Having lived in Arizona for over a decade with a clean driving record, dealing with criminal speeding tickets for the first time was one of the most stressful experiences of my life. I spoke with four different law firms before deciding to hire R&R Law Group, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. Working closely with Attorney Mackie and her legal assistant, Dulce, was truly a blessing. When I received my second ticket, I completely panicked and even cried because I was so overwhelmed. Throughout the entire process, Director of this law firm - Attorney Jushin Gill, Attorney Mackie and her legal team helped keep me calm and reassured. They worked hard to help me reach a favorable resolution on my first case before the second case even began in court. Trust me, this was one of the most nerve-racking and stressful experiences I have ever faced, and I will never forget it. I would say that the firm's fee of $2,500 per case is reasonable compared to other law firms I consulted. In my opinion, it was worth every penny. I turned the volume on my phone all the way down and you could still hear it from across the room. When the line was picked up, it was a man I didn't catch his name. He began to ask me questions surrounding the case(s). The moment I began to answer or put any input into the things he was saying/asking he would loudly cut me off or talk over me and on to his next subject. I am very aware of the number of years my loved one is facing and he was not sensitive to that in the least bit. The circumstances are a bit complicated, long story short we already have an attorney, my loved one received new charges and his current attorney wants the total cost up front to take on the new cases. We just can't afford it. So, we have been searching for alternatives. He explained to me that it doesn't make sense for us to have multiple lawyers asked me what we were paying them, asked how much more they want upfront and told me that the price they offered was cheap, not in a calm, educating manner, but in blunt, aggressive, insensitive manner. He then proceeded to tell me how much their services would cost. Seemed reasonable enough considering the large, complicated case but not once did he advice of how they bill their clients, what the options are, is there payment plans? Just well it's going to be 80,000 dollars. I would like to note that I understand the cost, the reasoning behind multiple lawyers, all of it. It's just the way I was bulldozed and ran me over the entire call. Thanks for your advice, dude. You rock!

I don't know what information is relevant, what information needs to be substantiated with evidence, or how I'm allowed to communicate in a courtroom under these pretenses. That's why I hired an attorney. I was assaulted by a man who lied to me about his identity. His true identity revealed that he is the author of a book that advocates for the assault of women. Obviously had I known that, I never would have gone out with him. There was an extreme amount of manipulation that followed the assault. The incident culminated with an altercation at my gym that prompted me to file a restraining order, which I was granted. I hired Kyle when the order was challenged. I filed a case against this man with the local police department. What I had to say was compelling enough that an undercover detective showed up to the hearing. I got a delayed start to working with Kyle because his team couldn't even be bothered to ensure they put the correct name on the contract. I didn't understand this (as most likely don't when entering a situation like this- that's why you hire an attorney) but the burden of proof is on the filer in a protective order hearing. Virtually no information was requested of me prior to the hearing. When asked about text communication I did tell him there wasn't much- my communication with the man I filed the RO against was months prior and I didn't remember the full extent of our conversation. A prepared attorney would have asked to see the texts anyway- the burden of proof is on the filer and he had literally nothing else to do to prepare. I had two witnesses, one of whom was very enthusiastic about being a part of this hearing. When we got to the courtroom I noticed he wasn't there, so I called him. He explained that Kyle told him he was going to confirm with him and that that did not happen. Regardless of who's error it was, I asked if he needed to come and Kyle said no. The hearing started very late and he lives right next to the courthouse and could have made it if I had insisted. I would have insisted had I known that I would not be able to reference anything that happened at the gym that day without his testimony. I don't understand why Kyle wouldn't have communicated this to me knowing the impact it would have on my ability to address any part of that very scary event. The fact that the man who assaulted me lied to me about his identity is far from irrelevant to this matter. Mesa PD are the ones who informed me of this- I had no idea that I would need to provide a witness from Mesa PD about how I arrived at this information. The judge did not allow me to say a single word about this. This is procedural information Kyle would have been privy to as an attorney. I failed to meet my burden of proof- or rather KYLE failed to meet the burden of proof. He failed to do his due diligence and look at the texts. He failed to connect with the witness, and failed to advise me appropriately when asked about whether the witness needed to come. He failed to provide evidence regarding the information I was given by the police on the true