First time as a shopping visitor here and might be my last. 1 star for Customer Service as there were none! Horrible management and organization of the store and check out process! They have 1 cashier who takes ONLY CASH and one who takes card. Which store just has 1 person for each or one machine for each type of payment?! They're usually for both payment types per register, so that was a new experience for us. The customers were also confused as to which counter to go to since there were no signs. 3 Stars for the prices and good selection of items in the store. I don't usually post reviews for retail stores but as this is the second time an employee/cashier has been rude I need management to see this. I know most likely won't happen and that's cool; I still want to vent lol! Last time the cashier was already calling a customer over as she was checking my items out. Like bro, I don't want anyone seeing the pin to my card, this is like basic knowledge. Why not wait until the customer you are helping is COMPLETELY done with their purchase before moving on to the next one??! Like I don't mean to insult anyone's intelligence but it seemed to have missed a few ppl here. Today the cashier with Associate ID: 2429209 rushed the customer before me, did not even say hi to me as she called me over and barely looked at me as she basically threw my bag of items and receipt at me. Like bro, the disrespect is loud and clear. If I wanted to catch an assault charge it might've been worth it today, I don't know... Management needs to retrain their employees. I get this location sucks ass; kids crying, parents checked out, clothes and other items thrown everywhere, the selection of stuff sucks. But good lord TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES BETTER. First time I came here it was overcrowded and sadly a mess. Decided to go back and give it a try again. Not too many clothes for teens in an XS size. Wasn't messy and lines were long but was rather quick for only one check stand open that surprised me. I can't remember who the checker name was but she was very efficient. read more

Disappointed. After shopping and waiting in line for 40min in the morning, I get to the register and I'm not given any bags or help to bring my items out. I refuse to pay for plastic bags and they refused to give me "ONE", after spending 400. She asked why would I not pay for a bag after spending that much money. Why should I pay for a "PLASTIC BAG" when it's illegal for them to even give them away in Seattle? How come they don't have paper bags to help the environment and want to sell us plastic bags. How caring they are about our universe and their customers. They don't care about nothing but your $$. They have shirts and pants I had to comb through because a lot were more dirty than my clothes in my laundry basket. They need to get it together. Lets be real now. This is Ross (dress for less). Like any Ross you go to, there's going to be security at the front to prevent "loss prevention", clothes on the floor and on racks where they should not belong, items missing in boxes, not so great all around. If you're looking for bargains or something temporary and cheap, you go here. Find what you need for less. Sometimes you'll be surprised with what you can find. Everyone's pretty accurate about the customer service though. I was in line with 3 people in front of me at about 6pm. There was only 1 gal working the registers. Suddenly, 2 people got in the return/exchange line. She had to call for help. 2 girls showed up and 1 girl started doing the returns/exchanges. The girl who was solo was getting off her shift. Assuming the third girl would hop on to ring... she DIDN'T! Normally, if you see a line that long, try to hop on and have these people check out. The longer they wait, chances are they will just get fed up and not buy a thing. Eventually... Another girl got on the register and I was finally able to pay for my things. In the middle of my transaction, she takes out her phone and checks it. What is wrong with these kids? It's just plain rude. Maybe do that after you finish checking a customer out. So, in conclusion, if you can battle the customer service and sloppyness of the store for bargain prices, don't complain. You know what you're walking into. read more

My family and I went into ross to get some things and the shoe area was a mess (sizes in places they shouldn't be) ...the line was so long and there was only one cashier. they need to have a self-checkout and if that is not an option, there needs to be more workers. this is unfortune to see being as this is the closest ross near my house. i do love ross itself but this location really needs some work. read more

