This boutique along with West of Poppy (under the same ownership) are RACIST and highly discriminatory against POC. I have never felt more degraded, embarrassed, disrespected or singled-out in any of my shopping experiences (which are MANY). I came here excited to spend money on clothes and gifts for friends. I was harassed throughout the entire experience and more or less assaulted when a young and clearly undertrained employee literally grabbed a pair of earrings out of my hand after I told her I was buying them and wanted to keep them along with the handful of other items I was purchasing. I tried to tough out this uncomfortable/scary experience knowing I was about ready for check out. I expressed to the un-trained employee how uncomfortable, unpleasant, and UNPROFESSIONAL that kind of behavior is. She replied by blaming it on the amount of thefts they have and I understood that completely, but there where a handful of other Caucasian people who were barely Acknowledged. Nothing can excuse this business from the situation, I was 100% singled out. I made it back to my car and broke down. I decided that no matter how much I liked my purchases ($300+ merchandise), my heavy heart and mind could not support a business who operates in such unprofessional, outdated and prejudice manner. It is 2021, Rove Boutique and West of Poppy, get with the program. You should be ASHAMED considering all Of the current social issues/injustices we experience Aw as a country today. I returned all items and took A video of The experience for my safety and to publicize and create awareness around this issue. Rove is a charming boutique on Calistoga's main street. If you feel slightly confused by the signage, it's because it's got a literal sister store (run by the owner's sister) in St. Helena called Gathered. They're slightly smaller- this is Calistoga. The price range is from the expensive (I saw a pretty shirt, but it was steep) along with affordable journals&crystals. I saw an inspirational book with mermaids. If you're looking for gifts and/or souvenirs, this is the place to go. read more

Cute store, extremely rude staff. My girlfriends and I went into the store close to closing and the women were rushing us out and starred vacuuming. It wasn't even past closing time and my friends were buying clothing. I chose to take my business elsewhere. Felt like the scene in Pretty Women with the rude boutique women. read more

This was my third time in this store. The store has a lot of cute clothing and a great layout but I have not purchased anything from them during any of my visits because employees have failed to greet me, or acknowledge my presence at all. I have worked a lot of retail jobs and simply saying hello to your customers will go a long way, especially in a town with a lot of tourism such as Calistoga. If you're in the area I recommend going to Santa Rosa or Petaluma and visiting Ooh La Luxe, an adorable boutique with outstanding customer service! As for this location, I really suggest stepping up your game. There are a lot of boutiques locals can choose to shop at, unfortunately due to your lack of customer service, I will not be choosing to shop here. read more

My husband and I were in the Napa area in September, and I popped into Rove because their window display was very cute. I have a weakness for casual dresses, and they all seemed reasonably priced, so I couldn't resist. I spotted a few things, and walked out with an adorable dress, a classic white button down shirt, neat earrings, and some adorable sandals (which I pretty much wear everyday). Rove is a wonderful boutique on it's own, but their customer service is what really set them apart...... The dress that I bought was quickly turning into my favorite piece that I own. I wore it twice, washed it, and hung to dry, as the instructions stated. I went to put the dress on last Sunday, and it had shrunk. I was so upset! I immediately looked up the dress online to see if any other online store carried it, and I came up short. So, I found Rove on Facebook, messaged them, and heard back within the hour. I was expecting it to be a long shot that they would have it still in stock. But Jessica said that she would check first thing Tuesday morning. Sure enough, she messaged me back saying that it was in stock, and told me that not only would she ship it to me, but that she would replace the dress, free of charge. Completely unexpected, and unnecessary, as it wasn't Rove's fault that the dress shrunk. I'm still smiling from the interaction, and I can't wait to have my dress back!! This gem of a store is the best. I was visiting Calistoga and went into shop. Found a beautiful pair of turquoise earrings. The sales woman recommended a matching ring- I bought both! Fast forward a few weeks and I noticed a missing stone in the ring. I took a picture and sent it to Rove via Facebook messenger and they very quickly responded and said they would replace my ring. I just received it. This is great customer service and by the way, the store is charming too! read more

I have read the bad reviews on this thread and am surprised. My experience was completely different, so I have to wonder if the staff has changed. I can't imagine the two awesome young women who helped me with my shopping are ever anything but sweet with anyone. I needed a dress and ended up with two and some extras items. One of the girls suggested I also check out the shop two doors down and I'm glad she did; I found something there too. The clothing items in these stores - especially Rove, are very special. There is a lot of Cienna brand clothing - fun, light, and feminine- hippie while still feeling modern. The owner has great taste and an obvious vibe she sticks to making the stores very consistent in feel. And the girls made shopping so much fun. They were helpful, full of warmth and great advice. I don't usually leave reviews for clothing stores, but I was so delighted by my experience and my purchases, I had to smile and wave. read more

Rove is the store in town my daughters and I enjoy most! With a wonderful variety of eclectic options, it's impossible to stay away. More importantly, the Rove ladies greet us with a sincere welcoming each time. Even on their busiest days they're consistently attentive. My youngest loves venturing down there just to browse, the Rove ladies know this about her, and still treat her like she's about to be their biggest purchase of the day. ;) Other stores in town are less inviting/personable with a pressure to buy type of energy - not Rove! read more

I stopped in on my bachelorette weekend with friends and found two great pairs of earrings for myself! I also inquired about jewelry to gift to bridesmaids to wear in the wedding, but said I wasn't ready to make the purchasing leap yet. Jessica made a few recommendations and gave me her card as well as some information on the artists. We then texted back and forth for weeks to put together the perfect package, which she shipped to my friend's house, negotiating all of the complexities of my location, the location of the wedding, etc. Not only is this store a treasure trove of great finds at great prices, the customer service is above and beyond! I encourage anyone who didn't have a good experience with their service (in reviews below) to give them another try. Personally, I hate being unnecessarily greeted in a store, as I'm an introvert. I am giving this place 2 stars because while they do have a great assortment, and as a local I appreciate having quality shops in town, the service is subpar at best. Nearly every time I have been in the shop I have made a purchase, and also nearly every time I have been almost completely ignored by the staff. In the past it was irritating, but today was by far the worst. I went in with my mother in law looking for something to wear to an event, we were very clearly looking and pulling things down and none came over to us or offered any assistance. Mind you, when I come in it's usually in the morning after coffee at my fave bakery and I am pushing my newborn in a stroller and wearing jogging clothes and no make up. Additionally I am not a size 3 and don't look very put together when I go in. Anyway, I was pretty much totally ignored and then the sales staff was primarily paying attention to a group of very well put together women. It's just a frustrating situation because I would love to keep shopping there; but every time I go in, sans the one time the owner was there, there seems to be some attitude from the sales staff because maybe I don't look the part to be shopping there.
