The servers were friendly and the place felt safe to enjoy some sliced of delicious pizza. Especially their BBQ chicken pizza and Sicilian pizza. Definitely a good choice of a budget friendly lunch. Or dinner. read more

Who doesn't love beer in a clear solo cup with a straw this is always the first and last stop on our trips to Manhattan. I was sad to see that their storefront location had closed however, elated to discover that it was in Penn Station, which made the final destination before going home perfect. Pizza is good but the solo cup beer? I'll take 2! read more

Solid Pizza!!! Conveniently located in Penn Station.. It was brightly lit and plenty of tables to sit. . It was kept pretty clean. !The music was upbeat and definitely a vibe! There were a ton of differnt flavors almost like a pizza buffet. Pick however many you want, they take the slice(s) and heat them in the oven. The slices ranged from eggplant or veggie to many meat combinations like pepperoni with bacon to a classic Margherita.... The crust was right. The toppings to sauce to cheese ratio was on point and It also tasted good m Is this pizza winning awards? Probably not, but it is still good pizza. I would definitely recommend stopping in for a slice (or two or three) read more

Went in for late night and got a chicken bacon ranch slice and it was really good. Very tasty. I asked for it to go and they looked at me odd... I guess I know now in NY if you get take out you better eat it as is on the plate or waste a box. The pizza was warmed up and very delicious. Would come back! read more

This pizza joint is a standard stop here in Penn Station after seeing a game at the Garden for a slice and drink before getting on a train home. Different varieties of pizza to choose from. Decent beer selection too. Good to see it back after the station renovations were completed. Be aware that you're going to pay :tourist rates" here like if you're at an airport though! read more

They overcharge you. Pay Attention. My slice was $5.95 but was charged $6.80. 14.29% tax.

Picked up a grandchild from Amtrak and needed lunch; he wanted pizza and we didn't want to go far. This was perfect, in the passage between Moynihan and Penn. We ordered 5 slices ( 2 for grandpa, 1 1/2 each for teen and me) of their vegetable pizza, and it was excellent! I should've taken a picture; there was a ton of veggies on each slice! Onion, pepper, mushrooms and more. Tasted fresh, it was hot, slices were large. With a bottle of water plus tax, came to roughly $36., no more 25-cent slices of my youth, lol! Order at the counter and pay, and they yell it out when it's ready to pick up. Plenty of seating. read more

Overall, an ok slice that is in a convenient location of Penn Station. The overall ratio of cheese to sauce to dough was good. However, the sauce didn't have too much flavor and the pepperonis were nothing to write home about. It's not bad if you're hungry in a pinch. read more

Good pizza, better than most pizza in NYC. Quick, friendly service. Clean & plenty of table seating for this busy area. Fast food ambiance.

I've been coming here for so many years. This place is a true Penn Station icon. Always packed by the entrance because of the beer. I stop here to have a cold drafted beer before I get on the subway, and an occasional slice. They actually have 32 ounce cups, what I call the big boys. (They have smaller cups/portions as well). It's not a bar or beer house by any means. It's a pizza joint. As for the pizza, the sauce is a little sugary, but not bad, and their prices aren't bad either. Beer 5/5. Pizza 3/5. read more

Rose Pizza is an old school type of pizza place in the renovated Penn Station. Is it the absolute best pizza in NYC no. However, it is solid and consistent and you have a wide variety of choices. It's clean brightly lit and if you find yourself in Penn Station late at night you can't go wrong stopping here for a bite to eat. (or quick bite to eat anytime of the day) I went with a sausage Pepperoni slice and it hit the spot. read more

Not good pizza. Service was fast but rude. Slice and soda was over 8 bucks. I understand that it's Penn station but just saying...much better options available in manhattan. read more

Rose Pizza is a great go to, and never disappoints. You will be delighted with the variety that is displayed before you. Also, you can be assured that it will always taste freshly made. Turnover is quick, so pizza pies are being put out fast. The hardest decision will be what kinda slice to have! Service here is efficient and they will heat up whichever slice you choose. There's ample seating too, if you're looking to have your slice right out of the oven. Or, if you're in a hurry you can always enjoy it on the go! read more

Good pizza at a good price. Got off the train at Penn Station and this is the first pizza place I saw. I assumed it would be way overpriced and not that good because of how awesome the location is but boy was I wrong. Better price than some pizza places with way worse locations. I'm definitely on the spot flavors. read more

If you are in the underground of the renovated Penn Station and want a consistently good slice of cheese pizza, this is a good stop! They basically only sell pizza and beer and they have two separate lines to purchase either. They have a decent amount of seats! Great music! They also show the LIRR train and track times! And they also they have a clean bathroom. read more

Ehhh, pizza is decent , place is filthy , it runs like a machine but yet half the pies look old. The real deals here are the giant beers. One slice of regular and a small soda runs you over $10.00 . So you get what you get inside of Penn Station . Good if you are in a jam . read more

First time customer!!! Quick day trip to NY and before heading back home I had to get my first slice of NY pizza. Not bad really but can't with the sweet sauce. The crushed red pepper on top helped to downplay the sweetness but be careful it's very spicy. Long lines but moved fast. $5 for cheese slice. It's acceptable when rushed to catch a train. read more

Hot temped with a crispy crust very delicious, the buffalo was me and my partners favorite. Rose Pizza is back at Penn, baby, and bustling! Located on the lower level (Long Island Railroad) concourse of Penn Station, the newly renovated Rose can be found in the same space as it was before (middle of the concourse), but is more spacious with ample seating along one side and in the back. It's busy but with a long row of pies and swift workers behind the counter, the line moves fast and they'll have you in & out in no time, especially during rush hour. The hot and crispy pizza will satisfy your craving for a NYC slice. At $4.99 for most slices with toppings, the price is competitive for the station. They also offer a respectable and sizeable selection of beers - both on tap and in cans. Open late til 3:45am daily so late-night revelers rejoice. read more

