Staff are friendly and helpful, and as well as selling wines, Kies also sells teas. There's a HUGE variety of teas and blends, and choosing is hard, because if you love tea, you want all the tea! There's a great selection of tea-ware too, cups, mugs, teapots, spoons, etc, which is bright and colourful. The attached cafe, called Monkey Nut Cafe, is great, good food and helpful, prompt service. But most people come for the wine, and it really is worth a drive up to the Barossa to enjoy the selection of reds, whites, a rose and ports.

They sat us down and put glasses in front of us, and started pouring and explaining about the wine we were drinking. Our host was excellent and answered all of our questions. After about 3 or 4 tastings, 2 huge charcuterie platters arrived, and they were perfect and paired well with the wines. We worked our way up to the best wines, and each one was more impressive than the last. And while Fortified Wine was not on the tasting schedule, they let us try some of the Port, delicious! After our tasting, we walked around the property and took a great photo of our group in front of their sign. All in all, great wine, great winery adn friendly staff- I WILL be back!

I'm not the world's biggest port fan, but those in our party that were swooned at their Tawny. Staff were super nice even though they were busy at times juggling different groups. It's a boutique winery only open on the weekends. After heading straight to the open lawn and taking in the scenery, we headed inside to see if they had tastings available. They place all the bottles on the counter that they are available to taste so sometimes the items on the tasting menu they have in front of you isn't the same. The man who started our tasting for us wasn't the kindest and that's unfortunate because it cost the place a star. He was short and got us started for our tasting but then started serving other customers that came in. Another staff member continued and served us a few other options but a smile and a little more attentiveness to your customers would go along way. I loved the 2013 Sparkling Frontignac. OMG! It was very me. It's fresh, crispy, bubbly, and has touches of peach! I love peaches and the sip from start to finish was great! I really wish that I had purchased a bottle now. The food coming from the kitchen smelled wonderful! They had cheese platters, brushetta, and pizzas available. I wish we could come a little later so we could have had lunch but we started our tour here and ended up having coffees or a glass of sparkling in my case! Great place where I saw families with kids, big groups, a 50th birthday celebration, and couples. It's a place for everyone!

If on a budget and you just want a big slice of pizza and a glass of wine then this place is perfect but the winery lunch has moved so far from this place in recent years. Even with the pizzas after getting used to gourmet wood fired thin pizzas now available in so many places it was a bit hard going back to these old style thick greasy cheesey salty Pizzas. The bruschetta was good though but after that you don't feel like more of the same on a pizza. I suspect they cater mostly to locals and they do what they do well. With their set system they can serve a large number of people quickly so unlike other winery restaurants that try to get too complex you won't have to wait long. Great lawn area for kids and a great place for a big group on a budget. The service was prompt and everything was hot.

Beautiful grounds, fantastic staff…read more Another stop on my trailhopper tour of the Barossa Valley. Stepping onto the beautiful property you knew this was going to be a great stop. I was offered a variety of tasting options, but of course I went with the wine and chocolate pairing. Two of my favorite things. Yeah. The paired chocolates came from a local German chocolatier- Cuvée. It's mid morning so let's start with bubbles. 2021 Dry Rosé $20AU was accompanied by Bianco 35%. The very light Grenache had simply the perfect hint of strawberries. Delicate. With the white chocolate melting on your tongue, it was a devine strawberry and cream sensation. 2021 Garden of Eden Shiraz $25AU was paired with Soleo 42%. Had a slightly dry finish, light tannins, and my favorite mix of cherry and blackberry. The milk chocolate was still a rich flavor with a hint of caramel. 2019 Blockhead Shiraz Grenache $26AU with Amphora 65%. This wine was first released in 2017 and is designed to be drink now wine. Very food friendly. Plum and red berries with a spicy finish. Definitely needed the bold blend of this chocolate. Light fruit up front finishing with layers of natural acidity. 2020 Butchers Cart Shiraz $35AU accompanied Grand Cru 75%. This lush velvet wine had a hint of American Oak. Blackberry, plum, and black pepper. The chocolate had cherry and plum notes. I love dark chocolate, so this was my favorite. I will totally return they have SO many other Shiraz to taste my way through. On a beautiful day I recommend having your tasting on the patio.

Wow, great way to find out about new wines in Australia that we don't get in Hawaii as well as meet some new friends.
