We showed up…read morejust four minutes before our tee time--literally walking up as the clock turned--and were told we couldn't rent a golf cart because their policy requires arriving five minutes early. Instead of working with us or offering any flexibility, they flat-out refused. What made it worse is that I had to come up with my own solutions just to keep the day moving, including asking if we could push our tee time back. They eventually delayed us 45 minutes anyway, but there was no effort on their end to help or accommodate--everything felt like it was on us to figure out. When we finally got out on the course, everything was backed up. We tried to keep pace by skipping a few holes, thinking we could make it up later--especially since it's a nine-hole course and we could've easily replayed holes 1 and 2. Instead, we were escorted off the course. The whole situation could have been handled with basic customer service and common sense. Instead, it felt rigid and unwelcoming. The staff seemed inexperienced and lacked the ability to problem-solve or take care of regular customers. Really disappointing experience all around.

That's exactly what happened here. It's especially frustrating considering this isn't some premium course. Being city-owned, you'd expect a more player-friendly experience, not random rules that make things harder. It completely threw off my mindset before I even teed off. Anyone who plays knows how important the mental side is, and starting your round irritated like that can ruin the entire experience. Ended up feeling like a waste of a round.

And before you ask "No, I can't get you on Cypress Point". I will say that for a public course run by the city of Salinas, CA it is a great place to tee it up and it is affordable. Green Fees are somewhere between $25-$45. Golf Carts are around $13 for 9 holes and $21 for 18 holes. The greens are Poa and run about 10 on the stimp meter. The fairways & rough are Kikuyu grass. The Pro Shop staff have a good boss and they are helpful and polite. The snack bar is good. I usually eat lunch here after the round and it always hits the spot. The driving range is located right near the 1st tee. Like most ranges you must hit off mats. Bathrooms are next to 2nd green, 6th tee, left of 6th fairway, 8th tee, at the turn in the snack bar, right of 11th fairway, behind the 14th green & 17th green. Come to think of it this course gets an A+ for total bathroom spots.

This review is about Corral De Tierra as wedding venue (I can't speak to the quality of the golf or…read morethe food). Last spring, my fiance and I looked at a ton of possible venues for our wedding, and Corral De Tierra was in our top two. Donal met with us in person more than once, and cheerfully sat through an incredibly detailed interrogation from me with no complaints. He was very responsive to questions throughout the process, and he was also really willing to be flexible with budget. Some venues we visited seemed aghast that, yes, people have budgets for their weddings, and then proceeded to look down on us. That wasn't the case here at all. We did end up choosing another venue, but it was mostly because of proximity to were we live. I actually wished we could have switched our coordinator at the other venue with Donal, because I felt like he cared about how our event turned out. Anyway, although we didn't choose Corral De Tierra in the end, I would definitely recommend it as a place to check out if you're getting married in the area. You'll be treated much more nicely than some other places.

Beautiful location, ample parking, clean bathrooms, & stunning views!…read more I recently attended a luncheon in the small event room with a large balcony. It's a great spot for small events (less than 50 people). Acoustics are poor due to the high ceiling, so I recommend a sound system setup with multiple portable speakers so no one misses anything shared by the host or guest speakers. The meal was delicious. I had mushroom pasta Alfredo, but other selections included grilled salmon & breaded chicken breast. Each were nicely presented & flavorful. Beverages were available at a station only, but the room was so tightly packed with tables & chairs that movement was limited so I went thirsty. The servers weren't available to assist. Unfortunately, the lunch wasn't served by table; so guests sat with their hot meals cooling rapidly while one type of entree was served at a time. This is very bad etiquette & leave the guests feeling uncomfortable, especially with cold food when everyone is finally served. Food service was delayed long past the end of the speaker's program, so most people left before dessert was served. In fact, many people were unable to stay for the weird entree service & missed it. Whatta waste since the luncheon was hosted by a nonprofit. View is exceptional, but table service needs a skilled event manager who can 'read the room' & prompt the Chef and servers to provide the main course in a more timely way. Hopefully, the nonprofit received a substantial discount for this poorly managed meal.

I advise everyone to avoid Leguna Seca Golf Ranch as a venue for your wedding…read more My son and daughter-in-law got married there this past Saturday (7/19/2025) and while the location made for a beautiful backdrop to the ceremony and photos, so much of their contract was not honored that it made things very stressful. We were supposed to have the patio (where the ceremony took place) and the room adjacent to it until a minimum of 3:30pm. We were also contracted to have two bartenders dedicated to our event, the use of their speaker system, a coordinator to help keep the ceremony on schedule, bridal photos on the golf course, and a slew of other things promised but never delivered. Instead, after the ceremony (about 1:00 or 1:30), Leguna Seca personnel rudely started telling the bride, groom, wedding party, and all guests that they had another event that day (which turned out to be untrue) so we were to clean everything up and leave immediately. It was a mad scramble to gather all of our stuff before Leguna Seca staff tossed it in the garbage and locked us out of the room (which they tried to do before we were done). As a result, my kids were not able to gather with their friends and family after pictures were done so we did not get to toast the bride and groom, make our speeches, watch them do their first dance, etc. This was extremely upsetting and robbed my kids of some very special memories of their special day. Shame on Leguna Seca for not living up to their end of the contract but feeling free to take many thousands of dollars from us for the venue fee, golf fees on Friday, and large alcohol tabs (Friday while playing golf and during the rehearsal plus Saturday during the wedding). To make matters worse, on wedding day we had to share the main bar and one bartender (the only kind and considerate staff member we encountered) with golfers which made the line to get a drink out of control. To say I am a mad Mom because of what this venue did to my kids special day would be a gross understatement. Fortunately, my kids are resilient and awesome and chose to focus on the positive aspects of the day instead of Leguna Seca's unprofessional actions.

Pro shop staff were great and helpful, paid $25 less than what I was expecting which was great. Let me start by saying this. When you come to a place like this golf course, as soon as you pay grab your cart and bag etc and immediately go see the starter. Check in with them. Our starter, an older gentleman seen we were about 90 minutes early to our tee time. We went to the range etc and upon just putting, he seen us and said we could go right now if we were ready which was almost 40 minutes ahead of schedule. He gave us some pointers etc on the course which helped a ton. The course had our 4 some completed in 3.5 hours of play. The course was in unbelievable shape and the greens were as hard as they get next to probably a US Open. What a great challenge and can't wait to come back here again.

Biggest complaint there is the slow play. Bayonet we played the round 5:15 mins and Black Horse we played that round 5:30 mins. We were 55 mins behind pace of play when we got to hole 18 and had to wait on the tee box. We waited on average 10mins on each tee boxes and No Marshalls to be seen on either days. We called the club house when we played Black Horse on hole 5. They never showed up. Would I recommend these courses to play? Yes, but get an early tee time.

They charge $25 per person, unlimited balls. A little pricey compared to the other driving ranges around but worth the try since we were in the area. There's a limit to how far you can hit your ball (180 yards) because it's not a big enough space and there are houses nearby. The pro shop looked well stocked with golf clothes, footwear, accessories. I'm sure there were golf clubs (I didn't really look, but I'm pretty sure I saw some bags). Lastly, they have strict dress code- both at the course and at the range- no denim, no t-shirt's, no sweats. Didn't know this prior to coming here.
