I used to go to Rose Nails often a few years ago, and they must have changed ownership in between that time because this was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I had to walk out. I was a walk-in (not normally my style, but a previous appointment at a different salon fell through at the last minute. It was over 2 hours until they closed, so I didn't feel bad since there was a sign that said quite clearly "walk-ins" welcome). As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with the most condescending look from one of the ladies working. There were only two workers there, and one was providing a pedicure to a customer. After rudely asking if I needed something, I explained that I didn't have an appointment but was wanting a fresh acrylic set. The woman gives me a "look" and then tells me to bring the basket of colors over to where she is stationed. I do, and she inspects my nails. I have nothing on my nails and my natural nails are fairly short, but that has never been an issue in the past with a fresh set. She looks at them with disgust and begins questioning my decision, going on and on about how short my nails are. She calls to her coworker and starts laughing about how "there's nothing there!" (meaning my nails). I begin to feel really embarrassed so I go, "Gel is fine. Plain gel." She then backtracks, trying to get me to get acrylics and a pedicure, but I decline. As she is doing some maintenance work on my apparently non-existent nails (which is a talent in and of itself, I guess. She is incapable of treating all customers with equal respect, but she can conjure up profitable work for herself where there is no physical medium! A magician, to be sure!), I am actively fighting back tears. I felt very embarrassed and anxious. I had picked out a color, and when she went to get it, she yelled across the salon that they didn't have it. I suggested a new one and she brought it back, but it was a completely different color. At this point, I had had enough with the lack of professionalism, basic human decency, and organization that this salon had. (The entire time she was doing maintenance work on the apparently invisible and humorously tiny keratin patches on my fingers, she was calling people on the phone, not acknowledging me once. Pro tip: if you're going to make fun of and condescend the customer sitting right in front of you out loud in Spanish, perhaps ensure they are not fluent first!) I said I wanted to leave, but that I would pay for whatever she charges for what she had done (which was very basic filing). She was taken aback but took me to the register and no doubt overcharged me for what little work she had completed, but that was a battle I was not willing to fight. All of this to say: I do not expect princess treatment when I enter a salon. But I do expect basic respect and dignity from the people I am planning on paying and tipping generously for their hard work. I have never experienced such obvious disrespect and condescension in my life, and Rose Nails has clearly downgraded over the last few years. If you want to be treated like the side character on a sitcom that nobody likes and everyone makes fun of to their face, but thinks they're too stupid to notice it and then acts shocked when they stand up for themselves, this is the spot for you! In the rare occasion that customer service that is worse than what you experienced from your middle school bully DOESN'T appeal to you, Pacific Nails on Tryon is a good choice. The worker (I don't know her name, but she knows who she is) should be ashamed of her lack of professionalism and self-awareness. You should probably update the signage on your windows and specify that acrylics are only available to people with long natural nails that could cut through all 3 layers of skin in a single swipe, since that must be your standard. I have had consistently great manicures and pedicures at this salon, so I had to update my review! I had an awesome gel manicure with Helen today. I made an appointment for 12:30PM, but arrived at 12:10PM, and Helen saw me right away. This salon is always super busy, so I thought I would have to wait. I try to make my nail appointments around my lunch hour, and I was happy to see that Helen was all business, there was no awkward chatter and she was fast. Rose Nails reminds me of the salons in the Detroit area. Always busy, sanitary (they have an A rating), lots of nail technicians doing both pedicures and manicures, and they know your time is valuable so they're quick. But, even though they are quick, they don't cut corners. My hangnails are removed, along with my overgrown cuticles, nails are cut, filed and buffed perfectly; they always apply a base coat, 2 coats of color, and 1-2 more coats of the topcoat. The price for my gel manicure was $25.00! You can't beat that! I've been to quite a few nail salons in the Raleigh area, and Rose Nails is definitely my favorite. read more

