Extremely competent. Very accommodating. Rick and his crew are world class professionals who served our rental and purchase needs with friendly enthusiasm. Lucky to have found Rotations...it made our trip! read more

the staff at Rorations is friendly, prepared, knowledgeable and always ready to help. I showed up 5 minutes before the store closed and they fixed my wheel saving my ride planned for the following morning, and charged me nothing! read more

This place is a complete rip off. Expect to get taken to the cleaners. I went in for new tires and a drive train tune up. I know what a bike is and how much it should cost. They did a "Complete service including charging my batteries". (Thanks for the USB plug-in). When I complained and said "you have one less customer" the owners response was "it's OK, we have new customers coming in everyday". I'm sure they do since they just had one today who they jacked $750 bucks out of. read more

I had a positive experience with the Rotations staff yesterday and thought to share. I had been to the shop a few days earlier to get the back bike tire valve fixed and thought both tires were checked for air pressure which they likely were. I had to go back yesterday. I arrived just before closing. The Rotations staff pumped air into front tire and took inner tube out right up against 6 pm closing window. . He could not find any leaks. He asked if I still wanted to replace inner tube and mentioned perhaps I had not fully closed valve. I chose to hold off replacing inner tube. Truth be told, I woke up early to ride to Montauk and that front tire is flat again. So yes I have to go back a third time but I do think they tried their best. read more

I went into Rotations with a specific mindset, uneducated but specific. The store Manager Ben Miller quickly determined my use case and provided options. The result was a beautiful Specialized Como delivered to my door last night with all the accessories attached. Couldn't have asked for a better customer experience - my wife and I are customers for life! read more

Amazing place with excellent selection of bikes and parts. Ben was incredibly patient with me and was taking care of multiple things. At one point he had 5 different customers, all with different types of issues or questions, all at once. I live 40 miles away and I'm definitely going back there if I need something. Thanks Ben. read more

I love this bike shop! Renting a bike from them and riding around town is one of my favorite things to do in the summer. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful in the shop. They have a great selection of accessories too! All very fairly priced. read more

COVID-19 ALERT - NO EMPLOYEES WERE WEARING MASKS WHEN I SHOPPED THERE!!!!! Plus one mechanic actually made fun of me for wearing one. If you are concerned about indoor transmission of COVID-19, do not shop here!!! It's crowded, everybody is talking, and nobody is wearing masks. The read more

I was I there this morning and was helped by a young kid to buy a helmet and then Rick to buy mountain bike shoes. Great People, Great Service. Ive had repairs done there in the past on a few bikes, top notch! read more

Great bike shop, incredible service, super knowledgeable, a fixture in the cycling community. Thank you for all you do!

No one should be surprised to hear that the most expensive bicycle I have ever seen was for sale here. It was a ALL carbon- Serotta? I'm not really sure but it was $16K. I finally got to see the new Sram "Red' group. Just as a $16K road bike won't ride five times better than a $3K bike I don't believe that Sram can possibly work twice as well as Dura Ace for twice the price. We rented townies and a trailer for a couple of days. Helmets, locks, and a promise of roadside assistance (due to lack of repair kit) were included. $35 bucks per bike and $35 for the trailer. This is a really well equipped and stocked INDEPENDENT bike shop. It took me a minute to find a fault to deduct from a five star rating, but here it is: we were told that we could have a flag for out trailer, but there was no where to attach it. There was, and I ground scored a reflective pole on the road side and attached it to the rental trailer. read more

Thanks to Rick Laspesa at Rotations Bike Shop in Southampton for my new ride. They offer competitive pricing and a good selection of bikes and accessories.. We received EXCELLENT customer service and guidance from Ben and the crew. read more

Rotations is the best. Ben, their super knowledgeable bike guru, spent a lot of time with me over two visits and patiently answered every question I had. He really went above and beyond what I expected. Thank you so much for the amazing service and the great deal I got on my new bicycle. You have earned a customer for life. read more

This place is great. Don't pay any attention to the reviews below. This bike store is high end but there is nothing and I mean nothing cheap about biking. If you're looking to go around the block a few times go to Walmart for a bike and just bypass here that isn't what this place is about. It's a high end place for people who have high end bikes and knows what it costs to fix them. Customer service is great and I always get quoted a great price they never over charge and the price of their tune up is par with everyone else with a few options to choice from which is great. read more

I have been shopping for a $2500 range bike. I visited many shops, my last stop was to Rotations . Their customer service and professional advise was by far the best experience . Ben, the sales person went well above any other sales person. I decided what my new bike would be based on his knowledge, no high pressure. They changed the tires for me no charge and delivered my new bike to my house to change out the peddles too. read more

i am new in town and need some wheels. i did some research and saw a bike shop online. i took a look around and picked one out. it was a road bike with colored rims & tires. i thought it was expensive, about 200 bucks but i bought it anyway. it finally came in the mail and was not the same bike in the photograph. a ten speed not single speed. totally difi cferent style frame, etc. so i called the company about a refund but was told no refunds. i didn't need the bike so i gave it away. i should have bought this item in store. what you see is what you get. read more

Ben was super helpful. Rotations has the best inventory I have seen since March. I got exactly what I wanted.

