This review is based on a takeout order. Receiving instruction at Gold Coast this was the only "restaurant" in the area for a one hour lunch. That being said I was in a hurry to get a salad and hoping to find better quality greens than the subway next door I was sadly mistaken. All their salads are made with romaine and there is no spinach available. In these classes you are cramming a lot of information and have to take an exam within a short period of time. We also all get out to lunch at the same time so even walking next door to Subway to get a salad would of cut into precious study time. Therefore just call in any orders prior to picking them up. Sleep deprived and hungry I went in to order pick up and all the staff seem really nice! What seemed like the host, server, and takeout girl really helped as they started to get more busier. She recommended the Malibu salad which wasn't my cup of tea. It taste like lettuce, dried grilled chicken, but at least there was no shortage of bacon bits. It's served in a bread bowl which I thought was really cool! It just tasted like baked really bad dough. Came here for a quick dinner around 8:45 on a Thursday, they closed at 9 but were nice to welcome us. I ordered an Italian wedding soup, it was luke warm and the meatballs were a bit rubbery. Maybe it was sitting in the heater all day. We also ordered an Al Fresco pizza and it was just okay, nothing that will blow you away. Tomatoes were sliced too thin and we're on the green side. Came by for lunch last week. Never been to or heard of the place, but I was in the area and needing a lunch. It's a small Italian restaurant with the typical Italian flare. It's got a decent amount of tables and booths, but seemingly filled up rather quickly once I was seated. They have various lunch specials that are served from 11am-4pm daily so that's what I opted for. I got the pasta carbonara (which you can pick your own pasta) and it comes with garlic knots. I added a Caesar salad for $1.99. First came the salad naturally and it was alright. The dressing was a little overly mayonnaisey tasting and I know that's not a real world, but oh well. The garlic knots were good, but a little too chewy. It took some real force to pull them apart with your teeth. The pasta carbonara was alright. For a lunch portion I thought it could either be a little bigger or a little cheaper. $9.99 for a lunch portion is a little high when you can get a dinner for a few bucks more. Everything was ok. Not terrible at all, but nothing wow'd me either. The service got a little slow because it seemed like they only had two servers for the entire restaurant so they were constantly checking on other tables and couldn't focus their time properly. read more

Then the chicken picatta is dry lately and they charged $2-99 forextra sauce that was supposed to be on the side. Instead they put it on the meal. How do we know that they really added it? My friends and I went there and enjoyed an incredibly delicious meal. The service was fantastic and when we were finished we moved outside to sit at a table as it was a beautiful night, the patio was empty and we didn't want to hold up the waiters table inside. Since it's been years since we were all together we lost track of time and realized it was suddenly 11pm. We got up and went to leave and realized that the staff was quietly and patiently letting us have our time together and never moved a chair or table till we got up and began walking away at which point they began to clear the patio. Waste of my $$! Got the eggplant Parmesan half sandwich for $7.99. The salad was bla, nothing special. I barely touched the sandwiched. It was horrible. No cheese, little sauce and the eggplant was dry. It came with a slice of pizza, which was salty and chewy. After expressing my concerns they took 50% off which was nice but I really wanted a filling lunch without any issues. The waitress was nice and did her best to find a solutions. I'll give her credit for that. Always trust be reviews because it speaks volume. It's a shame because the restaurant is huge and well kept. For lunch time it was quiet with very little traffic. There was no precautions taken for coronavirus. They were working in the back without gloves. I walked in to the establishment did not get seated for 20 minutes although there was no one waiting. I always drive by so we decided to come here for lunch one day. It wasn't too busy and we got a table right away. We got our food and drinks so fast, I was pleasantly surprised. This is a good thing since I had to get back to work soon. I looked through Yelp and saw the Malibu salad looked amazing. I ordered the cheaper version, the Malibu wrap which came with fries but for a dollar more you could either get a side salad or soup of the day. They actually had a few options for the soup; minestrone, chicken, etc. I decided to get the fries because well, I love fries lol. The fries were so crispy, just the way I like it. The warp was filled with salad, tomatoes, red onions, bacon bits, chicken, avocado, and vinaigrette dressing. It was very delicious and fresh but a little messy to eat since the wrap was unraveling. There is only one option for the type of wrap because they had wheat and other options before but they took it off the menu since nobody was ordering it, per the waitress. They stuck with the standard plain white wrap. My husband ordered the same thing but with chicken soup. When we got our food, the soup was nowhere to be found. Our waitress was quick and efficient at first but once our food and drinks came out, she was nowhere to be found. We were almost done with our food before we flagged down another waiter to ask for the soup. She came out with the soup shortly after and was apologetic stating that the soup was being made and she got side tracked. It's alright, that was the only downfall. The pros outweighs the cons. Walking in and waited to be greeted or sit in a empty restaurant. We only got two tiny bread ball cover in garlic and excessive butter. The pizza slice was probably already made and toppings added afterwards. The mushroom was raw. The mac and cheese looks exactly what i make at home that comes out of a box with powder cheese. Everyone is so friendly and even over the phone, they're very polite and have patience with even the most picky customers( I heard lol) I highly recommend. I called and ordered 4 hero sandwiches for myself and 3 friends. This was the 2nd delivery order to my address today. There was no issue on the afternoon order. I have been ordering from here for a few years and never had a problem until today. Only 3 hero sandwiches were delivered and delivered cold. The French fries were soft and soggy as well. It took almost an hour and 20 to get the order delivered. Items arrived while I was on the phone calling them to ask why the order was so late. I was on hold. Driver didn't speak English and I sent the items back. After a while a hostile "manager" spoke to me and said he would do nothing but heat the items up and redeliver the items if I wanted the 3 items. I said I would need 4 but he was unresponsive, rude and escalated the tension to which I said I do not want any items to credit my account. I will have the charge disputed through my bank as he would not issue a credit. They robbed me of my money not having the proper order delivered as we received no food, and they wouldn't issue a credit. Bad business. I am contemplating filing a theft of service police report on the business if I fail to get my credit from my bank. read more
