Rossini is conveniently located on the first floor of the Hilton Dresden. It has a upscale appearance upon entry and a professional host. When my party of three arrived on Saturday the manager was on a call and taking a reservation. When he came to greet us he checked his watch and reluctantly seated us at 2125 when the restaurant closed at 2200, if it was such a problem, why seat us? It would have been no issue to go to one of the other restaurants in the hotel.
The manager was very inpatient and rather annoyed by serving my party and treated us like we were not welcomed in the restaurant. I felt like I was not worthy to eat there by the managers attitude. The only staff that even attempted to treat us with any respect was the young man serving that evening. He was a highlight of our experience. When we asked the manager for the check he acknowledged us and went back to the tasks he was working on and after a few minutes still did not bring the bill. It was a fantastic display of how much we meant to him as a guest to him.
The food was ok, nothing that validated the price, but it was a hotel restaurant, so expectations were low and prices were high. The duck was over cooked and the risotto tasted a bit bland. The tiramisu and the sorbets were ok. Overall, if you have no other choice and this is your last option, than it will do, but I would not recommend it to anyone visiting Dresden. read more
