Pricey but you get what you pay for. Mountain View room for a few days. Facilities are solid and comfortable. Staff are incredibly nice. Housekeepers apologized for not servicing our room on our last day but they came thru with towel, toilet paper and extra cookies! Location can't be beat, with the main resort building just across the way. The best dining option in the resort is here as well, the Lodge Bistro. Love them complimentary ski/board check back at the main resort plaza too. Also the coffee and tea service at the main desk, even though there are coffee makers in the rooms too. Didn't use it myself but there's a pool and hot tub outside with towels provided. All in, good choice. read more

We had a 1 bedroom condo for 3 nights. The unit was clean and spacious for our group of 4 people. Location is perfect if skiing at Snowbird as you walk straight to the Snowbird Center. We also skied at Alta in which the bellman shuttled us in their SUV. We did eat at the Bistro and had a great dinner. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. read more

Amazing and accommodating staff. Cozy and comfy rooms. We stayed in a 2 bedroom loft style room with fireplace and small kitchen. Clean and welcoming. Enough dishes to cook a meal if you like . We got groceries for breakfast but ate out for lunch and dinner. The lobby has delicious and strong coffee for parents and yummy cider and hot chocolate option for kids. They had a nice selection of free dvds and board games and puzzles to provide for nice family nights. Hot tub was awesome to sit in in the snow after a long day of skiing while kiddos played in the pool. Absolutely loved this vacation. Views were incredible as well!! read more

Dear Snowbird, grown ups don't sleep on hide-a-beds. Generally speaking, I'm looking for three things in my hotel stay. 1. Proximity to my destination. Pass. 2. A clean shower. Fail. 3. A comfortable bed. Spectacular FAIL. There. Was. No. Bed. A full kitchen and dining room, but no bed. Instead I found a ratty old pullout couch that was every bit as comfortable as it sounds. Resigning myself to my fate of a really poor night's sleep and after having wrestled the "bed" out of it's hiding place, I decided to take a shower to relax. I pulled back the shower curtain and was greeted by a moth that flew around my face, clearly it was as startled as I had been. Most of the bathroom grout was missing and what remained was covered in a dark mildew film. The saving grace...since sleep wasn't an option I got to watch the sun rise on the mountainside. You do have to be careful of opening the blinds to enjoy that view as the balcony is shared by two other units. That also means no cracking the door to help offset the broken thermostat that kept the room near 80 degrees for most of the night. Pros: The view Cons: Literally everything else. Also, a side note...no way this place is ADA compliant. Accessibility is a joke. read more

Stayed here one night for a staycation small birthday get together for my son and his friends. Pool was one of the main activities he was looking forward to. It was supposed to be heated. When we took pics near the pool in the afternoon, lady in hot tub said it was cold. Later after activities, we went to pool. Got in, it was cold. Throughout the night the hot tub was 10-20 people with nobody in the pool or people going in just to cool down from hot tub and back into hot tub. I asked if we could use one of the pools at the other lodge. They said if the pool had an issue, they could do it. They sent maintenance down to check and called me back and said it was 92 degrees. I knew this pool was colder than my gym lap pool. Nowhere near 92 degrees. Wife happened to be at target and I asked her to get me a thermometer. 75-77 degrees. I do cold plunges, but for kids playing in a pool, that is too cold. Sucks that we didn't have a pool for our staycation. What really was bad service was not doing anything about it for us. After I mentioned it a few times. They could've sent us to another pool or given us a credit after the fact. I did not like being told it was 92 degrees. Anybody could just stick their hand in and know that wasn't true. Oh well... read more

Definitely get a mountain view because WOW. Absolutely stunning. The beds were comfy, space was clean, and staff were attentive. It felt very intimate and private although I know there were many other guests. They also have a swimming pool and hot tub with, again, the most beautiful view of the mountains. I have been Skiing at Alta & Snowbird for 20+ years now, and my lodging choice is always "The Lodge at Snowbird", not to be confused with the "Cliff Lodge" up the road. The location can't be beat, it is right off the Mountain and a 1 minute walk to Snowbird Center where there is shopping, food, and most importantly the Tram! The staff at The Lodge are super friendly and accommodating. The rooms types range from large hotel bedrooms to one bedroom condominiums with lofts. Each room has mountain views, balconies, mini refrigerators, and the condo units have fireplace and kitchens. The large inviting lobby features several seating areas to sit near the fireplace and enjoy complimentary beverages (coffee, tea, etc), wireless Internet, their book lending library or games. In the winter they have a weekly Wine and Cheese reception in the lobby where you can meet the staff and mingle with other guests and swap stories about your day on the slopes. There is a heated outdoor pool and hot tub with magnificent mountain views on the ground level and a fitness center with steam rooms and dry sauna. The Lodge Bistro located within the Lodge features a mountain view bar, and seated dining area serving up French/American cuisine, appetizers, sandwiches, soups, salads and entrees. For my money, The Lodge at Snowbird has the right stuff to meet all your needs for a Ski trip to the greatest Snow on Earth. Be sure to tell Kay and Matt at the front desk Fred sent you. read more