I have been buying bikes at Rotations for over 20 years. I find everyone who works there knowable and helpful. I can walk in for a helmet adjustment by Michael or a tune up by Craig. They have a great selection of bike clothes, rentals and accessories. It has easy parking. I wish Rick would open a Bridgehampton location. read more

As a bike shop in the Hamptons, a lot could go wrong. But, the store & the staff are fantastic! Always have the parts I need, they've tuned my bike up a few times (always do a great job), and everyone who works there is very pleasant and nice. read more

I had a great experience at Rotations! I was in the market for a 24 inch bike for my 9 year old son's birthday, during the Covid-19 crisis when it's almost impossible to get a bike! I happened to get the exact one I was looking for (Specialized Hotrock) and I am certain it was one of the last one in all of the Hamptons! I bought it and it was delivered to my doorstep (100% contactless) in the matter of a few hours. My son was thrilled and we couldn't be happier with the level of service and efficiency! read more

As a local resident of Southampton, it really bugs me that we do not have a small town bike shop. What I am saying is that this place cater's to the transient population, not the residents. Sure they have the most amazing bikes at the store, but the prices are ridiculously high. When you are looking for a bike at this shop, you can get a "starter" bike for like $400 bucks...Wow that is too much money for a novice rider to pay. The rentals are like $35 per day ! Try to get a flat fixed here on the weekend....Fagetaboutit !!! Plus it's $15 bucks. Every Sunday morning, all the transient yuppies meet there at 8:00am for coffee and a trek....usually 20 miles or more. Listen, the owners are good business people but they need to cater to the locals more, and for a more realistic price. read more

Don't go to this bike shop. I've never seen such rude and horrible service. My wife called 1 day in advance and asked if they had 2 bikes and a bike seat so we could go on a ride with our 2 year old. They assured us they had the bikes and bike seat and that we didn't need to reserve one even though we offered. When we arrived the next day the incompetent technician wasn't able to figure out how to attach the bike seat to the rack on the bike. After wasting 20 minutes of our time fiddling around he offered to change the bike rack but only if we would rent the bikes for 24 hours instead of the half day we were intending. So they had everything they needed but weren't willing to help us(unless we paid more money) even though they had told us the day before that they had everything ready. read more

I don't even know where to begin. In this unprecedented time where there is apparently a global bike shortage (yes, there IS such a thing!!), I made the 3-hour trek to Rotations with my son to get the bike he wanted because Rick had it! The bike wasn't put together quite yet, but he happened to have another (crisis averted...thank you!!) he was willing to give us to avoid making us wait before the return trip home. Not only that, but he took the time to look at my daughter's bike amidst a day of insanity (there was quite a line of people...apparently owning a bike shop is either the business you do or definitely do NOT want to be in this year ), fixed the brakes (saving my other son's you-know-what in the process since he's the one who wheelied and broke the brakes) AND put a new brake line in. When I say Rick didn't have time to do any of this, but did it anyway, I'm not kidding! Lastly, he found parts we needed for the repair of yet another child's bike. He could have easily up-sold me on a tire, yet didn't, and went into his own tools in the back of the shop to find one I needed that they didn't have on the shelf to sell. Customer service is incredible in this store! Rick's way of conducting business surpassed anything I could have hoped for, beginning with emails regarding whether they had the bike in stock to begin with. He was great to deal with, courteous, efficient, calm, and made me feel like I was the only customer there when I very clearly was not. The only complaint I have is that this store isn't closer to home. When I say it was completely worth the 3-hour drive, I mean it. We will absolutely return to Rick for future bike purchasing needs ! read more

Service is rude and horrible! I would never go back. If you like poor customer service this is the place to go! If you need service on your bike don't let them take it in the back. Make sure they service your bike in front of you. read more

