I had never came here for education, so I don't know anything about that…read more But I do come here almost weekly during the weekend to ball kids up. There is this manhole on the fence that allows people to go into the school, so that's pretty cool. The lights near the benches never close, so we could just you know order some pizza or some shit and eat over there when its too dark or your friends are too fat to walk. They have cool automatic lights on the grass that turn on when you don't need em and when you actually do need em they turn off, so that's pretty cool. Uhh its a pretty big place so if you wanna play hide 'n go seek then you could get lost in this joint. But that's why its fun, cause when you can't find someone you just quit and sit at the benches so they could hide for dayz. There's also market carts that you can take inside the school and push your friends with. This place is so chill that one day we all assembled here to play basketball and ended up playing charades and no basketball at all, so the ball boy had to walk back home and never came back again. Overall, you could do anything you want here during the weekends so thats pretty cool. Just don't come around the bench area cause thats like our home turf so, if you don't wanna get blasted, you know what to do.

Teacher to student ratio is ideal, tuition is extremely reasonable and the schools hot lunch is a big hit with my child. My child loves school, which says so much...but one thing that is so important to me is that she feels safe. Looking forward to the years to come where we can continue to experience the small but great community that is SGMES.

I as the one who picked them up, was usually greeted with, "this was the worse day ever!" Some parents were friendly, however most were not. When we arrived at San Gabriel, I was surprised to be greeted by some very friendly people who I acknowledge as great friends now! That was the same welcome my grandchildren received from not only the students, but all the staff as well! Dr. Barillas has been so friendly and is always there when needed! She always makes it a point to come up and strike up a lil conversation with me when she sees me. I like that! At Other schools the principal hides. I don't understand why there is so much negativity. I feel we all should look for the positive and make this school shine! The education my kids are receiving is great! The classes are smaller than others which allows the teachers to be more hands on if the kids need help. I appreciate all of the staff here! Thank you for welcoming us.

My daughter was attending a Montessori school prior to our looking into Clairbourn, and I felt that she needed more opportunities to perk her growing curiosity in life. Clairbourn School definitely has an abundant resources and opportunities to provide! What really made me so happy about switching over to Clairbourn was their strong emphasis on teaching and instilling kindness and respect for one another. Clairbourn also really felt like a family, a very caring and welcoming community. Every event they put on is so carefully thought out. Their back-to-school STEM event was amazing, the Grandparents/Parents Appreciation Days were so special, their Entrepreneur/Family BBQ was so much fun and their Christmas Show production was so well put-together. Unfortunately COVID hit us all by surprise in March 2020. I applaud how quickly Mrs Rankin learned and adapted to providing a virtual learning setting for the remainder of the school year. She personally dropped off weekly activity kits for my daughter and surprised us with a photo book at the end of the year with snapshots of our daughter's remote learning journey. We were looking forward to joining Ms Rubio's Pre-K class this past year, but due to LA County's Safer at Home mandate, their preschool was not able to open for in-person learning for Fall 2020. In the meantime, their head of school, Dr Patzlaff, and their lower school director, Mrs Paciorek, were very attentive and provided guidance on age appropriate activities our kids could engage in and continue in their development. They've been very communicative throughout this past year and very flexible and understanding of each family's situation. Your child will be loved at Clairbourn School--200%! You will have no doubts.

I was chosen with several other students to be on T.V. for a educational show. Ms. Adam was my teacher for this event. I remember the day JFK was killed by his limo driver was pretty surreal. The air smelled like rotten eggs, and you couldn't see more than a half mile. I'm grateful that I was able to attend school back when education was the emphasis, and not the way it is today.

However, she decided to sent my kid back to the classroom. She did not even bother to reach out to me or sent any note home to inform me about the incident. And then later during the conference with the principle, she tried to defend for herself . She claimed that she is not a RN and therefore, she cannot perform any assessment on student . So irresponsible! I wonder how she made her judgement to send my kid back to classroom if she cannot do any basic focus assessment ?! It is definitely lack of communication with parents. It must be the parents to make a decision whether or not to pick up their kids when incident occurs; because clearly the health assistance staff cannot assess !!!

This includes PTA meetings, fundraisers, programs that raise money for the school and overall participation in the activities of their children. I went to this school back in the day for my elementary days. A lot has changed as the classes have become more modernized and more up to date. The school has a large multipurpose field, two playgrounds, black top area, computer lab, library, basketball courts, outdoor seating and a cafeteria. There is also a separate day care center for day care as well as after school care. The teachers I had all retired from this school but they were monumental for my middle school and high school endeavors. In order to go to this school you must live in a certain radius. You can petition to go to this school if you're not in the radius. There is a drop off area to drop your kids off in front of the cafeteria but it does get busy when it is near school time. There is a crossing guard that is always looking out for children and parents so you don't have to worry about getting run over by the busy Mission Road/ Roses Road intersection. Coolidge is a CA distinguished school with high test scores year round. If you want a great elementary school and want to keep life long friends, this is the school to go to.
