We drove for over an hour to play some claw machines. One of my favorite arcade place. Its a competition who gets the most stuff animal. We loaded our card and tried to win as much toys as possible. I just hate that they don't have any bag to help hold the stuff animals.

The card I bought because this place is horrible

I spent 20 dollars and 2 of the games were scames get better at making arcade that other wise is was ok I just am not interested on paying 20 dollars on something that dosent work

Woah, the first impression is the huge size and space of Round 1. Walking around, there are a lot of games to choose from, which don't include just arcades, but also bowling, pool tables, ping pong, darts, and even three Karaoke Rooms. They also provide food and drinks as well, with a large variety. There are plenty of tables to accommodate all of that. Birthday parties and events are common, where booking a party could be done on their website and even by calling Round 1, with the location of your desire. The site gives a lot more details about pricing and even packages. Something that caught my eye is how understaffed it is, and also boxes lying around toward an empty area -- at least block it off or something. On the bright side, it looks clean in Round 1.

I probably won the most prize here than any other arcade I have been to combine. The staff members were super friendly and didn't mind me asking them many times to get my prizes. I visited here during a week day so it was not crowded at all. I was able to enjoy the place all by myself and my family.

Absolutely love this Round1 location! It's a bit of a drive from NYC, but definitely worth it for their extensive stock of claw game prizes, especially popular ones like LINE friends plushies, Miku figurines, Demon Slayer figurines, Jujutsu Kaisen figurines, Rem figurine, etc. These tend to sell out quickly in Long Island's Round1. The staff in charge of inventory here has excellent taste in selecting prizes for the claw games (I spoke with one of the male staff in charge of the closing shift tonight and I was informed that they'll be putting out more Miku figurines & LINE friends plushies later this month!) Being a newer location, they have all the latest VR and arcade games. The staff members are super friendly and incredibly helpful, especially if you're struggling with the claw games. I recommend calling ahead if you have a specific prize or toy in mind; the amusement department staff are very knowledgeable about the toys on display and in the claw machines. If you're already heading to Woodbury Outlets from NYC, I highly recommend stopping by this location, as they close late at 2 AM!

Absolutely the WORST customer service. POOR staff and HORRENDOUS management! If I could give them a 0 I would. By far the worst customer service I have ever encouraged. The bowling lane kept getting the balls stuck and the bowling manager told us to just keep bowling. After four times of continuing to "just keep bowling" all four balls were spinning behind the pins. At this point we had already pressed the service button and had someone come out to us four times in regard to the bowling lane. AT NO POINT did they say, let's move you to another lane. After we finished our first game I went to the desk and told the man what was going on and asked if we could move to the lane over. He responded with sarcasm and attitude, as if I was rude to him. Which I was not! I learned later that he was the bowling manager! Wow. After switching to another lane where the balls didn't continuously get stuck, our game got cut short. My boyfriend went to see what was going on and the bowling manager said that we paid for two games and we're playing three. My boyfriend said we've only played one, this is our second, and the manager said "you're a liar" ... things got pretty escalated from there. Involving security and the manager of the whole Round1. The bowling manager was trying to say that because we reset the score, only two people out of four had bowled, that counted as a game ... the only reason we reset the game was because the lane was NOT WORKING. BUT AFTER EVERYTHING the manager did come over after NOT TO APOLOGIZE but to hand us a free game of bowling ticket... as if that made us for this experience. Safe to say we will not be returning.

I love arcades, I love claw machines, and I want to love Round1s. This is the fourth different Round1 I have been too, it's not the worst of the bunch, nor is it the best. There are a few things that you need to know about Round1 before you go there. It is a Japanese style arcade. They have a lot of claw machines set up in ways where you have to win to get the prize. The prizes tend to be better than you get in a normal arcade claw machine. They also have a massive arcade section, bowling, karaoke, and pool. The down side to all this is it's very expensive. This is not the type of arcade you can spend $25 and have a good time. My biggest problems with this location in no specific order were, the staffing was low and it was hard to find anyone to help, and since you need staff to get your prizes out of the machines this sucks. Way too many of the Arcade games were broken and non functional, I lost count how many I saw. The prizes in some of the games were cheaper and more generic than I am use to seeing in other Round1s. Overall I had fun and will be back if I am in the area, but I left disappointed that the experience could have been a lot better.

Just did karaoke, but had a great time. Did two hours. Next time we'll start with four hours!

I love arcades this has to be my opening statement. Now you include in that Japanese cabinets then my friend you are in for quite a treat. Imagine if you will Dave & Busters minus screaming children, strange odors and machines that have "stuff" all over them. I have to say the vibe is totally different here as it's based off a concept that is Japanese in origin. Walking in you see the pool table area a bunch of sports arcade cabinets, Karaoke rooms, the table tennis area, bowling the bar/food/points counter. Then as you walk in further you see more ticket games, racing, music, rows of crane games, and ski ball. As I began it is a Japanese concept so to my joy most of the games were actually in Japanese so I could only guess what they were telling me. But with games as modern as Tekken 7, rare gems like Capcom vs Tetsunoko (Sp), a castlevania Light gun game where you use a whip it is a mini gamer nirvana for me. I walked in about 8pm closed the place down at 2am didn't even feel the time pass. They sell 1.99 draft beers, basic pricey bar food and there is a diverse amount of things to do. Do note to get the black card to start you on your way to earn a stamp for every $10 you spend gets you $1 off and goes up with each use. You have to show it to the cashier first or else they won't give you your discount. All in all I bowled, played many games and didn't have a single cringy moment with a child shoving in front of me to get to a machine. Hands down recommend you check it out.

