On Sunday eve, before they close, I tried to grab some Mediterranean food. But found that their service was pathetic. I ordered Salmon kabob (paid $2 extra. This is only mentioned on the board near the Counter!) and pita ToGo. Suggested to serve pita separate so that it does become soggy, but both the server and the manager had hard time to get it. Finally, some how after few tries they understood... Next, I asked falafel on side and I was ready to pay more for the side. Here, the manager provided funny sounding math! 3 falafel for $3.15, and if I get one then ¢50. I asked how does that math work? I was willing to pay $1.50 for by ordering individual 3 falafel, but the Manager wanted to charge $3.15. I again tried to explain that even with Chicago's extorting and exorbitant Sales Tax on food, his math doesn't work!!! And, note this was just few minutes before they close, with absolutely empty restaurant, and lot of leftover food. I have had pleasant experiences with many of the eateries when typically the staff adds even complementary food item when they are about to close for the day. Not expecting any courtesy... But, here the manager was clearly trying to get more money with illogical math! Would not go back from poor service point of view! read more

A delicious Mediterranean fast food restaurant, serving create-your-own pita or wrap, rice platter, or salad bowl. For protein, you have the option of falafel, and additional costs for meat options like chicken roti/kabob, steak, lamb, and salmon. You can choose as many sides, toppings, and sauces as you'd like. It was great that hummus and other filling sides like couscous were included. For about $10, I had a delicious plate of food with healthy greens, hummus, and falafel over rice. The rice was a little dry and not warm, and falafels did not have the grainy chickpea texture typical of authentic falafel, but more like blended chickpea, and it was kind of bland. However, the sides were great, as well as the hummus. I think it's one of the more upscale fast food options in the Loop, with a snazzy modern interior, quick service, and healthy options, good for vegetarians/vegans. read more

Vegetarian friendly! If you like a little bit of everything i would certainly recommend this place! Their plates have crunch, warmth and little something tart! When i want Mediterranean, this is my go to place! The space is clean even though it gets packed at times!! I like when I get to pick my food! The staff is nice and usually always ask if I just want to wait for a minute for the new batch so I can enjoy the freshly made ingredients! read more

We catered for work from roti and that had me hooked. Everyone knows it's a Mediterranean rip off of chipotle. Basically swap guac for hummus. Not a bad thing, just an alternative. I like how you can order at the kiosk. I got the pita the first time I dined there. I really like it but it's like a taco. Like with a taco bell crunchy taco, either you bite all beef or all lettuce. Dont judge me for taco bell. You get a bite of veggies. Then you get a bite of meat and hummus which is so damn good by the way. Try the roll too. The concentrated bite is less of an issue. I'm considering trying the bowl, but I hate spending more than 10 dollars on lunch that I usually devour quickly in the interest of time. read more

We catered our office luncheon here recently, and everyone enjoyed. It was a nice alternative to the usual places we order from. (You know, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, etc.) Catering offered lunch boxes and platters, but we chose the "Any Way You Want It option." We chose two entrees; the chicken kabobs and the salmon, two sides; the cous-cous and their delicious hummus and pita chips, the Mediterranean chopped salad (also very good!), and we got their pita bread on the side and two sauces; their roasted red pepper sauce (mild) and their dill, yogurt & cucumber (mild). They also have a spicy sauce which I love, but most of my co-workers wouldn't touch it! There are also good options if you're dining in or carrying out from the restaurant itself. (sandwiches, salads, wraps), but I prefer the plates where you choose your protein, your sides, and your sauces. No matter what you choose, their food is fresh, healthy, and delicious. read more

Terrible Roti location. The falafel they gave me was not even warm much less hot. You could tell it was very old and had been left out for awhile. Vegetables were wilted and did not taste fresh. Disgusting meal and currently hoping I don't get sick to my stomach from their nasty food. Save yourself the trouble and go to the location on Lake St instead. read more

Was in Chicago on a Sunday planned to hit up NafNaf but it was unfortunately closed and this was down the street. Had a decent pita there really wasn't any sides to choice from which was disappointing. My husband had a pita as well. That and 2 drinks was 30 dollars.I couldn't believe how expensive it was!! Lots of buzzwords on the product wrapper so antibiotics, organic, etc so I guess that's were the cost comes into play read more

