They had to take out an old treadmill from our basement, up the stairs through a small hallway and they did it without scratching anything! They were nice and good with our dogs also. We were supposed to get an estimate but never received one. They showed up for the job and that's what was charged for the small amount of items removed and small amount of time that was needed for the job. Also - do you ever wonder how they have so many reviews or that the workers are almost always named? Mostly all on the big search engine. It's because they pull up the review page on their own device and tell you to write the review - right then and there in your driveway - after running your credit card on the device, that just looks like their personal cell phone. That's exactly what they did to my husband. Also made him take a picture of them to use in the review.

Rumpke has a great system set up for Cincinnati's recycling program. It's actually more advance and…read moreprobably recycles more in the end than some major cities do! Their website is really helpful in describing the process and what can and can't be recycled. A lot of places recycling only comes once every two weeks, but here they manage to do it weekly. There is a separate truck for recycling and all recyclables get tossed into it together. I recently learned that they don't sort until it all gets back to the facilities. So no need to sort it yourselves, just toss it into the bin all together! At the plant it's sorted and checked for quality control and then recycled. They only recycle type 1 and 2 plastics so make sure you are checking what you put into the bin. I also learned something new the other day, throw away the caps to things! Apparently it's a different type of plastic and can't be recycled!

Beware when paying online you will be charged a $2.95 processing fee…read more I usually send a check but with all the holiday mail thought online was faster. So when notifying Rumpke about being unhappy with the fee they cancelled my whole payment and said mail in payment. Of course they could have just refunded the fee and took the payment. So now they will have to deal with the mail delay TA DA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also notified my city mayor & clerk to let citizens know. Not sure why a large company uses a process the charges this fee.

The recycle truck is able to find our cans. According to the supervisor, it's not because the driver can't go backwards, he just keeps forgetting to go backwards and pick up our trash. One time when I tried to discuss it with a driver, he almost ran me over. In the pursuing conversations with Rumpke supervisors, I was told not to speak with drivers because they are "not trained in customer service." Now once again, service personnel are refusing to take my recycling (three cardboard boxes and three plastic bottles), because they're not in a Rumpke can (they're in a separate green can clearly marked 'Recycling') despite my city paying for us to use cans beyond Rumpke's. Rumpke is bad value for what I pay in taxes, and we need more waste removal companies to break this arrogant monopoly.