This is the best pedicure I have received in the area, and probably ever! I got the Spa Pedicure Delight. The items included in the package were a perfect combination; and the prices are reasonable Tina was excellent! Very thorough in every step. The staff was friendly and nice. The atmosphere was relaxing. They had low, relaxing ambiance music and even had a fake fireplace on the tv. :) That mixed with the leg scrub, leg & chair massage, and hot towels made for a very relaxing visit. I definitely was unsatisfied with my visit to Rose nails. 1. We made an appointment for pedicures and manicures as a large group. We made it a week in advance and checked the day before to confirm that time would be reserved for our group. Despite that fact some of us had to wait 45minutes-1hr to be seen. When we walked in they were not at all ready for us. No one was available to start on our group and they clearly did not even take the reservation seriously. 2. During our wait time not once did anyone say..."sorry for your wait" and no body spoke to us until after 45 minutes had passed in which the owner finally said to the last one of us waiting " someone will be with you". 3. On day 2 my nails were already chipping. It seemed as if they didn't even paint all the way to the tip of the nail. The nail polish just flakes off. Manicure did not last! 4. The lady who did my nails forgot to put on the last solution. I had to ask another woman I saw doing it to her customer. She applied it to my nails too thankfully because my lady was supposedly finished. 5. Pedicure seems to be lasting. 6. Their site pricing vs. store pricing differs for some services. Just double check to make sure you're being charged correctly and what you expected to pay. 7. They do waxing so you could get multiple things done here. 8. If you get a pedicure there are massage chairs and they were pretty great! 9. Pricing seemed standard! For a basic pedicure and manicure it was $35. You really can't beat their mani/pedi special. As I have said in previous reviews, I miss the days of my $21 mani pedi in New York City. To be able to get both down here for $37 I felt was a steal. They really take their time, and they don't pressure add-ons to jack up the price. Even during their busiest time, they were able to seat me quickly but then really took their time with making sure I was happy. I overheard a few conversations with some repeat customers, and the staff was really attentive to their needs. I'll definitely be back. read more

I needed to get my nails done for my wedding and didn't want to drive too far away. Rose Nails is located on off of the intersection of Walnut and Dillard near Crossroads. Since I was planning to go for a gel manicure and pedicure, I figured I'd call as it takes forever to complete. When I called, the owner basically told me that if I wasn't picky on who my nail tech would be, I could come in whenever. I came on Saturday at noon and it was BUSY! But, I was still seated with a nail tech in less than 5 minutes. As soon as you're seated, you're offered a bottle of water. Rose Nails is more of your typical nail shop that looks like a well oiled machine. They had at least 15 nail techs working on customers when I was there! If you're going for a more relaxing atmosphere, this may not be for you as there's a lot of conversation going on and you hear everything (nail drilling, foot scrubbing, etc). All of that didn't bother me too much as I was really just there to get my nails done, not relax. It's $30 for a gel mani, $30 for a gel pedi, and $5 extra for each nail you'd like to have art on (I opted for a flower on my ring fingers). So my total was $70. I honestly cannot remember the name of my nail tech (sorry!) but she was awesome. It took me about 2.5 hours to get everything done, but she was super meticulous and patient! To work on my toe nails, she had to work on the floor, I felt so bad for her, but she did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience. The only thing that threw me off was when I walked in and told the owner I wanted "gel french nails" he confused me by telling me there were 2 types and couldn't adequately explain which was which. I finally figured out that he meant one was done on your natural nails and one is with acrylic nails. I thought if you wanted acrylic nails, you'd go in saying that, THEN mention you wanted gel polish on them...but okay. After that, it was smooth sailing. read more

I've been really tempted to get gel polish again but I really didn't have the time on Wednesday because I had an appointment at 7 that I had to make. They do have longer hours than most salons I've seen in the area; they're open to 8 on week days were most places close at 7. They offer various different levels of pampering ranging from $13 for a basic manicure, to $25 for a premium spa manicure. I decided to try this place due to the positive feedback and its close to home. I called in for an appointment and asked to go around 530 or 545 that evening but the man that answered simply said 530 ok..545 no bc we dont want to stay late so i said ok 530. After a few mins, I called back and said i can make it there earlier around 1230 to accommodate them. Went in for a pedicure and gel polish change and wasn't impressed. I showed the nail technician a style I wanted and asked if she could do it.. her response.."NO!" No need to shout and it was nothing fancy i asked for, just an almond shape and certain designs. I shrugged it off and decided to just go basic. I told her I wanted coffin shape to keep it simple and I wanted glitter on certain fingers and boy does it look horrible! I even showed her a picture of the style multiple times! For my toenails, I like the shape to be square and it didn't turn out square at all..more round. Instead of letting my gel polish soak while I was getting my pedicure, she decided to wait. Whole appointment took longer than what I'm used to. Not recommended and will not be returning. read more