This is honestly such a great place to grab a quick meal at good value. The way it's set up is like an assembly line. You choose your meat base and type of dish (wrap, rice plate, salad) and then you get unlimited toppings (like hummus, cous cous, etc.). We got the chicken rice plate with all the toppings and by the end, my plate was overflowing! I've never been to a place that gives so much food, especially food that usually costs extra (like hummus), on top for free! My favorite side was definitely the cous cous - it's so good! You can also get a side of falafel (3 pieces) for $2.25. They were delicious - and I don't even usually like falafel! Everything (including the falafel) was $12 - which was honestly a steal! Additionally, the service was very fast so I feel like you can be in and out in no time. The one con (and the reason why I'm docking a star) is that I wish the chicken and rice were hotter. The plate was essentially lukewarm when I was eating it. Still delicious - but would have been much better hot. read more

Great food concept! Reminded me of Chipotle when I went through the line. They ask you for your side, protein, sauce, vegetables, etc. I got the rice plate for $8.45. It came with a piece of bread. Portions were generous. What really got me happy was the taste. The grilled chicken was amazing and the ingredients tasted fresh and clean. Clean atmosphere and dining area as well. read more

Roti - Mediterranean Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

This restaurant offers a wonderful variety of different cuisines. My visit here is the first of its kind, and I'm grateful that it comes close to my expectations in every way. A colleague of mine recently suggested that I give it a shot, so I did. I enjoy the place, as well as the mood and atmosphere that can be experienced within. Because the staff is kind, I had no trouble placing my order and taking my time while I was there. When it came to the food, I chose with the Lamb Pita and Rice Bowl. It was what my friend suggested me to buy, so I went ahead and did it. And I suppose I can see why he gravitates toward these particular meals the most. Simply because it tastes so good! I will definitely be back here again next time. And to my next visit. I will gonna try some of their dishes. I'm gonna recommend this place to some of my friends. read more

There is nothing you can order here that isn't good. There. I can just end my review right there. But then who would tell you about the Mediterranean goodness that awaits you at Roti? I know my Mediterranean food and this is some of the best quality meat and side dishes I've had--especially in a fast-food setting. The chicken and steak roti and chicken and steak kabobs are all delicious, with just the right amount of seasoning. The steak kabob sandwich on pita bread is my absolute favorite. They don't skimp on the meat--you get a nice juicy skewer of meat in your sandwich with your choice of toppings. All the toppings are phenomenal--hummus, baba ghannoush, tomato and cucumber salad, cous cous, Spanish eggplant, feta cheese, Kalamata olives. I can't get enough of the Spanish eggplant and baba ghannoush. You can also top off your sandwich with one of their various sauces--like my favorite--the dill, yogurt, and cucumber. Totally affordable, great value for your money. They have a few locations in the Loop. Perfect for catering to your office. I've dined in at this location and had a taste of everything on their menu when we've had it catered. Courteous staff and quick, efficient service. read more

Roti is a fantastic choice for a quick lunch or dinner in the Loop! For under $10 you can get a filling, healthy, fresh, and tasty meal. Places with this kind of quality and value are scarce in this area! As many other reviewers have mentioned, it is like a Mediterranean style Chipotle. You have a choice of a rice bowl, salad bowl, a wrap, or a pita pocket. From there, you get a choice of proteins, sides, and sauces. (Hint-Great options for vegetarians and carnivores alike!) My go-to is the salad bowl because you can get an unlimited number of sides with two pitas on the side. This is can be a large portion of food, and sometimes I can't even finish it. The employees are upbeat and friendly, and the space is very clean! read more

Craving a quick fix for Mediterranean food? Get some take-out at Roti! Though the line is long - it moves quick so stick it out! I grabbed a Rice Plate ($7.95) so I could sample a few of the side dishes. The rice plate contains a choice of meat, pita bread, and 3 sides/toppings. I ordered the chicken kebab meat (white breast meat) to be healthy - it was still flavorful and juicy! For my 3 sides I ordered the hummus, tomato & cucumber salad, roasted vegetables. I would highly recommend getting the hummus! What a great deal for lunch! Great place for take-out - since the restaurant is packed! read more

