I had a very unpleasant experience at this Social Security office due solely to the conduct of the…read moresecurity guard at the entrance. I approached the building during active rain and attempted to open the door, as one would normally do at any public building. The male security guard stationed at the main entrance, who was shorter in height, stocky in build, with black hair, dark eyes, and dark skin, abruptly stepped outside, physically blocked the door, and addressed me in a hostile, authoritarian manner. There was no visible signage or clear instruction indicating that visitors were required to wait for the guard to open the door, and I had no way of knowing this beforehand. Rather than showing basic courtesy or calmly explaining the procedure--especially given the weather--the guard chose to be confrontational and dismissive. The interaction felt like an unnecessary power trip and was completely inappropriate for a public-facing federal office. I am giving one star due to the lack of professionalism, courtesy, and basic human consideration shown by the security staff. This experience was avoidable and left a very negative impression.

He was guarding the door so my husband and I asked for assistance and before I could finish explaining to him why we were there he cut us off saying "get to the point." Maybe I could empathize if I was taking up time or holding up a line but there was no one behind us and I barely talked for 10 seconds at this point. I was appalled because we are not rude people and spoke to him with respect. I finished telling him anyway that I had to drive over there because he sent my mom away and her English is not good, he said they can provide translation for her over the phone and kept repeating that when I asked if they did not have one in person or anyone to assist her with calling if I can't be there next time with her. I've never met a person who has made me that uncomfortable especially since he works with social security office to help people who are in need. Please hire more patient and kind people. I don't want to be worried about my mom coming here by herself again.

We were here for a traffic violation of the texting variety. Parking was packed even before 9 on a Monday. Got through to security and proceeded to get our service wait tickets via an e-kiosk. It took about 10 minutes before we were registered and told to go to room 30 where the traffic violations were being heard. Upon entering this courtroom, the judge was hearing testimony from a police officer while the "violating" party sat in the table a few chairs from him. Mikes were sensitive enough for testimonies to be heard inside. I figured that those who contested their citations went first as the arresting officer were present during the hearing. This went on for some time, and a 15-minute recess ended the scheduled disputes. It went like a breeze after that as those with petty traffic citations were summoned in batches of three's. I sat with my teen during the proceeding and the judge was thankful for my presence. We luckily got off a forgiveness as this first-time violator was a minor. We spent a total of 2 hrs and 30 minutes overall. Not quite what I planned for a Monday morning, but I'm sure glad it got the result it did.

The courtrooms are a little outdated but the technology is spot on. Staff at metal detectors are friendly and cleaning staff is always super nice. The clerks know what they are doing and it is one of the more enjoyable/modern looking courthouses to visit.

Even though I owned a house here for 9 years that was an income property, I never seriously considered to live in it. Thought I'd live in Sonoma until I died. Well, at the behest of my adoptive Roseville family and the urging of my wife I capitulated to move. And after 10 months of being here I'm diggin' it. I actually like Roseville with an 85% approval rating. I like the excellent infrastructure. The roads are mostly in excellent condition. The tap water is drinkable without crinkling my nose. There's tons of retail for anything I could possible need or want. Lots of good mom n' pop reasonably priced restaurants. I have no children, my neighbors who do give the public school system high approval. Only have one major complaint: The driving habits of the local denizens is horrible to the max. Driving the 4 lane wide surface streets often feels like a demolition derby. Too many speeders, too many sudden lane cut-offs that make me jam on the brakes. The massive size pick up driving good ole' boys are the absolute worst. They drive like it's their constitutional right to commit vehicular manslaughter and laugh about it afterwards. My life long Roseville resident 34 year old nephew has been seriously rear ended twice in the past two months by teenagers who were texting while driving. Can't wait until 100% autonomous vehicles become the vehicle norm. Maybe I'll just start walking everywhere but then again I'd fear for my life every time I enter a crosswalk. Love y'a Roseville. My fellow citizens please drive like you respect the lives of others.
