He thoroughly arranged the necessary tests, including MRI, biopsy, and PSMA PET/CT, which led to a clear and timely diagnosis. Because I was concerned about the risk of infection, I specifically requested a transperineal (TP) biopsy, and Dr. Shinghal was very receptive and performed it without issue. I truly appreciated how he listened to my concerns and accommodated my request. After the cancer was confirmed, he took the time to clearly explain the available treatment options, discussing both the benefits and potential concerns of each. This helped me make an informed and confident decision about my treatment. His recommendation of Dr. Yao for surgery was excellent and made a meaningful difference in my overall care and outcome. Dr. Shinghal is professional, thoughtful, and genuinely patient-centered. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and trustworthy urologist.

He is kind, caring, empathetic and has a celebrity-like quality. I see angry/negative reviews and the problem I have with them is, I doubt Dr. Turek looked at anyone and said, "I can fix this without a doubt". If you're looking for certainty, I think it is highly unreasonable in this area. My wife and I understood this but would have stopped at nothing to build our family. I understand the cost involved is staggering but if Dr. Turek has any guidance it is worth following based on your desire and resolve. Diagnoses: Azoospermia Treatment: 1. Sperm mapping. 2. Varicocelectomy 3. As a result of the varicocelectomy not correcting, I underwent microTESE. One of the most important points I would like to make is, at the time of treatment I was in my mid to late 40's. I had never been under general anesthesia, been operated on nor had stitches. I was TERRIFIED knowing what I was about to go through. Literally my worst nightmare come true. I still have spontaneous thought inducing panic about the days leading up to my surgeries. I would do it all again without hesitation if it was Dr. Turek who was my physician/surgeon. I felt he was truly invested in our success and my care. He knew and understood my pain and anxiety. He knew how important this was to my wife and me.

He had the best side manners when both my wife and I spoke to him about the transplant program. My transplant match exchange came through 2yrs later in 2016 and I've been 8yrs clear and doing well. There was an 18 month up and down period before stabilizing but since end of 2018, it's been been living on borrowed time. I was fortunate to have 3 or 4 friends volunteer to donate a kidney to me but all ended not the best candidates. On after transplant surgery and since that the pandemic, I have been lucky to have follow-up semi-annual video visits with Dr Katznelson on half the visits. He is always so positive at each visit. I just had brain surgery Tuesday and he stopby Thursday to see how I was doing and glad he did. It was a refresh for a very exhausting 2 days. He did remember me, it was nice when he first walked in, gave me a firm handshake and said "finally nice to meet you in person, we've only met virtually." So that made me feel nice when people actually remember you! He sat and gave me a lot of information I didn't have. He even confirmed some false information I was given a while back. So now that I have the real info, I'll be doing what I can with it. He was patient and answered all my questions. Great doctor! Highly recommend him to anyone!

I was admitted with a kidney stone that left me literally kneeling by the hospital bed in agony when he first came in to see me. From the moment he walked in, his kind and calm demeanor made a huge difference. He treated me like a person, not just a patient in crisis. His expertise was clear, but what stood out most was his compassion. He reassured me in a moment when I felt completely overwhelmed, and he guided me through the procedure with such steady confidence that I felt safe placing my trust in him. Warning: Long review about Male infertility, IVF, Testosterone, Urologist…read more When my wife and I faced fertility challenges, her doctor recommended a semen analysis for me. The results were shocking: I had azoospermia--zero sperm in my ejaculate. I was devastated. Those were the darkest, most painful days of my life, and even now, the memory is haunting. I began searching for a urologist and I am immensely grateful to have found Dr. Karpman. As some reviews mention, he can be very straightforward and less emotionally soft at first--but to me, that was irrelevant. What truly matters is expertise, and that is where Dr. Karpman shines. Some reviews also note long wait times, but in my opinion, that is minor compared to finding a doctor who truly knows what they are doing. Dr. Karpman conducted another semen analysis, blood tests, and confirmed my azoospermia. He diagnosed it as non-obstructive based on a physical examination alone. His expertise became evident when he suggested an MRI of my pituitary gland after reviewing my hormone levels. The scan revealed an abnormality that might have been overlooked elsewhere. Unlike some doctors who may have immediately suggested surgical sperm retrieval, Dr. Karpman recommended medications to stimulate my pituitary gland. After three months on the medication, my semen analysis showed a few thousand non-motile sperm. While modest, it was encouraging--there was hope. Six months later, my sperm count had improved enough for IVF. I continued the treatment for several years as my wife and I navigated the challenging IVF and ICSI process. Throughout, I consistently had sufficient sperm for every egg retrieved. After multiple IVF attempts, chemical pregnancies, and even miscarriage, we finally achieved our dream. Today, I am holding my 6.5-month-old beautiful baby, and words cannot express my gratitude to Dr. Karpman. I still remember the day I feared I would never become a father. Never say never. I am not a religious person, but Dr. Karpman's treatment feels like a divine blessing. I sincerely wish him all the best and hope that anyone reading this who faces similar struggles will consider consulting him.
