I was the PA announcer for the longest football game in Rosemead High School history. The game began on Friday 10/12/2018 and concluded on Saturday 10/13/2018. With 7:28 left to go in the 2nd quarter a lightning storm caused the game to be postponed till 10:30 am on Saturday. In the end, Rosemead prevailed over the Gabrielino Eagles by a final score of 13-7. The only two day football game Rosemead had ever played. Plus, I took photos. read more

I was a bad student, skipped class, had poor grades, but once I was thrown into summer school, that all changed. I don't want to say it was one particular teacher who changed my view, because none of them really did, but they never really put me down which I liked... Many of them challenged me, in a sense even saw potential in me. I had teachers who cared and let me pass when I shouldn't have and teachers who didn't care and let me pass when I shouldn't have. But all in all, the teachers here were genuine, especially the younger teachers.. friendly, easy to talk too, and pretty down to earth except one or two............ ( I won't name names ) My only issue was that I was not prepped with the material I needed to know for college. I had a difficult time adjusting to community college, the basic material I should have known from high school I didn't know, especially mathematics. I had to learn everything again, maybe implementation of a better system to keep track of students comprehensive skills related to the subject matter might be nice. The ONE thing I did learn was how to work with different types of people and by that I mean teachers. Some wanted participation, others paperwork, some wanted to be liked, some wanted to be left alone, and I think I became pretty good at molding myself around (teachers) ideals and that is a very good life skill to have. The school was a concrete jungle full of cliques, drug issues, even had a few pregnant students. It has it's good things too, lots of fun crap to do, all clubs food sales, dance teams etc. I don't know how to thank them for letting me slide so I could reach further in my education. I did a lot of begging towards the end of my high school career trying to get my teachers to pass me because I was always on the cusp of failing, but miraculously I graduated. Now I'm working on my graduate degree! Thanks RHS for keeping it real. read more

It is an average school with average facilities. The teachers are respectful and know their material relatively well although some can be more of a "independent" study class. But I made this review specifically to warn incoming students as well as any students trying to pursue a foreign language. the school's Chinese language department is LACKING. The only teacher available is clearly incapable of teaching. She does not learn student names, nor what works for the class. She only knows how to assign homework with no explanation. If you're an "A" student or do not want to waste a year only to get a C in the end, avoid all Chinese classes in this school and opt for Spanish instead. The teacher for intro to Spanish is very kind and accommodating for all students. You will thank me later. read more

My review is for running on the track during the weekends. Track is super clean. They redid it from when I would visit this school when I was in high school. Street parking along Lower Azuza right infront of the track. Was empty when I ran at 8 am this past Sunday. Had an awesome run. read more

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA. I'm sorry, let me regain myself. I just still find it comedic that you can actually rate places like this. Ahhhh high school, or should I say Rosemead High School. It's quite an interesting place actually. The population consists mostly of about 50% asian, and 50% hispanic, but It works out rather nicely. I can't really complain too much though, because I was fortunate enough to be one of the people who actually enjoyed high school. Of course there were some moments I'd like to forget about, but overall the good outweighed the bad. I was lucky to have met a handful of awesome teachers who've made an impact, but I also met some complete douche bags. Stay away from the older guys, they're all perverts. Especially the ones located in the 50's hallway. Ex: Mr. Parkhurst, Mr. Mayne, Mr. Masiello. Ever since the school tried to promote a "healty lifestyle" the food turned into even more crap, but that could be a cover up for the school going broke. They really did a horrible at keeping track of their funds. A school project was put into place which was supposed to remodel all the restrooms, as well as adding a few, additional walkways, new bleachers, a new weight room, a refurbished gymnasium, landscaping and a new two story building. This started my freshman year, and was to be completed by the time my class graduated, the bleachers took about a year and a half, and the bathrooms took at least two and a half? the landscaping was one of the first things they did, follwed by the walkways, but they both seemed rather unnecessary. Literally weeks before my graduation they finally replaced the seats in the gym, and the floors were also redone, but i didnt see any difference. The new building and weight room didn't happen. There was also plans to knock down the Senior Patio and expand the library. WHY?! No one goes in there anyways! They planned to add some media center full of computers, we already had a computer lab, but we were never allowed to use it... writing this, I'm starting to realize how strange this school was. Well overall this place was good times. I'll miss those yearbook days. And dont even get me started on those humanities field trips! The class of '07 made a serious impact on that school, and forever changed so many things! haha. TRUST ME. read more

Climbed over the fence, no soul in sight, ran for two miles and called it a day. Sprint 4, 100 yard dashes, breath heavily and reminiscent the time when I was fast... the Bundy's years. Laid on the grass and watch the blue sky... Friday afternoon busy traffics seemed to fade to the background. It was just peace and I, we made a pretty good partner. Be nice if they have a clean drinking fountain and available restroom. But then again, I don't think I was suppose to be here. One of the worst schools ever, it got the golden ribbon once in like 2015 and still act as if it means anything now, well it isn't the same anymore. The staff barely know what their doing, the students are getting dumber, and I know what your thinking " how do you know this " cause i literally attend the school. I literally got a warning for using a different in a different building than usual??? There was no announcements about it, I can't find it in my emails and there has been no priority about it. I'm still not surprised how pathetic this high school is, I can't wrap my head around how boring we are, how dumb we are and how it's still somehow getting worse. They keep rehiring creepy staff, you can search up the hundreds of articles of the pervs that used to work here. The teachers barely care about what they're teaching. Don't get me wrong there are barely a handful of teachers who are cool here and genuinely understand and feel you but that's such a low number. There's teachers who think your only attending their classes, there's teachers who think they have all the power in the world, and there's teachers who gave up and it really shows. I have heard time and time again that people from ledesma high school literally a CONTINUATION SCHOOL they regret coming back because how lame it is here. They keep "adding" new rules that they even forget about, frankly this school is such a joke. If you or your kid want enjoy high send them to arroyo, gab or anywhere else cause this high school is only getting worse by the minute. I wish I can give this sorry excuse for a high school a 0 but yelp is too kind and only lets me drop it to a 1 which is frankly too high for this " high school ." read more

Just trying to survive. I got my first year done here and it wasn't a blast. I really sort of kind of miss my elementary school days. The teachers are laid-back and it's pretty easy to pass classes if you turn in your homework except for Chinese. I was on the slaughter board every single time in that class, I literally got a 10%. I'm not dumb, I just practically gave up with all the mess occurring throughout the year. Way too difficult for me to cope and absorb anything in my head when you're basically forced to shove 20 words in your head by the end of a 3 day span AND use them in sentences. Sucks for me because the majority of the people in the class took Chinese when they were wee-wee little. It is too easy to just walk into this school and just roam, seriously. Some of the campus supervisors are super cool and can talk to you without knowing your name and not make it feel awkward at all! The people (referring to students) are a bit on the "I do my thing, you do yours" side, though there are few social butterflies. I haven't met much people because everybody looks hard to approach and there are some definite badasses roaming around the campus. This school is segregated by Latinos and Asians and it's pretty hard to understand but even after decades of people actively speaking out about how everybody should be equal. I'm not really feeling much equality here. Everybody's kind of in their own little group, rarely do you see a group of Asians and Latinos together. But they do exist and we all co-exist in this little school. Have to be honest, I've thought about transferring to a different school because of the coldness of some people.. but too bad I live a 5 minute walking distance from my house to the main hall. read more

Bell is another strict teacher that was awesome. She taught me how to write a decent paper after many years of failure. You got your average school drama with popular people taking over every clubs.