This was my first and last time here. My friend and I decided to try this place based on high ratings, however we were very disappointed. Apart from sloppy looking plate and burned chicken roti, the worst part was the service. The guy Brandon who was preparing our food looked like he was upset that we even showed up there. Not even simple hello from him, just rolling his eye. Wow, he is sure hates this job so much. The other staff was just as careless and disinterested. I'm from Los Angeles and maybe this was a normal thing for Chicago, but it was unacceptable to me, I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Update: the restaurant reached out to me and apologized for the bad service I got at this location. They said they will address the issue immediately. read more

Roti is great! I love coming here for lunch. This one in particular is a great location, since it's right across from where I work. I feel like I get my money's worth getting the rice plate. I usually get falafel. Their falafels are quite good - not dry and also crunchy. The garlic sauce is always good. They give ample sides. They'll also give you two pitas if you ask. The service is super fast - don't be intimidated by the long lines at lunch. You won't be in line for very long! read more

Food: 4/5 stars My usual is a Falafal Pita with veggies, cucumber & tomato, slaw and cucumber yogurt sauce. It's a HUGE portion for a relatively cheap price. They also offer chicken Roti, chicken kabob, steak Roti and salmon. You can get all of the fillings on a pita, wrap or just on a plate. Service: 2/5 stars I've been here many times, and I always say I want a "Falafal Pita" so they know I want both Falafal and a pita. On more than one occasion, they've thrown the pita on the warmer (takes about 2 minutes) and THEN when the pita is out, start frying the Falafal (which takes another 5-8 minutes). I've also had them serve the people behind me with the Falafal they were originally making for me. They rationalized their decision by saying my pita was cold and they needed to restart it. They lack time management skills and aren't always the most accommodating. If you plan on coming to this Roti, and you expect warm food and quick service, your best bet is lunch on a weekday when it's naturally crowded and they are producing a lot of food. read more

I just had my first taste of Roti, and I can already tell this is going to be a dangerous addiction... I love that they have fresh, delicious, Meditteranean ingredients - you get to pick your meat, your bread/salad/plate, and then pile on as many delicious toppings as you want. They have great options like hummus, feta, tomato and cucumber salad, a very spicy and yummy sauce, eggplant, olives, etc. etc. Basically it's sort of like a Mediterranean Chipotle. It's ostensibly "healthy", except that you end up with an enormous burrito of food, which can't really be all that healthy. Oh well! I can't think of any cons, other than the fact that it's going to be tough to resist getting my lunch here every day. I don't understand why people complain about crowded lunch places in the Loop - it's the LOOP! Of course places will be crowded around lunchtime. But, any place worth its salt will move people through quickly and efficiently, which Roti seems to do very well. read more

A fantastic fast food Mediterranean restaurant. All the menu options were extremely healthy and delicious. Should I have some sort of Roti Platinum Card? EYE happen to think so. Well, it all started when I caught an early a.m. ABC 7 News report that quickly mentioned that Roti's first location near the Sears.. uh Willis Tower was open. It was September 2009, a gorgeous fall feeling and I'd taken the day off... donning my favorite tie-dyed shirt and was up for something healthy, tasty, spicy and quick. Think of Roti as sort of a Mediterranean version of Chipotle, and done very well. Chicken roti chunks are spiced well, smokey, tender and are a mouthgasm... especially when you ask the staff to top your laffa sandwich off with hummus, couscous, red pepper sauce and roasted veggies. It's like a big ole wrap that I love to drink strong black coffee with. The Adams Street store was initially overwhelmed by the crush of hungry crowds for quite a while and on my first visit after the store opened, they ran out of food and then resorted to cleaning the grill. I was a bit pissed but I understood the demand was too strong and these kinds of places are rare in the loop. We trekked there during the brutally cold winter and ice, then through the sweltering summer heat from River North to hit this location. It's no surprise that we were overjoyed to hear that Roti would open a Dearborn and Washington Street location. Hallelujah! It's become our favorite location for several reasons. The layout is much more open and navigable than the Adams Street store. And they offer free wifi, which wasn't initially available at the Adams store. I guess free wifi would have caused people to linger around and not give up their table. They're always friendly, fast and can work the hell out of a long line that constantly streams in and out. They have their shit together and it's refreshing to see. These are the kinds of things that make me even more Chicago patriotic. :) read more