identity of my abuser, or to advise me appropriately. The worst thing happened- the protective order was dropped. Had I been doing this on my own without Kyle's council I would have taken the due diligence to research what was required of me and I would have shown up more prepared than I did with him by my side. I seriously doubt a detective would have been in that room on my behalf had my account really been that unreliable or outlandish. The outcome of that hearing has completely obliterated any chance I will ever have of justice for the sodomy I endured. It got much worse though, my abuser requested attorney fees and they were granted. Kyle decided it wasn't necessary or important to communicate with me as his client before he challenged the order, and the letter he wrote was weak at best. You can challenge attorney fees based on 3 considerations- whether this will prevent others from coming forward in the future, financial strain, and the merits of the claim. Kyle challenged the merits of the claim but didn't write anything about either of the other two considerations, both of which were very valid. I'm angry that he sent off the objection to the request for attorney fees without so much as asking me about it or having me review the letter. Had he taken a single moment to talk to me, he would have known that I spent most of last year on unemployment, as I was forced to restructure my business and basically start from scratch due to covid restrictions in the state of Oregon where I previously resided. He completely failed to represent me or my interests, as he took zero time to actually understand what those things are. ZERO STARS.

Extremely disappointing experience -- $4,000 for virtually no communication, advocacy, or…read moreaccountability My husband was charged with a DUI in April of this year, and we immediately retained this firm because of the positive reviews and our initial conversation with David. Looking back, hiring these attorneys was one of the worst decisions we could have made. After paying $4,000, communication with David was practically nonexistent. We went months without hearing from him, and when we did, it was generally through text. He rarely, if ever, called us unless we initiated the call ourselves. Most importantly, we felt that he did very little to actually advocate for my husband. My husband's circumstances were unusual in that he was not even driving his vehicle when he was pulled over, yet David essentially advised us to take the plea deal without making us feel that our specific circumstances had been meaningfully explored or advocated for. At the plea hearing on August 20th, we were represented by Derek. While he initially seemed more engaged than David, he made a major mistake by telling the judge that my husband wanted work release for his jail sentence when that was not what we had requested. Even worse, when going over the paperwork, Derek failed to tell us that obtaining work release required a doctor to complete and sign a form confirming that my husband did not have tuberculosis. We had no idea this form was required. As a direct result, when my husband self-surrendered to serve his three-day sentence, he spent approximately 10 hours waiting to be processed, only to be turned away by the jail because he did not have the required medical form. We immediately reached back out to David and Derek, expecting them to take responsibility and help correct the situation. Instead, we were told that they no longer represented my husband because sentencing had already occurred. Neither attorney took ownership of the mistake, and neither would take our calls. Communication was extremely difficult, and responses to our texts were minimal. So after paying $4,000 for legal representation, my husband and I had to go to the courthouse ourselves and stand before the judge to get instructions for him to surrender again a few days later--without work release--so that he could finally complete his sentence. Because of the errors and lack of communication surrounding the jail requirements, my husband ultimately had to spend additional time dealing with this situation beyond what should have been necessary for his original three-day sentence. Unfortunately, that wasn't the end of it. We were also never informed that my husband needed to complete an 8-hour MVD driving course in order to have his license reinstated. Because we were unaware of this requirement, he had his interlock device installed nearly a month ago, but that time does not count toward the required 18 months until the 8-hour course is completed. These are not minor inconveniences. These were consequential details that we relied on our attorneys to know, explain, and communicate to us. The most frustrating part has been the complete lack of accountability. When you pay thousands of dollars for attorneys, you expect communication, attention to detail, advocacy, and someone who will actually guide you through the process. Instead, we were left trying to figure things out ourselves after the most important parts of the case had already happened. I would not recommend this firm to anyone based on our experience. We hired attorneys so that we wouldn't have to navigate this process alone, yet that is exactly what we ended up having to do. And after reading the glowing reviews that initially convinced us to hire them, I honestly question how representative those reviews are of the experience we had. Do your research and ask very specific questions about what communication, representation, and post-sentencing assistance are actually included before giving this firm your money.
