Not a teaching institution...teachers don't know how to and refuse to teach. They expect everyone get outside help. No guidance and no success in helping get into colleges. The number one student in the school ended up going to UCLA (what a joke). I really don't like having to say this, but the office lady at our school is very rude and impolite. Every time I've had to go in there, she acts like she doesn't want to help anyone. When you try to give her a clear reason for an absence -- even with a note or proof -- she still finds a way to not excuse it or make it a problem. It's really frustrating because students are just trying to do the right thing, but it feels like she doesn't care. She also never seems to have a positive attitude. Instead of being understanding or professional, she's usually short with people and makes you feel like you're bothering her. Honestly, whenever I have to go into that office, I feel nervous and uncomfortable because you never know how she's going to react. The office should be a place where students feel supported, not scared to walk in. read more

Can the attendance office be a little more professional. One of the office ladies was very impolite and rude when I was trying to explain to her my situation for attendance. I think her name was Melissa Randazzo and she handled the situation very poorly and unprofessionally. Similar to the previous comment, I hope AUSD does something about this because it really makes me and generally the students uncomfortable to go to the attendance office. read more

To think about it. Arcadia High has a very competitive high school. The school, sports and everything else is very competitive. For neurodiverse students, make sure when you are younger, focus on BCBA services, tutoring and communicating with teachers on the campus! read more

I come here to run at at the Track. I believe it is open to public on a daily after hours unless there are activities or events going on. Students are there for either sports or band practice on the field. But people are allow to walk/run around the track. it's super clean and people are pretty nice and mind their own business. read more

This review has to do with the band program only. We live blocks away from the school yet hear the band daily..yes even on wknds. We drove up to see why as all schools have students practice in their sound proof band room. Not here! The students are out in the asphalt FACING the road playing! At first I felt as if they were showing off..but now I'm thinking maybe the staff makes them play that way?! I've heard good things about this school academically and know they can afford a band room...yet please does the entire neighborhood have to hear you this often? It could also be a distraction to all the cars whizzing by. I understand being outside during football games or even practicing in the field- but this is not the case!! Their huge band is OUTSIDE practically on the sidewalk! read more

Came here for a sporting event. Found it horrible that accommodations weren't made for handicap spectators. They were only given the option to be dropped off which is unacceptable. There were parks available! read more

The school is currently undergoing a major campus overhaul with almost every nook and cranny of the institution being torn down and then rebuilt with something greater. As such, the school is beginning to take on a more college campus-esque style. Arcadia High School (AHS) has the colors yellow and (cardinal) red. There is a heavy emphasis on academics at this school which creates an "all-or-nothing" environment that brings out the best in a student or cracks them down. Those that don't cave in to this pressure tend to be more relaxed on campus though. There are a variety of clubs on campus and there is a time once every school year where students can go to a facility teacher and pitch to him if they may initiate a new club that is not on campus. NOTE: 11th grade AP English will no longer be a class choice for juniors beginning with the class of 2017 and onwards. This is subject to change so check with the administration. read more

It's wrong to write a review on a school that I have never personally experienced.. but I will say that the only reason why I come to Arcadia High is to use the track. The outside facilities is great! I love the track, it is that spongey-material that is better for your joints, and the football field is astroturf. Everything is kept clean and well maintained. There are people exercising as well, but they never get in my way. I wish my high school was as clean and well-kept as Arcadia High! read more

Class of 2011 :D I'm a bit disappointed that I graduated after all the amazing facilities were built -_- Only got to use the new graphic design area upstairs Other then that, I love all the staffs here and all the amazing teachers. My favorite teacher was Ms. Mu and Mrs.Belzer (blonde history teacher) omg lets hope that is her name.. fail.. Anyways, what I want to say is that these teachers are amazing, prob the best teachers out there. Oh, can't forget Ms.Tran from the counseling department. I'm proud to say that I graduated from this high school for many reasons :) but theres way too much info to tell haha no time for that! There are reasons people can't speak out about this school. Even if they want, they have no place. For anyone experienced this school, they would know why public schools are failing behind, lack of effort. This school has every element to be the top school nationwide, except it is not. read more

Waited a long time to write this review... Although I got into my first choice college, this school's counseling made it so complicated for me. The school's physical appearance was nice, I'll give them that. Otherwise, there was so much wrong with nearly every other department. I attended the football game at "Arcadia High School" in Arcadia, CA on 11/25/2011. I've been there a few times before. It was a CIF playoff game. The visiting La Mirada Matadors defeated the Arcadia Apaches by a score of 31 to 28. Arcadia's QB Miles Carr completed 22 of 36 passes for 378 yards and 3 TD's (and 3 interceptions) in a losing effort. AHS receiver Taylor Lagace had 10 catches for 131 yards. read more

My son is graduating from Arcadia High this year and for the most part it has been a positive experience. He struggled a bit with the size of the campus, but overall it has been a good experience. There is a lot of pressure to succeed, but in the end, I feel that the overall climate is supportive and friendly. I hope that the diversity grows over time. read more