Loved our stay, coming back! My girlfriend and I had a 3-nights at one of the studio units (the one with a rollaway bed). Yes, upon inspecting the room we were slightly taken aback by the lack of a regular full bed. However, the breathtaking view, the coziness of the room, suggested we treat this with a hint of adventure and romanticism. Indeed, the next day evening, being completely exhausted after a day skiing, the rollaway bed felt like a godsend. While I have stayed at hotels that offer higher level of luxury, I did appreciate what the Lodge has to offer. It is about waking up in the morning to a breathtaking view of a snowy mountain, cozying up by a fireplace, taking a walk on a crisp snow to the Snowbird Center for a breakfast with tasty coffee, pastries, and fresh squeezed OJ, soaking in the steaming pool and hot tub while a snow falls right onto your hair (unless you chose to wear a hat). The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They have even organized a reception at the lobby with free wine & cheese, and live piano music. We absolutely loved our short stay. The only advice I can give - do bring your flip flops - this will make using the pool and a hot tub much more convenient. read more

Reportedly the cliff lodge has ski in and ski out but I think the Lodge has a better location. You walk 500 yards and you are at Snowbird center. It's definitely old, built in the 70's but it's cheaper, serves it's purpose and has better location. Hasn't been renovated much, the carpets are clean enough. The rooms may be different as they reportedly have different owners but ours was clean enough. Had 4 twin beds which was nice for 3 guys. Lots of drawers for all your ski clothes. The hot tub is nice and hot but can get crowded in the evenings. The pool is also quite warm, probably 80+ degrees. Can get crowded with children on the weekends but I didn't mind. They have a wine and cheese social on Thursday evenings. A lot more people then I've ever seen anywhere else. The service is good enough. Would definitely stay there again if in the area. read more

Ok peeps, I am going to break it down so you understand exactly WHAT to expect by staying in the lodge at the bird. I have stayed here a few times and have been extremely happy after I knew what to expect: 1. KILLER views people. All rooms have a patio facing the breathtaking mountain. There isn't much in my book that can top that mountain view. Go in the fall, and you are in for a treat. You have two floor to ceiling sliders that open up to the patio. Leave them open and soak it in. Look for moose and such on the mountain and be in awe when you find them 2. Rooms are older but comfortable and clean. Bathrooms are average at best. I'm not here for the bathrooms people, I'm here to soak in those views 3. Easy access to the Oktoberfest right from hotel. You also get one free car parking in valet if you are staying at the hotel. This is a plus on the busy Oktoberfest weekends. BEWARE: 1. During Oktoberfest weekends the hotel is an eccentric LOUDER crowd. Allot of drinking and allot of noise. This can be frustrating when trying to soak in that peaceful view. The hotel does have a quiet policy at 10 however, and they don't put up with BS, so give em a call. Story short, this is an affordable hotel during spring and fall (think low 100's) that gives all its guests a spectacular view from their room in one of the most serene settings that the Beehive state has to offer read more

Stayed here over 4th of July weekend while we hiked and did the various activities at Snowbird. We loved our room, the only complaint we have is that it was too hot to sleep. The room had no fan and if we slept with the windows open there was a bright light blaring into our room. We loved the activities. The Peruvian express was our favorite. A great ride to relax and then a cool tunnel hike at the top. We also loved the mountain coaster, the ropes course, and the tramp bungee harness thing. Over all we had a great stay. We got a good deal through a third-party hotel booking company, but I would gladly pay full price just because of the beautiful view from the room. read more

My wife and I stayed at the Lodge at Snowbird this past February for 2 nights, we purchased the room online directly with Snowbird. We were absolutely shocked to find out the room was over 800 dollars a night, but after seeing the photos and reading some reviews online before we arrived from out of state, we decided that we would take the chance and pay the almost 1900 dollar bill to stay for 2 nights. Upon arriving, we showed up in a truck loaded with ski and snowboarding equipment, not one time were we greeted by anyone asking if we needed help unloading. I found a cart inside to load our stuff onto which we took to our room, then after getting to our room, we were even more shocked to find out how crappy the room was. I seriously can't believe we paid this much for a Motel 6 style hotel room. Our room didn't even have a microwave. Small bathroom where the toilet was literally right up against the bathtub. There's also no continental breakfast included in the price and ski lift passes are also not included. After staying 2 nights and buying lift tickets for 2 people, we paid over 2 thousand dollars, an absolutely unbelievably ridiculous price for what we got. Dumb was I for doing it, but I had no idea before hand and at least now I know I will NEVER come back to this resort again. After doing much more research, there's plenty of other options in the area that offer a whole hell of a lot more for the money and I'll be sure to let you everyone know that Snowbird is NOT worth the money they charge. read more

