We hired this Company to do my Granddaughters Patio Cover and Electrical. He did the Patio Cover without taking out a Building Permit. After the Patio Cover and Electrical was Completed we Paid Him Additional to go to the City, Procure a Building Permit and Have it Inspected. That was probably 3 months ago and we still do not have the Building Permit or the Signed Off Job Card. He told us that he was going to connect the electrical thru the exterior wall above the Patio Cover Roof but Instead he ran an Exposed Conduit up the wall under the Patio Cover. Again Didn't Do what he said that he was going to do. This Whole Patio Cover has Probably been going on for 6 months or more. I don't know whether the Yelp communication system is clunky or the businesses just aren't interested. Who out there knows a good, reliable and trustworthy concrete guy? No one I knew before did, and neither did I until I called Efrain at Rosoca construction. I have had concrete work done by several different outfits in the past, and every time, the work was sub-par, over priced, and the guy was flakey as can be. On my current home, the concrete guy I used scammed a bunch of my neighbors out of thousands of dollars and turned out to be the most unreliable and shifty guy I ever met. So, I asked around, and out of all my friends only one recommendation came up for me and he warned me that the guy was flakey (big surprise) but did good work. The guy came out and bid my job but it seemed really high. I needed to have all my drains redone, and a bunch of decomposed granite and dead grass hauled away to be replaced with concrete and artificial turf. I ended up going on yelp and finding Rosoca Construction. He had a lot of positive reviews and was local to me so I messaged them on yelp on a Saturday afternoon and received a response in minutes which I did not expect. I met Efrain, who said he could come by in a half hour and give me a free estimate. Efrain came over and we walked into the backyard i the pouring rain. I explained the job to him and he got his laser measuring device out and took measurements. He got all the measurements and said he could put the numbers together in a day or two. I thought, ok this seems more legit than the last guy who just came over here, whipped out a tape measure, wrote down everything on his hand and pulled a ridiculous number out of the air in 10 minutes. Anyway, we parted ways and to my surprise, a few hours later he gave me a quote for the job with different option pricing for things we discussed. It was substantially lower than the other guy that bid the job, so I was already interested. Efrain came by another day to discuss the job and I let him know that I am very skeptical of any concrete company because all I know is horror stories and have experienced a nightmare myself with this same property. We discussed it further and came to an agreement regarding the payment that made me feel 100% confident he would finish the job and I wouldn't get taken advantage of. He pulled up an actual contract and I signed it that day. His crew started immediately working on Tuesday morning removing the old material (by hand because a bobcat won't fit through my gate) that in itself was a huge job and they knocked it out ridiculously fast. I was on vacation at the time so I was able to watch the entire job as it went on. His guys worked nonstop from 7am to 5 or 6 pm Tuesday through Friday prepping for the new concrete, turf and drainage. Before they left each day they swept my driveway and backyard existing concrete and picked up all the trash material which I really appreciated. I saw Efrain out there and talked to him almost every day. He was so meticulous with the grade for the drainage and answered all my question in person and through text without hesitation and with confidence as I will admit I was a pain in the rear end I'm sure! He's a good guy and as I got to know him and a few times I remember saying, I'm sorry to be that pain in the rear customer with all my questions. He was very polite and said he understood my concerns and I could feel free to ask him anything as this was my house and he wanted me to be happy. That really put me at ease. Saturday morning the concrete truck arrived and his guys got right on it. It was awesome because I was able to watch the job unfold. Let me tell you, his crew is skilled!!! They were smooth and knew exactly what they were doing as if they were all synchronized. And my turf turned out excellent and was installed with great precision. We have lived here 5 years now and we have spent more time with my kids in the backyard in the last couple months than we have in the entire 5years we've lived here!! My kids are back there all the time now riding their bikes around the little sidewalk he built, my dogs are out running through the artificial turf every day and it is holding up great. The concrete work is a work of art. Literally, an absolute work of art. He uses better grade concrete and looking at my existing concrete compared to the work I just received I can tell it is a high quality mixture. It has rained quite a bit after the job was done and my yard never floods anymore, it is always clean and I get nothing but compliments from any guest that comes over to the house. I am very grateful to have found Efrain at Rosoca Construction, and I will be and have been recommending him to anyone in need of concrete or artificial turf. I am very disappointed with my experience dealing Efrain and Rosoca Construction. He came and looked at my job Wednesday 4/26 and said I would receive the estimate by Saturday 4/29. Saturday I messaged him with no response. On Wednesday 5/2, I called him and he assured me I would receive the estimate by the next day, Thursday 5/3. It is now Saturday 5/5 and still nothing. Nine days later, I am feeling frusterated with this company. Efrain should have just told me he was not interested in doing my job and I would have been fine with that. Used this company for my patio cover, they did a great job they were in and out in one day. Total time from signing the contract to patio cover erection was just under 3 weeks. Company does good work. They are on the higher end price wise but they get the job done right the first time. Also used them for some concrete work for my mothers home, that didn't go as smooth as the patio cover. It took them 3 months to finish the job, work was done well however they didn't even offer a discount for the inconvenience. And on top of that one of the guys took my mother's ladder from the backyard and put it in their truck without permission. Mother seen it happen and called them out, was told they would bring it back in a few days. Shouldn't have taken it without permission. They apologized for the incident but that coupled with the fact it took 3 months to finish put a bad taste in my mouth. Efrain, one of the owners, kept in excellent communication with me the entire time of our Patio Cover installation from start to after completion to make sure everything went smoothly. It was done on a very timely basis. The actual installation took one day - the cover was 16' x 36' so pretty large. The patio cover is absolutely wonderful, sturdy construction & very nice-looking.
