If you believe it was more than the officer not showing showing up, you would be mistaken. That is the sole reason the case was thrown out. I have wasted enough time explaining facts to lawyers and attorneys. If you truely cared about truth you can start by looking in the mirror and quit lying to yourself. First, the music as I waited to speak to an attorney, about my loved one, who is facing very…read moreserious charges, is rock music. Don't get me wrong I love rock music just as much as the next, but I had this guitar solo blasting in my ear as I waited. I turned the volume on my phone all the way down and you could still hear it from across the room. When the line was picked up, it was a man I didn't catch his name. He began to ask me questions surrounding the case(s). The moment I began to answer or put any input into the things he was saying/asking he would loudly cut me off or talk over me and on to his next subject. I am very aware of the number of years my loved one is facing and he was not sensitive to that in the least bit. The circumstances are a bit complicated, long story short we already have an attorney, my loved one received new charges and his current attorney wants the total cost up front to take on the new cases. We just can't afford it. So, we have been searching for alternatives. He explained to me that it doesn't make sense for us to have multiple lawyers asked me what we were paying them, asked how much more they want upfront and told me that the price they offered was cheap, not in a calm, educating manner, but in blunt, aggressive, insensitive manner. He then proceeded to tell me how much their services would cost. Seemed reasonable enough considering the large, complicated case but not once did he advice of how they bill their clients, what the options are, is there payment plans? Just well it's going to be 80,000 dollars. I would like to note that I understand the cost, the reasoning behind multiple lawyers, all of it.