Rose is what it's always been (excepting the years closed while Penn Station was renovated around it)...a solid NY slice joint. The slices are big, and the price is low. Now, you aren't getting a $0.99 slice here, but those places have always been garbage. This place has always been better than that. For around $4 you get a plain slice that is better than it has any right to be, considering the commuters and drunken amateurs heading back to Long Islanders that make up a large part of the customers base here. The plain slice is the MVP at Rose, but there are a ton of toppings too. Get whatever you want and you'll still pay less than at Suprema, for food that is virtually the same. Plus you don't have to run the gauntlet that is 31st & 8th with a slice in your hand. That's an extra star right there. read more

Yeah this is my favorite pizza. SO WHAT!?!? I am so glad you're back where you belong Rose's Pizza, the exit/entrance of the LIRR missed you oh so much. I love this spot, I will never not. Came here for a very late dinner at 1245 AM after taking the train from DC. Was expecting something very middle of the road, but came out highly satisfied from both a food and service standpoint. Ordered a slice of pepperoni and was served quickly, with a fresh tasting slice reheated at the right temperature. It was thin like NY pizza should be but was soft with good texture rather than being hard / papery. Clean seating area and good beer selection to for those who want to hang around. read more

On the way to the airport I was hungry and decided a slice would be the perfect ending of my trip. Ordered a white slice which had broccoli and ricotta, looked delish! When I got it I was very disappointed. It was dry and had no flavor. I added cheese and though it added flavor, it made it even more dry. What a disappointment. Many people enter or leave through Penn station... this should not be the representation of NY pizza. read more

I'm a native New Yorker of 55 years and I have found that Rose's has the best traditional plain slice in NYC. But today I had a sausage and peppers roll and it was great! Best of all, I left my wallet behind and they returned- with everything in it! Such decent and good people! read more

Garbage overpriced crap for tourists and drunks. Years ago, this was the spot to stop after an evening out. Stopped in for the first time in a few years to grab a couple slices with the family, for nostalgia.. it's God awful.. and like 7 dollars a slice.. 4 dollars for a soda. That's hilariously insulting for such low quality, generic crap. They should have done away with this trash when they overhauled penn. read more

The pizza isn't too bad, and the slices are pretty big. There's definitely a good selection of styles and toppings ready at all times. The beer is cold The pizza when they leave it in long enough is worth it but more often than not it's never hot. If you tell them you want it very hot they'll leave it in the oven longer if not be prepared for lukewarm warm at best. It's NY so don't complain about the prices read more

First of all, before the renovation and re-opening, I would have rate the pizza here probably an A-. It was incredibly good back then (pre-2012 and possibly pre 2019) I had not really been here since 2012 or so. The pizza back in the day was always hot, always fresh out of the oven. Tonight when i went before the rangers game, the slices were small, old (like they had been laying around for 6 hours straight) and almost inedible. The staff here have never been friendly but at least the pizza was good back then. For $5 a slice, it better be good, and it is just horrendous. I went to the mexican restaurant before this in Penn Station and both the mexican place and this pizza place were on the verge of giving me food poisoning. It is a tourist trap and Knicks and Rangers fans will come here to get drunk, just DO NOT TRUST THE FOOD. Old, cheap ingredients. Incredibly rude staff who are confused who ordered what, rushed beyond belief. And blasting music in the background. Pre-2012 when MSG and Penn Station had renovations, this place had SOUL. You had homeless people wandering in, old cheap chairs and tables, but it had a buzz. The pizza was great and the beer was $2.75 for 32 ounces of Budweiser in 2004 instead of $12.50 for 32 ounces now. Never again!!!! read more

Rarely am I "forced" to write a review, however here I am compelled. While waiting for a train, figured let me grab a slice at Rose's Pizza in Penn Station. Holy crap have they declined. No more are the days of the 6th portion slice. Now cut into more cost effective (for them) 8th's. Now I have never tasted dog food but I'm sure this would be a close 2nd. Skimpy cheese cover where you can actually see through it to the pasty Ragu sauce. As a matter of fact I feel bad that I just made a jab at Ragu, they are by far superior. For $5.00 a slice people are getting robbed. Now let's talk the atmosphere. No kidding the music was blasting so loud, wish I could play a sound bite but was afraid it would damage my phone's recorder. First up was Black Eyed Peas I've got a Feelin, then followed by Sweet Caroline (complete with the whole Ba Ba Ba!) .. I was so dizzy I had to get out of there. It's a shame and a disgrace that people new to New York and Penn Station that this is their welcome into the Big Apple. Rose's puts a big black eye (not Peas) on what NY pizza actually is known for. read more

Rose Pizza - Chaos! - Pizza Near Me - New York, New York

I'm usually suspect of pizza spots in highly commercialized places that are going to make their money regardless of the quality of product such as Penn Station but I just got back to NY after a long night and following flight. I was pretty hungry and the reviews on this spot were pretty good online. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried Rose's pizza which was better than I expected. I got there just in time for a fresh cheese slice and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sauce was tasty and well seasoned and the ratio of cheese was perfect too. Only reason I give them 4 instead of 5 stars is due to the crust. Crust wasn't bad but I've had better and that would have made this slice perfect. Otherwise I'd still recommend this to anyone in the area looking for a good pizza to appreciate. I'd definitely stop there again for a slice on another trip through Penn Station. read more
