When I came into the store earlier, I could clearly hear employees in the back arguing with one another. The situation was loud enough to be heard from the shopping area, and I found it to be very unprofessional and quite disturbing while I was trying to shop. As a customer, I expect a certain level of professionalism and respect, especially from a local grocery store that prides itself on serving the community. Hearing employees raise their voices and argue openly gives a negative impression and makes the environment uncomfortable for shoppers. Because of this experience, I have decided to take my business elsewhere. I recently shopped at Rouses and found the staff there to be noticeably more professional, courteous, and friendly. The cashiers were polite, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and pleasant -- exactly what customers hope to find in their local grocery store. I am thoroughly disappointed with the experience I had at Nunu's in Youngsville, and based on this incident, I am unlikely to return. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the behavior of the staff to ensure other customers don't encounter the same issue.

The catfish strips were mostly breading and skin, with very little actual catfish meat. Aany meat found in these strips was like finding a prize. The white beans had no flavor at all. It tasted like they opened a can, dumped it into the tray, and warmed it up. At least they gave a generous amount which I was able to doctor up once I got home. I didn't eat the dressing, but someone else did. She said it was cold at least it had some flavor unlike the beans.I'm not sure if this was a one-day thing or it's now something that's fairly regular. But the food was a lot better when I worked in the area about a decade ago. The food at the Grand Point location is so much better.

The ambiance of the store is very quaint. It's your small town grocery, and has been convenient and reliable for decades! Every time I'm in town, my granny needs me to grab something from Hebert's! I couldn't avoid the place if I tried! The service is always pretty good, and they seem to have always leaned toward younger employees who are still in school or recently graduated. I love that they offer young people job opportunities, as they seem hard for people to come by in Breaux Bridge! I love that the store still offers a customer service window that used to help my gramps and granny with checks. They have an ATM as well. The food and groceries are always good! They pretty much have everything you need as long as you aren't vegan or have any sort of gluten or dairy restrictions! This isn't the store for all that! Lol. But they pretty much are a 1 stop shop, and even have a hot bar for hot foods. I remember lining up for their hot food as a kid. Great memories! And yes, they still have the soda machines outside! This place will always hold a special place in my heart, and I'm glad it's being well taken care of.

The parking lot is a little tight and the entrance is really elevated keeping it safe from any flooding being the river is very close - once inside we found it really interesting and filled with lots of local delicacies, we walked over to the meat case where we assumed the plate lunches would be served and was greeted by a friendly employee. Unfortunately we missed the bbq being it was late afternoon and they were doing their clean up and we were told there were a few plates boxed up in a warming case off to the side, they were clearly marked but taped closed and I really didn't want to open them or buying them without seeing what was inside since we had no experience with this local grocer. I noticed there were several small paper bags labeled cracklins some chicken and one marked "rich-man cracklins" so I grabbed one of those thinking it would be a good snack for the ride back. Unfortunately they were not something we were accustomed too, they were very meaty and chewing verses the fried pork fat with a crispy rind we were hoping for and now we know this was a different version so we dismissed them after both trying one each. Although this visit didn't work out like we had hoped the store is very nostalgic and has a cool factor about it and the staff was very friendly and so it was definitely an interesting stop and I'd return when in the area to explore a few more of their offerings...

Don's has the classic gas station setup, a ready to eat counter with BBQ and Cajun options, snack aisles, and fridge full of Cajun specialties. We ordered cracklings, boudin balls and crawfish pie. The boudin balls were the stand out. The cracklings were fresh and crunchy, but the seasoning is underwhelming. The crawfish pie missed the mark completely, not much crawfish, very doughy and the seasoning was pretty bland. We used to love driving here for the ride to get great boudin and spend a couple hundred dollars. Being disappointed, I called and spoke to one of the owners about my "crawfish" boudin and asked if they were experiencing a drought with their crawfish. He replied, no and that they actually put more crawfish in their boudin this time. I'm like sir, no way. I've been coming here since 2018 and I know the difference. There was more rice and seasoning as opposed to what it's advertised as. I mean, honestly, if he'd said yeah, we're experiencing the same 2024 crawfish season drought that has been happening everywhere because of the saltwater intrusion, then I could understand but to lie and deny the difference was asinine. I thought perhaps they have loads of crawfish frozen somewhere to avoid a drought but the difference between the prior year's crawfish boudin in shape, color and taste is very noticeable from the 2024's boudin. Today's boudin looks like red hot links on steroids minus the red color. C'mon, just be honest, sheeeesh! While the truth matters, I won't be back anymore.
