I met some friends here for brunch recently and had a very pleasant experience. We arrived around 11 am on a Wednesday and the place was packed, so the 5 of us had to wait about 20 minutes. It's clearly very popular with new mums, ladies who lunch, and older couples. Apparently in nice weather, it opens up onto the park in back which sounds lovely.
I enjoyed my avocado toast with feta, mixed seeds, and poached eggs. It was a filling and healthy lunch for £7, and everything was very fresh. Eggs perfectly poached, buttery avocado, and the feta added a really inspired tang to the dish. I recall they had a nice variety of herbal tea. I had a mint tea which I was told had no caffeine in it, but it tasted a lot like mint green tea to me, so I'm not 100% sure about that. Still, I like that the teas are served loose (I hate paying £2 for tea in a teabag).
It's hidden away inside the shopping centre, but is clearly a well-known neighborhood place for breakfast and lunch. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Gosforth, especially in the summer months when you can enjoy the park afterward! read more