I wasn't a fan with the lady with purple hair she was very blunt with her words talking about her personal life and everyone could hear. I've always come to this Ross or the one now located at the Landing in Renton. I admit, i have had more success finding things in the Renton Ross vs this one. This tend to be all over here, especially clothes, shoes and toys. It's a hit miss kinda thing. I admit its affordable and you def are saving money, but the time you are spending looking for things you like- very time consuming. There are a few staff members that have been here for 15+ years, and alot of young ones ive seen come and go. the bathroom here is always nasty or smelling bad, youll be afraid to sit on the toilet seat. You def can do back to school shopping here for a few hundred bucks for a couple of kids if you dont care about name brand labels. Ive always been able to dress my kids really cute without spending a ton on namebrands. read more

This Ross is the worst store I have ever been in. There was filth all over the floor, every thing was a mess. People let their kids run all over and you had to be careful or get run over by a cart. The place was so dirty I could nor believe it was a Ross. The one in Issaquah is nice the one in Kent is just for dirty people. So sad to see. I will never go back. My daughter, an adult, was as disgusted as I was. There should be a law against this kind of thing. The line to get waited on was so long it would take a long time to get help so we left. I wish I had taken pictures. So if you like Ross and want to go to a clean store go to Issaquah as it is clean. You also can't take the carts out of the store like other stores. Unfortunately this Ross is close to my house so this is my go-to, but every time I go, it's always trashed. Why? Because they let their clientele let their children run around all over the place. Honestly, it doesn't matter what Ross it seems to be- if you are in a hot-spot location where the income is probably low all around, this is what you are going to get. But this particular Ross...man, it gets bad. You either gotta go first thing in the morning, or, never...even going at 10pm at night, you will get the clientele who, for some ungodly reason, want to bring their entire family with their 7 kids aging 3m-10years. SMH My husband and I went last weekend, and there was a line at this time of night. There were 2 cashiers open. Then one of the cashiers leaves his register, to go deal with hangers. This is one of the worst Ross's I've ever been to. The staff is so unfriendly & unhelpful. The restroom was atrocious. I told the fitting room lady & she told me to tell the manager that was walking up. I was busy with my daughter when she walked up, said something to the fitting room lady then walked off. Not a word was said about the restroom. When I got up to the checkout the lady was almost rude. Not a "hi, how's your day? Did you find everything? Nothing. Don't go for the security guy in the back who gives out numbered cards when women want to try on clothes. He won't give you enough attention beyond counting the hangers in your hand. Don't go for the organization, cleanliness, and consistent product coverage. It doesn't exist. No, you go to Ross because it's the official Brand New Clothes Hand Me Down Store. It's a bargain. It's a garage sale chain. And sometimes...after neighborhood after neighborhood and garage after garage... You get lucky. So take heed and be warned, shopping fans. This Ross is NOT good. The selection is just depressing! They have a lot of clothes (this takes up the majority of the store), but little to nothing else. The housewares selection is unorganized and half empty, the furniture selection is laughable, and there were hardly any holiday items! I left without buying anything, but I'm glad I did - the lines were quite long with only two cashiers working. I will probably not return to this location. read more