This place is ridiculously large. It's like a giant casino for kids. Instead regular slot machines and card tables. This place has a bowling alley, pool tables, ping pong tables, karaoke rooms and so many games. Instead of winning cash you win stuffed animals and tickets. You cash in winning tickets for prizes at the victory zone. Great place for families to spend the day.

Ask the Community - Round1 Bowling & Arcade - Middletown

Do they take reservations for Bowling and/or Karaoke or is it first come?

I've only been there one time just passing through on my way out of the mall but there appeared to be rooms that had parties going on so I would imagine that you could do the reservations. Obviously you would need to call them to confirm or check… Read more

Our "party host" was inattentive and much more interested in texting on her phone and eavesdropping on the police activity outside of the place than helping us. A party guest asked her for a wristband because there were not enough for all the kids, and she told the mother of the child to go get one herself from the front desk. She was asked repeatedly to bring plates, cups, etc but seemed like she couldn't be bothered. Finally brought plates after the guests had eaten cake off of napkins because she just disappeared. My husband asked the man behind the counter for plates and he rudely told him to "go ask the girl for that." Speaking of rude, a girl who I assume was a manager approached my husband and other party guests and chastised him because the pizzas and soda from our party were on another table meant for someone else's party. My husband explained that the party host put them there, but she continued to be nasty and she yanked our food and drinks off the table and took them away! The staff was completely rude and no one particularly looked like they wanted to be there. I'd much rather go somewhere more friendly and professional to spend my money. This place is a total bust.

The music was great, the atmosphere was fun, and the customer service was honestly top notch. Huge shoutout to Shanelle (with an S!) behind the bar -- she was amazing all night -- and her son working the food stand was just as friendly and hardworking. They really helped make the party special. The girls had so much fun, everything ran smoothly, and it ended up being one of those nights everyone leaves smiling from. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a fun, easy party spot with great people and great vibes.

Overall a solid bowling alley I'll certainly return to. Pricing is not bad with an unlimited bowling price per hour. If you have a small group it's a fair value since you can probably get about three games in per hour coming out to about $5 per game which is the average cost at other alleys. If you have large groups then I'd split the groups up in multiple lanes to get a bit more for your buck but otherwise fairly competitive pricing in my opinion. My only complaint was the lack of air conditioning on a hot summer day which made for a little uncomfortable experience otherwise I would have stayed longer.

First, the bartender was so lovely! I don't drink so I was truly impressed with the number of non-alcoholic beverage options available. I initially ordered a non-alcoholic drink, but then I saw the Shark Attack Mocktail and asked if I could switch to that. Thankfully I caught her right before she started making the first drink! The mocktail was sooo cute and actually really tasty! (See photo I included). I loved the theme of it, especially as summertime is officially here. Now let's talk about the arcade part of this place! The machines take quarters, so use the ones you have in your pocket! No quarters? No problem! They have a machine that will give you them, however it only accepts $1 and $5 bills. No cash? Also not a problem! They have an ATM on site. They really did think of everything, here! Most of the games are old skool, such as Pac-Man, Pinball, Dance Dance Revolution, etc. They also have a claw machine, however it's rigged so don't waste your time or quarters on it (which is exactly what I did, hahah!). Pac-Man is two players and my husband and I had a lot of fun with that one! I also LOVED Dance Dance Revolution (located in the far left corner in the back, behind the bar area) and wish I had found it before I wasted most of our quarters. Most of the games take anywhere from $0.50 to $1 to play, so keep that in mind. The patio is very large and much quieter compared to inside. I loved the atmosphere with all the string lights! They also have two little seating areas that are gated (which kind of look like adult playhouses?) which I think would be an awesome spot to chill with your friends + your dog. No fear of your pup running off! Regarding food: they do have a small menu, however it's mostly snack items like mozzarella sticks, a giant pretzel, things to that nature. What's cool, though, is that they offer vegan chicken nuggets!! Not a lot of bars have these, so it's definitely worth noting. 11/10 recommend that you stop in here while visiting Beacon! We absolutely loved it and would come back in a heartbeat!

Coughlin is a cinematographer by trade while Follansbee is a public school art teacher. In 2011, the couple were both living in the Wicker Park area of Chicago. When the Emporium Arcade bar opened in their neighborhood, they both fell in love with the concept of an arcade bar. They later moved to New York City and visited as many arcade bars as they could with the intent to one day open one of their own. By 2018, the couple relocated upstate to Beacon to start a family. It dawned on them that Beacon would be a great location to open a "barcade". The couple didn't just want to open a place for adults to chase the nostalgia of their childhood, but rather a place that the whole family could enjoy. After securing a location on Main Street, and after a short delay from the COVID-19 pandemic, Happy Valley Arcade Bar finally opened to the public. I recently visited Happy Valley with my two sons while we were visiting Beacon. I've loved arcade bars since the first time I visited a Barcade location in 2014. I love sipping on excellent craft beers while enjoying the classic arcade cabinets of my youth. I also appreciate it when arcade bars are family friendly, as both of my sons have also taken an interest in arcade games. We all enjoyed the interior of Happy Valley with all of the crazy colors and spaceship-themed decor on the walls. There was a decent selection of classic arcade cabinets as well as pinball machines, both of which kept my sons occupied for a while. In addition to a nice selection of craft beer on draught, the bar also offers wine, craft cocktails, non-alcoholic options, and various bar bites such as chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and mac 'n' cheese bites. There were also plenty of seating options both inside and outside. We had already eaten lunch earlier, but I was definitely in the mood for some tasty brews while I played some games. I first enjoyed a Thin Man Brewery's "Pills Mafia" (German Pilsner) followed by an Old Glenham Brewery's "Weaver's Pale Ale" [on cask]. Both of them were flavorful and refreshing. We ended up staying for over an hour; it was nice bonding time for my sons and me. We will definitely stop in again the next time we're visiting Beacon!