If you want to feel insignificant and stupid, then this is the bike store for you. You wait and then you are made to feel dumb. You ask questions and you are made to feel both dumb and dumber. You give them lots of money and they make you feel like you are doing them a favor. I was told to ask for the owner, Rick, but he was hardly ever there. And when I called him to express my disappointment after I dropped a ton of money, guess who did not call me back? I can understand that folks can get jaded and some rude customers can make a salesperson service shy. But, my gosh, what about the benefit of the doubt? A bicycle is a wonderful thing and riding them makes people feel happy. Buying a bicycle should not be such a drag of an event. Come on Rotations Bike Store, take a refresher course on customer service! read more

I've had two ENTIRELY different experiences here. The first time, I waited for 10 minutes without any of the sales staff even ACKNOWLEDGING me with a greeting (and, no, they were NOT busy). I finally said, "Can I get some help?" When someone finally came over, I felt rushed and then was told to WAIT or I can be CALLED on the phone later, while he went to help ANOTHER customer who just walked in! Considering I was in the market to buy a $700 bike, I thought I deserved better than this and left. Nonetheless, it was easier for me to buy a bike in town so I figured I'd give them one more chance. This time, the service was OUTSTANDING! Rick took his time, answered all my questions, let me test ride several bikes and spent over an hour with me. There was absolutely no pressure to buy. So, on this second attempt, I do recommend Rotations but I would tell you to ask for Rick. It makes all the difference. read more

I've only been once, but I had a really good experience. They sell/service Treks, so I brought mine in for a repair and they did it for free (wasn't a huge issue, I guess). Nikita (?) is who helped me out. Was super friendly and helpful. I wound up buying some tri shorts, aero bars and a few supplies. It's probably expensive here, so I'm giving 4 stars, but everything is expensive out here. What else is new. Anyway, I'm in East Hampton, so it's kinda out of my way. But for more serious issues, I'd prob go back there. read more

Great selection of bicycles! I found my townie, they placed the order and I picked it up only few days later. I bought a whole bunch of accessories (I have a black and hot pink cruiser, I owed it to my "Pink Panther"!) and they gave me a gift - free cupholder for my coffee! Very fun and helpful staff :) made my purchase easy, fast and exciting! Thank you! read more

Most retail shops really suck, but Rotations bucks the trend. I bought 2 bikes from Ben this Summer and plan on buying a third for my wife this Fall. After a number of different frames / bikes I couldn't get the fit right until he and I dialed it in on their "pro fit" machine and now am riding faster and more comfortable than ever. Some of the comments below sound like a direct reflection of the consumer rather than the bike shop.....give them a try. read more

If there was an alternative, I would never go to this bike shop again. The staff provides, by far, the worst customer service I've ever encountered. As far as I can tell, there are multiple people who work in this shop. It's hard to know, though, as every time I've gone in there, I've waited 10-15 minutes for someone to acknowledge me. When I decide that I've had enough of being polite and waiting to be helped and I look directly at someone who seems to be doing nothing and ask if they could possibly help me, I am met with injured looks and quick promises that someone will be with me quickly. 10-15 minutes after that, I'm lucky if someone finally bothers to look my way. Six weeks ago, I dropped off a bike to have the front inner tube repaired. No one ever called me to tell me it was ready and I wasn't in a huge rush, so it didn't much matter. Today i went in to pick it up. After waiting 25 minutes (as described above) for help, they couldn't find the bike in the system. I had to go outside with them to look in their lot for it. Needless to say, when we located it, the tire hadn't been fixed. The woman "helping" me said I could wait for them to fix it now! They basically said, "oops!" I almost never leave reviews but I cannot believe how bad these people are at their jobs. Also, they told me they did not have a single hybrid bike in my size (this was before the incident with the tire, so it was not as if they had reason not to sell me something). The shop is full of bikes, but apparently only in the $2k and up range. read more

Without a doubt the best bicycle shop out east! For anyone interested in purchasing a starter bike to the newest and greatest, this is the place to go! Whatever they don't have in stock, they can special order so much and so quickly and are super responsive for everything I've needed! Definitely should give them the go, been in business for over 35 years and seems to be going strong! Great shop! They have rentals too! read more

Excellent shop! Ben , the sales associate who helped me , is extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with.

I bought a high end bike from Rotations. Rick, the owner, was all smiles during the sales pitch. As soon as I had my first problem, he never returned phone calls and virtually disappeared. When I called the shop to complain, the response of the staff made it clear that this was his standard way of doing business; make the sale and then go onto the next customer. I would never do business with Rotations again. read more

Person on staff was older gentleman who made me feel as though I was insignificant - he had other "real" bikers waiting and I was with my child and had questions. He rushed me through my questions (despite the fact that I would spend $) and was a total turn-off. Don't tell me it's my turn and then rush me through because i don't look like a real biker. i can still spend $$ - even if it's on a child. The prices here are a joke as well - major rip off. read more
