My shower faucet all of a sudden was very difficult to turn on. It was no hard that I feared I would break something if I forced it. I looked online and found this was a common problem and breakage was indeed possible. I called Roto Rooter on Monday and they had someone out the next day, Tuesday. Hands down the worst and slimiest service. My 83 year old grandmother has a horrible leak that was discovered toward 430 on a Friday. We called everywhere. And myself and my father spoke with roto rooter grand junction separately twice we explained we needed someone out before Monday, and we were both assured they would have someone out by Saturday afternoon so they set the appointment. My grand mother called them around 230 to get an eta, the woman she spoke with not only refused to try and get an eta for her, she immediately told her to reschedule for Monday. Or wait until after 430 today (Saturday) and pay the after hours amount. Trying to scan the elderly and take advantage of them like this is horrible and disgusting. Hats off to the piece of work that did this to her. read more

One guy came out Friday and said snaking it won't work because it's so clogged it needed hydro jetting and a clean out outside to make it possible because it was so backed up. so Saturday I put in a bidirectional clean out and a different guy stops by to make sure I did it properly. He tells me good job on the cleanout I can take care of it right now for 375. I say k great. All he did was spend 5 minutes snaking 20 feet(between the new clean out and the house) no camera to make sure it's good and cleared out ( even though he put in his note that he did send the camera through) no hydo jetting nothing. Today (3 days later) its clogged again so I call and they tell me it's not covered and they are completely un willing to make it right in any way and the lady i talked to was very rude and unprofessional. I was also told i would have a $50 discount that is not reflected on the invoice. So I'm out $375 for someone to spend 5 minutes with a snake I could have bought for $700 or rented for $50 to me this is unexeptible, unprofessional, and unbelievable. Requested service for 2 leaking bathroom faucets. Tech came out and quoted $750. He could tell I was a first-time homeowner, I said hell no you're crazy and reluctantly gave him the $75 service fee they required (Undeserved). Called a handyman who came out and replaced both faucets for less than $100. They make money on the service fee. As long as people keep feeding them the service fee they'll continue this practice. Call a handyman instead and save yourself hundreds. read more

Great service, friendly, knowledgeable techs, but get ready to pay a ridiculous amount for their work.

I called at 8pm for a clogged sink drain, asking if there is an "after hours" hourly rate versus a day rate. The local Roto-Rooter rep confirmed this and told me that it's $175/hour for "after hours" or $29/hour for the day rate. He recommended calling at 8am the next morning when they open and getting someone out. I agreed that this made sense and thought that $29/hour seemed incredibly fair. When I called back the next morning, I talked with a different person who said that there will be "a $29 service charge and then the hourly rate." I thought to myself, sure, fine...of course there is a service charge along with that $29/hour rate, bringing me up to $60 if he can fix my problem in an hour. So I booked the appointment for late morning/early afternoon. I got a call around 1pm the same day from the plumber himself saying he's about 15 minutes away. When he arrived, we talked briefly about the issue and what I had tried so far to resolve it without success. Here's the real kicker: He then informs me that for a clogged sink, the price is $179 for TWO HOURS (there's no one-hour option...) along with the $29 service charge, bringing the total to $208 even if it only took him 10 minutes to fix it! I repeated what I was told by the person on the phone and he said "because I was confused" he might be able to waive the $29 service charge just for showing up today and then I could have someone else come look at the sink and fix it. I have a busy schedule and decided to just have him fix it while he was here. Of course, he fixes it in about 45 minutes and I'm stuck paying over $200. What really bothers me is that I talked to two different people before he arrived at my house and I was given incorrect pricing by both of them. I doubt that this was an intentional bait and switch, but it's very frustrating. If I would have been told the true costs up front on the phone, I would have sought out another plumber. What earned three stars was the overall kind and informative plumber from Roto-Rooter who came out for my issue. Granted, I did pay for two hours...but he did linger for a long time after the clog was fixed explaining how I have a problem with tree roots in my pipe drains and the different short and long-term options to resolve it, which I appreciated. Roto-Rooter seems competent to fix plumbing issues, but all of their prices for different things that I was asking the plumber about seemed ridiculous, as was the actual price I paid for this one visit for a simple sink clog. I will be going with a local plumber next time. read more

I had roto-rooter remodel the plumbing in a bathroom and they did a great job. I had four other companies come out to do estimates and they all wanted to dig up my large patio instead of going through the crawl space how I wanted. Frank from roto-rooter did an excellent job. I've also had them come out for a drain cleaning after I had another company out that could not clear it and wanted to replace the plumbing all together. This week was the first time I used RotoRooter. There were some unresolved issues when they left, and honestly, I wasn't very happy. The technician said he would have his manager come out to look at our boiler and talk to me. Ben, local service manager, called me the next day, then came out the following day. He quickly diagnosed the problems, and got my system up and running. Ben went above and beyond to remedy a bad situation and take care of us, his customer. You don't always find that anymore. As a fellow business owner, I know companies can fall short and screw up - but making it right and taking care of the customer is what separates the good ones from the not so good ones. read more

I had them snake our main line and four days later it was backed up again (after barely being used). When they snaked it they also used a camera and told us the line was okay. When I called and told them it was backed up, they told me they wouldn't honor a guarantee because of the "condition of the line." This is a line that gets used a lot, normally, and only backs up maybe once a year at most. There are other options in town that are much cheaper- use them instead. So disappointed. read more

Roto Rooter was able to get me scheduled for the next afternoon to service a full blockage in a toilet. Garrett notified me he was on his way and upon arrival provided excellent service on site. He let me know the expected charge up front, which was quite reasonable compared to a quote received from another provider. With use of camera equipment, he found a yogurt container and congestion that was not allowing water to flow through. Following clearage of the drain blockage, he confirmed with the camera equipment that the yogurt container was no longer in the main drain line. Garrett was diligent in his work despite single digit temperatures outdoors and a much hotter room indoors. He was efficient and professional every step of the way. He explained what he did, what he found, and advised he'd be providing a report of the service as well. He saved the day, as the other bathroom in the home is under construction and this clogged toilet was the only commode available for use in the home. read more
