I'm a sucker for good sarcasm, and this place has plenty of it! From their menu to the decor, you won't be short on laughs and conversation. We came here with my cousin who lives in the area, and really enjoyed it. We anticipated a wait, given it was a Sunday morning, but we sat within 5 mins, so that was an added bonus. I ate the "Country Benedict" (a special on the board) which was a biscuit, sausage patty, over easy egg, and a generous ladle of sausage gravy, side of home fries. Yummmm. Perfect eats after a long night and exactly what I would expect at a place like Roxy's. The hype is real. We stopped here for the first time our first morning in Jackson for pancakes. If you've dined at small family cafes before and enjoyed it this place is for you. If I actually lived in Jackson I would eat here every morning. This is a picture perfect small local diner. The food is fantastic and is mass quantity. My only complaint is they are not open for dinner and they don't take AMEX, but at least I can get my day started off right here. The staff is ultra-friendly and attentive to the needs of the guest. The coffee is perfect, the cup never is empty, and it seems they always know when to give you a refill. I had a simple 2 egg, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, and 2 toast special with a added side of hash browns. The eggs were perfect, the bacon was ultra lean, the sausage while a little fatty was still very tasty and the hash brown serving was massive. The price in this economy is extremely reasonable and I will go again and again until I fly back home to FL. If you do not at least give this place a try then you are foolish and are missing something good and filling, if you eat here for breakfast you will not need to eat lunch. read more

Great food at a reasonable price with quality service at this diner. The excellent home-made corn beef hash and grilled cinnamon rolls currently are my favorites here. There's a great selection of omelets, hashes (the aforementioned corn beef, plus pot-roast, hippie, and Greek!), and a wide-variety of options for mix-in and/or topping your hash browns. (Avoid ordering the Purina omelet on rainy days, as you have to eat it outside, and do read the omelet section carefully for other hidden gems among the twenty-six combinations currently offered!) There is a regular front entrance in front on the street, but as others have noted you can also enter directly from their parking lot through the back; this really seems to be the main entrance for most of the clientele when I've been there. Yes, you do go through the kitchen, however, I think that's a nice plus. Outside seating on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant is also available and perfect on a nice sunny day, though it can get a bit hot until the sun is high enough for the umbrellas to afford some shade, so enjoy it early or later; the place opens at 7am typically, but often opens even earlier on summer weekends. read more

This is a true cafe! Fast service. Great food with fresh ingredients. Seating is a little tight, but that is to be expected in a cafe....right?! The only issue I had was that one of the exits required you to walk through some doors, toward the bathroom, and then through the kitchen. I mean, I actually walked right by where they were cooking the food....I could have grabbed a piece of bacon on the way out. great breakfast, the BACON is so good and they really give you your money's worth, not just 3 pieces. They are not skimpy with the portions and the prices are great. Fun place, the menu is fun to read, and there are funny signs to read all over the place. Love that the ceiling has advertisement that looks like life size business cards. The service is okay, sometimes when they are busy, it's hard to get a refill on a drink or get the check. Stopped in for breakfast. Only down side to this place is that being a bit on the small side seating can be hard to come by at peak times. But stay!!!! It is worth the wait. The menu is hilarious to read. The eclectic Route 66 motif is fun to look at, the bathroom through the kitchen is unique, the wait staff are friendly and the food is scrumptious. The sausage gravy over my huge country omelette was fantastic. My wife had a breakfast melt sandwich. Unique and tasty. My son had an omelet with pot roast. Absolute yummy. My husband and I are from Out of town and we were waiting for the rest of our family. I understand the rule for not seating until the entire party has arrived. But we got there a few minutes early to wait for a table so baby and they were sitting in the parking lot waiting. They wouldn't seat us until they came in. In the meantime a party of 3 walked in and took the table we were waiting for. Bad service for families. Ended up giving out money to a chain with better service. Kind of bummed. The food was good but if you want to keep eating there, don't ever enter through the back door as we were invited to do by a staff member. OMG, the kitchen was small, no surprise but the dirty dishes and dishwasher were about 4' across from the food being prepared. All too close for comfort for us. Okay so I love food. I've been to expensive places like the Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor. I've been to mediocre places that have the chains like Outback and Red Lobster where you know what you are getting and come out on average happy what ya got. But the Roxy Cafe was a rare treat. It's small and you come through the back and go through the kitchen which took me back but the cook greats ya as well as staff as you go out into the dining area and grab a seat. Waitresses take your order in no time and are truly very good at their jobs. The menu is under plexiglass so there's no waiting and you can keep browsing at the plethora of food items well after you place your order. Which because I love food always makes me happy. So we are eating low carb and this was one of our cheat days ( although this menu is so amazing you could totally stick to low carb but the sour dough toast ... ) Anyway I digress. So we cheated today and I had French toast and their hash brown potatoes that are out of this world and because we were cheating had some sour dough toast. My daughter got chocolate chip waffles and hash browns and we got my mother in law the Cinnamon roll which quite frankly puts Cinnabon to Shame. Lol. The food here is honestly the best place in Jackson to eat. Can't wait to come back and try a blt. This is my new favorite place. :) read more

Not sure about the hype for this place. Don't use real eggs for the omelots good luck finding an eggshell anywhere in this joint. Waitress couldnt even answer what came on one of the lunch menu items. Poor service. Dirty, cramped, flies all over the place. Had to walk through the kitchen to get in which only made me wonder how they can pass a health inspection. Food I got was no better than any crappy diner you can find in any small town. This is easily my favorite breakfast place in Jackson. The portions are huge (beware if you order an omelette, they are massive). I've never had a bad meal here. You'll be pleasantly surprised when you get the bill too, more than a good value. A couple of items to try: the McJim is the Roxy's take on the Egg McMuffin, but 10 times as good. The cinnamon roll is a treat, and the cinnamon raisin bread is outstanding. I can also highly recommend both the roast beef and hippie hash. The portions are super huge and the staff is super speedy with your food. Get the hash! No wait, get the huge omelet, no....get anything you want. Everything on this menu will have you coming back for more. Park in the back and walk in through the kitchen - it is a local tradition to come in the back instead of the front door.
