asked her if she was confident, to which she replied, "yes". Midway through the appointment, I thought to myself that it wasn't looking like the first time. I showed her the picture again and asked for a few adjustments. She still was unable to make the changes. At this point, I knew I was in trouble. I really do not feel like I need to explain any more. I think the pictures will speak for them selves. I will share the picture I modeled my request off of as well as the picture of my first updo for the wedding out of the country, and then my updo I received from Tiffany Allen, Studio 9. I would also like to add, I told her I wasn't happy about her services to give her a chance to apologize. She did not. I asked for a partial refund, and she did not respond. VERY POOR WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS!

They took several smoke breaks doing my hair and my friend's hair. It took forever and there was so much hair spray in my hair it took me a week to untangle and I lost allot :( I have also heard they take breaks to go to the bar next door for a quick drink before continuing with their services. Jaclynn was fantastic and made the experience fun and exciting! She took her time and made sure my cut was exactly what I came for! I got a shampoo and cut for only 37 bucks and it was totally worth it! The music she was playing was right up my alley and her conversation flow made the haircut experience all the better! Axis is super nice and clean! They do cuts, nails, pedi, massage too! Convenient location on Ingersoll and booking was a breeze! Got a reminder text before my appointment too! And I am not saying that lightly! I went in on a Wednesday and asked them to touch up my hair. I had a very gold, ombre color. The hairdresser said she was going to try for a more rose-gold color. Okay. My hair came out pink! Not a subtle pink, but a true-pink! I told the girl I wasn't loving the color and I had expected it to be more gold. Over the night, I didn't warm up to it and scheduled a correction with the salon that Thursday. From the second I got there I have never felt so judged! I was treated like I was a problem client, like they wished I wasn't there and accused me at one point of changing my mind. They lightened my hair and applied more gold but the pink was still obviously there. I was told I might have an undertone of pink but these were uneven and sporadic light-pink highlights! I expressed that I was unhappy because I wanted my hair color to at least look like I did it on purpose. I asked for them to put some kind of light-pink toner or something on the ends so it was at least a unison color. What additionally upset me, the owner said I was changing my mind and they had already done $300 of free services to correct my hair, so they would have to charge me for the toner. When I asked how much would it be the owner and hair-dresser spoke at the same time and quoted me two different prices! The owner said $45, the hair-dresser said $25. I was done and just asked them to finish drying and styling my hair, so I could leave. I was a loyal customer for 10 years, I asked for a easy fix for the fact I was prepared to live with pink high-lights, even though 48 hours ago I had none, I was treated badly, and I was getting quoted different prices. I left in tears and drove home crying! I will never go back! The warning I have too those who decide to go to this salon is that do you want to take the chance to be a client that they screw over and then blame you for the mistake making you feel like garbage? Not worth the turmoil with so many other wonderful salons in the area!
