This place is a complete rip off. Expect to get taken to the cleaners. I went in for new tires and a drive train tune up. I know what a bike is and how much it should cost. They did a "Complete service including charging my batteries". (Thanks for the USB plug-in). When I complained and said "you have one less customer" the owners response was "it's OK, we have new customers coming in everyday". I had a positive experience with the Rotations staff yesterday and thought to share. I had been to the shop a few days earlier to get the back bike tire valve fixed and thought both tires were checked for air pressure which they likely were. I had to go back yesterday. I arrived just before closing. The Rotations staff pumped air into front tire and took inner tube out right up against 6 pm closing window. . He could not find any leaks. He asked if I still wanted to replace inner tube and mentioned perhaps I had not fully closed valve. I chose to hold off replacing inner tube. Truth be told, I woke up early to ride to Montauk and that front tire is flat again. So yes I have to go back a third time but I do think they tried their best. read more

No one should be surprised to hear that the most expensive bicycle I have ever seen was for sale here. It was a ALL carbon- Serotta? I'm not really sure but it was $16K. I finally got to see the new Sram "Red' group. Just as a $16K road bike won't ride five times better than a $3K bike I don't believe that Sram can possibly work twice as well as Dura Ace for twice the price. We rented townies and a trailer for a couple of days. Helmets, locks, and a promise of roadside assistance (due to lack of repair kit) were included. $35 bucks per bike and $35 for the trailer. This is a really well equipped and stocked INDEPENDENT bike shop. It took me a minute to find a fault to deduct from a five star rating, but here it is: we were told that we could have a flag for out trailer, but there was no where to attach it. There was, and I ground scored a reflective pole on the road side and attached it to the rental trailer. read more

This place is great. Don't pay any attention to the reviews below. This bike store is high end but there is nothing and I mean nothing cheap about biking. If you're looking to go around the block a few times go to Walmart for a bike and just bypass here that isn't what this place is about. It's a high end place for people who have high end bikes and knows what it costs to fix them. i am new in town and need some wheels. i did some research and saw a bike shop online. i took a look around and picked one out. it was a road bike with colored rims & tires. i thought it was expensive, about 200 bucks but i bought it anyway. it finally came in the mail and was not the same bike in the photograph. a ten speed not single speed. totally difi cferent style frame, etc. so i called the company about a refund but was told no refunds. i didn't need the bike so i gave it away. i should have bought this item in store. what you see is what you get. read more

I don't even know where to begin. In this unprecedented time where there is apparently a global bike shortage (yes, there IS such a thing!!), I made the 3-hour trek to Rotations with my son to get the bike he wanted because Rick had it! The bike wasn't put together quite yet, but he happened to have another (crisis averted...thank you!!) he was willing to give us to avoid making us wait before the return trip home. Not only that, but he took the time to look at my daughter's bike amidst a day of insanity (there was quite a line of people...apparently owning a bike shop is either the business you do or definitely do NOT want to be in this year ), fixed the brakes (saving my other son's you-know-what in the process since he's the one who wheelied and broke the brakes) AND put a new brake line in. When I say Rick didn't have time to do any of this, but did it anyway, I'm not kidding! Lastly, he found parts we needed for the repair of yet another child's bike. He could have easily up-sold me on a tire, yet didn't, and went into his own tools in the back of the shop to find one I needed that they didn't have on the shelf to sell. Customer service is incredible in this store! Rick's way of conducting business surpassed anything I could have hoped for, beginning with emails regarding whether they had the bike in stock to begin with. He was great to deal with, courteous, efficient, calm, and made me feel like I was the only customer there when I very clearly was not. The only complaint I have is that this store isn't closer to home. When I say it was completely worth the 3-hour drive, I mean it. We will absolutely return to Rick for future bike purchasing needs ! read more

As a local resident of Southampton, it really bugs me that we do not have a small town bike shop. What I am saying is that this place cater's to the transient population, not the residents. Sure they have the most amazing bikes at the store, but the prices are ridiculously high. When you are looking for a bike at this shop, you can get a "starter" bike for like $400 bucks...Wow that is too much money for a novice rider to pay. The rentals are like $35 per day ! Try to get a flat fixed here on the weekend....Fagetaboutit !!! Plus it's $15 bucks. Every Sunday morning, all the transient yuppies meet there at 8:00am for coffee and a trek....usually 20 miles or more. Listen, the owners are good business people but they need to cater to the locals more, and for a more realistic price. read more

