As far as slope side dining goes, it's hard to beat a warm bowl of chili... unless you're a warm bowl of chicken pot pie okrrr! The claim to fame here is the indian food. Sounded perfect for a mid day warm up, but I couldn't resist the allure of a flakey buttery crust. And the chicken pot pie was delicious. Three staff was great, friendly and it was clean and warm. The only downfall was that you need to bring your food upstairs to eat. And while the views were awesome, if you know what it's like to walk up or down stairs in ski boots, then you know it's surely a prediction for spills. There is a small elevator.

They have always taken care of us here. Every year, a must stop! All the curry items are good.

Dal Bhat-split lentil vegetable stew served w/ jasmine rice & naan (pita). Order it! I swear it's good & way better than a burger & fries.

What a pleasant surprise finding a food place that serves amazing Himalayan food on the slopes. I don't know what the deal is with the poor reviews because this place is so good and so reasonably priced. I don't know about you, but I'm sick of eating burgers, fries and chicken nuggets on the slopes. Unless you have the pallette of a 4 year old, you won't be disappointed with Roundhouse.

There are no passenger elevators, so trekking up and down the stairs with luggage without being "climatized" to the altitude is a challenge. It should be noted the staff will assist you with your luggage if necessary. Regarding the location, it is fantastic. The views are incredible; it literally looks like a post card. Although not skiing season, there are lifts (not in operation due to summer) everywhere. I imagine it gets pretty packed and crazy during the winter. Hiking opportunities are everywhere right outside the lodge. We went on a "novice" hike that took us to the top of a mountain like eight miles away. OMG. As part of the wedding party and my officiant duties, there were multiple breakfast and dinners organized by Alta Lodge. The staff was fantastic, and the food was good. Alta Lodge also has a weekend brunch that attracts people from all over the area. The brunch was top notch! Regarding the accommodations, we had a fireplace, balcony, and a view of the mountains. It was a great sight. Our room did a have a bad smell (as did other rooms in our group) that I believe is the result of months/years of moisture in the carpet, drapes, and wood. This is the only thing I did not care for. Only other issue is the front desk is not occupied 24/7, and anyone can walk off the street and into the hotel. I would recommend better security. Overall, the customer service and quality of wedding organizer made up for the two issues noted above. Again, the service at Alta Lodge was excellent!

I immediately reached out to the hotel. long story short the hotel staff strung me along saying that I needed to talk to house keeping because house keeping would likely have thrown our belongings away when cleaning the room. However despite me calling every single day for four days I could not be put through to house keeping. eventually i was given the email address for the house keeping manager who agreed to replace or reimburse me for the item. however she then emailed me back saying that the hotel has changed their mind and will not be reimbursing me after all. Update 3/4/23 I was finally reimbursed! After sharing the state law with them. This has ruined my entire outlook on this hotel. I had previously planned on returning to this hotel on a yearly basis but not anymore.