Absolutely wonderful experience at the lodge at Snowbird Bistro. Everything was delicious, the duck was tender and not over cooked at all and the soup of the day was so flavorful. Staff was friendly and personal and they had a great wine selection. The salmon was also delicious as was the veal. Will definitely be coming back! Perfect post powder day feast. read more

The lodge has the best location out of the main hotels at Snowbird, it is directly across the street from the snowbird center making access to the resort really fast. The room looked great and the view from the balcony was amazing but the air conditioning was broken. The beds are really old and uncomfortable, I found myself having to sit up several times a night just to get circulation back in my feet. Parking is an absolute nightmare because the lot is really small and they keep over half of the spots reserved (for someone other than paying customers apparently). I think my next visit to the bird will be spent at the cliff instead. read more

The Lodge is a nice place to stay. We have stayed at the lodge in summer and fall and have enjoyed our stay each time. The lodge does not have air conditioning. During summer and autumn evenings we keep the patio doors open to get airflow and cooler temperatures in the room. The patio views are outstanding looking out toward the AF Twin peaks. Access to hiking, the new mountain biking trails and all summer activities is in walking distance. During the summer time stay on a Friday night for the outdoor family flick. Saturday during the summer Snowbird also has the free summer concert series adding to the overall stay experience. When staying at the lodge they have a coffee, tea and hot chocolate bar at the front desk. Our kids love stopping by to make their hot chocolate. The outdoor pool and hot tub areas are nice. The pool and hot tub are salt water rather than chlorinated. The only thing keeping the Lodge from a five star rating is the amenities are not a good as the Cliff Lodge. Overall The Lodge is a good experience. read more

Came up for a little spring skiing- far exceeded my expectations. Staff was amazingly accommodating - met the manager during my first night's complimentary apres ski wine and cheese event in the main lobby with some lovely fellow guests. Super nice surprise! Wonderful studio with a better kitchen than I have at home- the pull out sofa bed was really solid and comfortable- the best I've ever been on. Didn't notice the difference from a regular bed. Ski lockers on ground floor and valet both nice touches. Definitely put the humidifier to good use. Coming back soon for the fireplace and mountain view off the balcony! read more

Nice place. However, the whole experience was marred by them strongly recommending Canyon Transportation as the way to the get to the airport. Canyon came one hour late and had me miss my flight by constantly lying during that hour that they would be there shortly, as a result of which I did not request an alternative. The worst thing is that Canyon is known to have terrible reliability and zero concern for customers, witness their 2-star Yelp rating, yet Snowbird continues to recommend it to their guests. I find this appalling. Is the owner of Canyon a special friend? Why do this to your guests when it is well known that Canyon is terrible? read more

Enjoyed our stay here for an Anniversary celebration. The staff was beyond friendly--I felt like a valued guest. The setting is everything you would want in the beautiful mountains. Unfortunately, the Queen-sized sofa sleeper was promoted as being as comfortable as a bed. We did not agree and had a somewhat restless night. We also were disappointed to find that we did not have access to the pool after the early checkout. A cool dip in the pool before the drive back to town after a day of recreation at the resort would have been ideal. read more

There has been one other review for the Lodge and the writer of that review stated, "Snowbird is a great, no frills mountain that's all about the skiing. Snowbird reflects this approach to the ski resort, with more focus on the skiing than the resort (and that's a good thing)" I agree with everything that he said except the part about it being a good thing that the resort is all about the skiing, there are months when the mountain has no snow and I believe they are setting on a gold mine if they would do a few things to entice people to come up and enjoy a stay in the mountains when there is no snow on the ground. My wife and I thought that we would enjoy a weekend get away so we booked a room and looked forward to a nice quite, cool weekend in the mountains, to say that The Lodge at Snowbird is a "No Frills" resort is an understatement!! After living in Vegas for forty plus years I just assumed that places made an effort to be the best at something other than getting you close to skiing. The prices are a little high for a "No Frills" resort when there is no snow on the ground, the restaurants are overpriced which would be OK if the food was good (which it is not), and the attractions are limited. Snowbird is beautiful and you can have a good time enjoying nature if you want to spend some time on the mountain but don't expect anything other than the beauty of the surrounding nature. If the resort owners had any kind of vision past the first snowfall this could be a great summer resort but truth is, it's not so great and I left highly disappointed. $11.00 dollars for a very average hot dog?? you are better than that Snowbird. An absolutely exceptional hotel and resort with wonderful staff and service. Rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable with gorgeous balcony views. The hotel amenities (pool, steam room, sauna etc) are excellent as well, but what really makes the place stand out is the service and hospitality. Every single lodge employee was friendly, helpful, and willing to take extra steps to ensure the best stay for their guests. Each person from my organization was personally attended to, and we would highly recommend the lodge to anyone booking a conference or a simple family trip in the summer or the winter. read more