Don't go to this bike shop. I've never seen such rude and horrible service. My wife called 1 day in advance and asked if they had 2 bikes and a bike seat so we could go on a ride with our 2 year old. They assured us they had the bikes and bike seat and that we didn't need to reserve one even though we offered. When we arrived the next day the incompetent technician wasn't able to figure out how to attach the bike seat to the rack on the bike. After wasting 20 minutes of our time fiddling around he offered to change the bike rack but only if we would rent the bikes for 24 hours instead of the half day we were intending. So they had everything they needed but weren't willing to help us(unless we paid more money) even though they had told us the day before that they had everything ready. read more

I can understand that folks can get jaded and some rude customers can make a salesperson service shy. But, my gosh, what about the benefit of the doubt? I've had two ENTIRELY different experiences here. The first time, I waited for 10 minutes without any of the sales staff even ACKNOWLEDGING me with a greeting (and, no, they were NOT busy). I finally said, "Can I get some help?" When someone finally came over, I felt rushed and then was told to WAIT or I can be CALLED on the phone later, while he went to help ANOTHER customer who just walked in! Considering I was in the market to buy a $700 bike, I thought I deserved better than this and left. Nonetheless, it was easier for me to buy a bike in town so I figured I'd give them one more chance. This time, the service was OUTSTANDING! Rick took his time, answered all my questions, let me test ride several bikes and spent over an hour with me. There was absolutely no pressure to buy. So, on this second attempt, I do recommend Rotations but I would tell you to ask for Rick. It makes all the difference. read more

I've only been once, but I had a really good experience. They sell/service Treks, so I brought mine in for a repair and they did it for free (wasn't a huge issue, I guess). Nikita (?) is who helped me out. Was super friendly and helpful. I wound up buying some tri shorts, aero bars and a few supplies. It's probably expensive here, so I'm giving 4 stars, but everything is expensive out here. What else is new. Anyway, I'm in East Hampton, so it's kinda out of my way. But for more serious issues, I'd prob go back there. read more

If there was an alternative, I would never go to this bike shop again. The staff provides, by far, the worst customer service I've ever encountered. As far as I can tell, there are multiple people who work in this shop. It's hard to know, though, as every time I've gone in there, I've waited 10-15 minutes for someone to acknowledge me. When I decide that I've had enough of being polite and waiting to be helped and I look directly at someone who seems to be doing nothing and ask if they could possibly help me, I am met with injured looks and quick promises that someone will be with me quickly. 10-15 minutes after that, I'm lucky if someone finally bothers to look my way. Six weeks ago, I dropped off a bike to have the front inner tube repaired. No one ever called me to tell me it was ready and I wasn't in a huge rush, so it didn't much matter. Today i went in to pick it up. After waiting 25 minutes (as described above) for help, they couldn't find the bike in the system. I had to go outside with them to look in their lot for it. Needless to say, when we located it, the tire hadn't been fixed. The woman "helping" me said I could wait for them to fix it now! They basically said, "oops!" I almost never leave reviews but I cannot believe how bad these people are at their jobs. Also, they told me they did not have a single hybrid bike in my size (this was before the incident with the tire, so it was not as if they had reason not to sell me something). The shop is full of bikes, but apparently only in the $2k and up range. read more

Most retail shops really suck, but Rotations bucks the trend. I bought 2 bikes from Ben this Summer and plan on buying a third for my wife this Fall. After a number of different frames / bikes I couldn't get the fit right until he and I dialed it in on their "pro fit" machine and now am riding faster and more comfortable than ever. I would not buy a bike from anyone but Rick. He listens to the rider and finds the right bike. He is willing to adjust the bike for comfort at his expense. Unlike other shops that wanted me TO BUY AN ORDERED BIKE WITHOUT EVER RIDING IT ; this is not the case at rotations. I have the other reviews about follow up visits post sale at rotations.