Roti is the place you go for a quick meal. they serve decent food with average price. Roti Plate $7.5/ Roti Salad $7.5/ Roti Pita $6.5 I ordered Roti chicken plate. it came with rice, pita and three toppings(I chose eggplant/ hummus/ corn) If you are not that hungry, it's a good idea to order roti salad instead of the plate. Salad can choose as many toppings as you want while plate can only have up to three toppings. I couldn't use my credit card today as they say the system is down... I really enjoyed getting take-out from Roti. The Yelp/Grubhub ordering made it a snap to order our food and the restaurant had it waiting on a shelf as soon as we walked in. Everything was in the bag and it was super easy. The food was all amazing. I had a steak wrap, which tasted amazing with all of the complex Mediterranean flavors meshing perfectly together. The steak was so unbelievably tender that you would think that it was just cut from a dry aged prime rib roast. The sauces all complimented the filling perfectly. My only complaint is that the serving side was a little small for the price, I expected a little bit more food. For that reason, get a rice plate if you're a little hungrier, as they have a lot more rice and sides. Overall, I'm very happy with my Roti experience and I look forward to going again soon. read more

A friend and I stopped into Roti for lunch and had a good bite to eat. Décor: These Mediterranean-style Chipotles seem to be all over the place these days! How do you tell them apart?? I digress... This is a solid place with plenty of seats, nothing to hide (in the kitchen, as the food is prepared right in front of you), and very clean throughout. In fact, the first thing you notice when you walk in the door is the smell... YUM! Bathroom: unknown Staff: Everyone was friendly and very quick - the line moved very well. Additionally, there were rovers who collected our trash, pretty nice service! Food: We each had something different (a sandwich and a Rice Plate) but they were both very good. I'd recommend either or. I will note that the portion sizes are teetering on the smaller size... next time I'd get double meat and push for some extra large scoops of sides. Particular stand-outs: the hummus (wonderful), the chicken (great spices), and the hot sauce (YUM). We each had a side of Falafel and WOW, it was outstanding! Value: I paid right about what I figured I would - same range as Chipotle haha. This is a solid spot that I'll return to in the future for sure. read more

One thing I didn't expect coming here is that it's a fast food joint. Think Qdoba or Chipotle with Mediterranean food. That being said, it was very tasty. I had a rice plate with veggies, hummus, cous-cous, tomato-cucumber salad and pita. It's a ton of food, and I didn't even come close to finishing mine. The cous-cous was my favorite. Kinda sweet with raisins. I would have liked a bigger piece of pita. My S.O. had the beef & rice plate and enjoyed it. Pretty affordable and yummy. I think ATX needs one. read more

Great food; ordered a Lamb Bowl and a Lamb Pita. Both were delicious despite not receiving the extra pita we ordered with the bowl. Dill yogurt and garlic sauces were fantastic and portion sizes were perfect. Only complaint is that we ordered delivery thru Yelp! Purely based on flavor, this place HITS THE SPOT. Every element on the plate is incredibly flavorful -- from the proteins to the toppings. Although the process of ordering is really quick, especially during lunch hour where the line is long as hell (but you get it extremely quick because of the speed), you still get so much out of it. The customizability is of course, always a huge plus + they give you a pita bread which is really good. Roti is a delicious yet incredibly intense eating experience. As I'm sure everyone will tell you, it's the Chipotle of Mediterranean food. The ingredients are fresh and really good! The ordering process during lunch hour is terrifying. It's like a rapid assault of questions and hipster workers demanding to know what sauce you want on your food. Tahini! No, the hot sauce, no! Leave me alone! After you get through the food assembly line, expect to pay like 8 bones for your lunch. Bones = dollars. This is kind of pricey, so try to get the BOGO coupons from people outside of the train station whenever possible. Finally, a few tips: - I recommend the salad - you can get as many toppings as you like, and you know I love me some toppings! - The pita is just okay. I'm spoiled by Naf Naf pitas, so everything pales in comparison. read more