People always reacts to things that they don't really understand. I am here to educate you guys and give you some information how Ross conduct their bussiness. People always complains about bad customer service, or always being harrased for theft, etc. And so I asked a friend of mine who was a previews Ross Store manager and I was shocked what he told me about the company itself. 1. ROSS is owned by Corporate and we all know that these blood sucking corporate needs to bump up their sales every year or they go out of bussiness. Put yourself on their position, why would you invest on something that does not improve every year (stock wise). So what happens during times when bussiness is slow? Will they lose money? The answer is NO! In order to compensate loses they will cut expenses like employee's salary budget. As a result less employee will work in a day. I was told that that the Ross Store in Puyallup have 2-3 employees working on 1 department because that store is making good money and less theft. In comparison to Ross Kent, as we all know the surrounding area is not really good or should I say ghetto, the store is one of the largest theft trend store in Washington. So in order to compensate the loss, corporate cuts the salary budget. So instead of having 2-3 employee on a specific department, I was told that they have 1 employee doing 2 different department while doing the cashier at the same time. So don't be surprise if the lady who works by the shoe department does not have a good customer service attitude because at a minimun wage she is trying to pick up every items these customer is throwing on the floor. NOt only that, she is being called to the cashier most of the times to help out cut the line, while customers keep throwing stuff on the floor or maybe cutting hard tags and stealing them. So in part, managers or employees are not to blame for less people working on that specific day. They just don't have the budget to pay more employees to come in. This is actually good news for shop lifters! Less eyes on them doing what they do best. 2. I was told that THE COMPANY WILL NOT PAY EMPLOYEES IF THEY GET INTO SOME KIND OF ACCIDENT PASS THE CURVE(across the street). So don't expect for them to help you carry out to your cars. What if they get hit by a car? Who's gonna pay their medical bills? This is also the reason why the carts have a large pole on it, so it won't go outside. Because the company does not have the budget to hire extra employee and the insurance won't pay them if they step pass the curve. 3. And how about the security, why do you think they are mostly into thinking everybody steals? Well, come to think about it, this is bussiness and corporate will do anything in order to cut the losses. Maybe try shopping in Ross Puyallup where customers are more responsible and you can see the difference in security. So next time you shop at Ross try to understand that this is not Nordstrom or your neighborhood Macy's. As the slogan says "where you can find treasures everyday" which means you have to dig to find good quality bargain items. Try to understand that employees who work at Ross are just trying to make a living. Sometimes its not their fault why they have less employees who works at a specific day or how the store looks messy. They just don't have enough employee to keep up with messy shopper. read more

Bought a table from here and picked it up out of my cart to be scanned and then set it on the floor. Left it there. Called on my way home and the girl said she had seen that I left it and would put it in the back with a note on it with my name for when I returned the following day. Anyways, drove 25 min back down the following day and ofcourse nobody had any idea what I was talking about or who I talked to. I went with my sister on the first day and ended up leaving my receipt in her car. I showed my pending charge, the card I had purchased the table on, asked if she could check the cameras for the day before since I had the exact time stamp of when I was in. She (Laurie) said none of those solutions would work, not even a picture of the receipt would work. I had to bring the receipt in. I needed an urn for ashes for a loved one. The cemetery's urns were priced from $75 for an ordinary flower vase to thousands for the most ornate. My sister said she saw some nice ones at Ross! for a fraction of the cost. Sure enough, I found one for $20 that was beautiful. When I brought it in to the cemetery office, the man hesitantly asked where I got it and how much I paid. Thought he was going to faint when I told him. He said it was exactly what I would have gotten there for much more. I didn't have the gall to ask him how much more. read more

I went to Ross to make an exchange; presented a receipt; was told it was already returned; I had two receipts in hand & tried explained that I never returned the shoes. Manager Zayra came; she was rude!!! I asked for respect; told me respect is earned; if I don't give respect you don't get respect. She got very confrontational & argumentative as I tried to defuse her nasty, unprofessional attitude; she got worse. Demand that I call a number on the back of the transaction receipt but it was regarding electronic checks; I told her that & when I called that's what they service for checks. In so many words she told me I deserve to be spoken to in a disrespectful way & was proud about it. As a customer, I felt very attacked. Her being helpful was her telling me repeatedly she can't help me; nothing she can do. Then belittles me saying she's trying to help me but being extremely unprofessional towards me. Stood there with an attitude. I felt very unsafe as if she was going to do something to me like the Walmart FB videos. I asked her to change her tone towards me & she became worse. Very disrespectful!!! Lacks customer service & doesn't deserve to be in a management role because she clearly abuses her position. Abuse of her authority. I'm an HR Executive & can help hire far better employees than her. She was the absolute worst manager I encountered &not management material; Rude &unfriendly; unhelpful; She tried to justify her unprofessional &rude behavior by switching the narrative making it seem as though I was the problem so her behavior was justified. She needs to remember I am the customer. There is no justification to treat customers the way she treated me. I left my business card &asked that her boss Eric call me but he never did.
