Splash pad is up now! 5/4/19. It's going to be a great summer
Cody M.

Review is for the splash pad! Super awesome for the little ones. Get her early as they only have 7 tables and umbrellas. It can get really hot and you will need to take a break from time to time to get out of the sun. Trees near by but not much shade. Also... if your a germaphobe this is not the place for you. They recirculate the water. Super fun way to beat the heat though

Even though I owned a house here for 9 years that was an income property, I never seriously considered to live in it. Thought I'd live in Sonoma until I died. Well, at the behest of my adoptive Roseville family and the urging of my wife I capitulated to move. And after 10 months of being here I'm diggin' it. I actually like Roseville with an 85% approval rating. I like the excellent infrastructure. The roads are mostly in excellent condition. The tap water is drinkable without crinkling my nose. There's tons of retail for anything I could possible need or want. Lots of good mom n' pop reasonably priced restaurants. I have no children, my neighbors who do give the public school system high approval. Only have one major complaint: The driving habits of the local denizens is horrible to the max. Driving the 4 lane wide surface streets often feels like a demolition derby. Too many speeders, too many sudden lane cut-offs that make me jam on the brakes. The massive size pick up driving good ole' boys are the absolute worst. They drive like it's their constitutional right to commit vehicular manslaughter and laugh about it afterwards. My life long Roseville resident 34 year old nephew has been seriously rear ended twice in the past two months by teenagers who were texting while driving. Can't wait until 100% autonomous vehicles become the vehicle norm. Maybe I'll just start walking everywhere but then again I'd fear for my life every time I enter a crosswalk. Love y'a Roseville. My fellow citizens please drive like you respect the lives of others.

If you have only ever used your "phone" to text and order cannabis, the Roseville Telephone will be a great reminder of why your parents invented the iPhone. This museum is in downtown Roseville (yes, there is a downtown Roseville) with limited parking. Technical stuff. Admission is free. Hours are 10-2 only the first Saturday of the month, so you need to plan ahead for this place. The museum only covers phones to about 1990 with few cordless and mobile technologies. That said, there is a large collection of old phones and switchboard technology which is worth the visit. They have a few displays of manual switchboards used up to the 1980's and some interesting switches from the exchanges. Some other highlights are the novelty phones released quickly after you were allowed to buy a phone. The value of the museum are the volunteers who can explain a lot of the history and provide demonstrations of the technology. These people worked for the phone company and are great! It is hard to explain how much it changed society when you could call someone on a telephone. I personally have seen rotary dials, long distance carriers, modems, and wireless develop in my lifetime. The Roseville Telephone Museum is a great place for friends and family to reach out and touch someone. You might even hear a pin drop!

We went here with our 3 and 5 year olds today…read more Pros: 1. Small play area, but still lots of room to play. Easy to keep an eye on the kids. 2. Bathrooms are right there, just outside of the play area. 3. Friendly help desk ladies. 4. Clean 5. Hand pedal trains were a huge hit, and they left my kiddos exhausted. 6. We forgot socks, they brought us some to borrow, they were clean and fresh. 7. Not crowded at all. Cons: 1. Small play area, no where to really run around. 2. TVs were ALL over the place. The play area had 5. Yes, 5, in a maybe 30x30' room. We requested they be turned off, as we were the only people there and were told no. When another family came the volume got turned up and it was uncomfortably loud, as well as fighting with the kids to keep them playing rather than watching tv. They really need to remove the TVs, there is absolutely no reason to have TVs in a play area. 4. The slide is really fast, which means that kids come hurtling out the end and fall. We pulled over some of the bean bag chairs and let the kids slide into them. Overall it was a good experience and we will go back. Although I really wish they'd reconsider their 'policy' of not turning the TVs off. It's ridiculous that when we were the only people there they still insisted they stay on. We went to let the kids play, not watch Disney Jr.