Tried our Rose Nails today on my lunch break. I called earlier this morning and made a 12:15pm appt for 2 manicures - one gel, one dip - for me and a co worker. We showed up on time and were sat down. My co workers dip manicure got started in about 5 mins. Me - not so much. I waited about 20 mins and finally asked who was doing my nails - someone came over and did the foil wrap to remove my current polish. 15 mins later, someone else came over and took the polish over. And 15 minutes later, someone finally did my nails. My nails look good - so that's cool and all - but I was super late getting back to work. So you know, go here if you have all the time in the world and want to go somewhere they dont respect your time. Theres no reason a regular gel manicure should take an hour and a half - none! read more

I used to go here regularly and really enjoyed my pedicures from Gloria. Once she left, it just hasn't been the same for me. It has been several months since I was last in for a pedicure and I was very surprised at how dirty and run down the place looked. If I didn't have a gift certificate, I would have turned around and left. I was the only patron there for at least 30 minutes, in the middle of the day in July. My technician did an ok job but I got cheated out of 4 minutes of the leg massage. In past years I loved rose. My visit today left me very disappointed. I had a man, his name was unknown because he never told me, but had scars all over his arm as a distinct characteristic. He was very rude and too technical for me to truly relax. When I asked if I could get a manicure with my full set, there was a reason I couldn't. When I wanted to test different colors, there was a reason I couldn't. I showed him a picture of length and shape, but was extremely impatient and rude when I was trying to then explain what I wanted. He put so much nail polish on that even after waiting 20 minutes for them to dry, and being careful with them, they are all now ruined and still soft 6 hours later. If I hadn't been visiting I would go back to have them repainted completely. read more

I've been to Rose's quite a few times over the years. I normally don't keep up with my nails but for special occasions like weddings, birthdays, mental health days etc. I come here and spend a couple hours relaxing and making my hands and feet pretty. What makes this place stand out from the millions of other nail salons surrounding them? The service is top notch. I believe he is the owner, David is his name. Whoever he may be he is always there to greet you and make sure you are treated like a queen. There are a significant amount of pedicure chairs in fact I think they added some since my last visit. I rarely ever have to wait when I walk in big plus. A group of girls stopped in on my most recent visit for a little birthday celebration. They were able to accommodate our group immediately and made the birthday girl feel extra special. We didn't bring any wine this day but normally any time we have a celebration here we bring the wine and they supply the glasses. They really enjoy spoiling their customers which will keep me coming back time and time again. The massage chairs are really nice for your pedicure and in case you are someone like me who never can seem to get those chairs to work properly they will happily assist you. The technicians I've had here have all been fabulous, they take their time with your pedicure and manicure you never feel rushed like some of the other salons I've been too. You receive a nice leg and hand massage during your services as well. Jenny was my technician this time and when I go back I will definitely ask for her again. I also splurged a little more while I was there and had my eyebrows waxed. I'm a little hesitant about getting my eyebrows waxed at a nail salon but she did a great job. This was not good. You really really have to irk me to be rated this low. I have been so irked in fact, that I am going to use numbers to explain why I am not happy. 1. It was Valentines Day. One of the busiest days for a nail salon in a year. They told us that 4 people were out on vacation. Why would you try to justify why you are making people wait? With a packed salon the owner allowed 2 workers to leave. This made the wait time forever. But like a dummy I bit my tongue and stayed. I digress. 2. We requested that we sit togther to have nails done togther, so that we could talk. They did sit us togther but that did not matter. My mom had hers done first and was done for 30 minutes before anyone came to my nails. We wanted to be done at the same time. From the time we sat down until we left was over 2 hours. That is not normal, just in case you are wondering, for a manicure. 3. While I was waiting I got grossed out. Be aware what I am about to say is really nasty. I glanced over behind my mom to get her purse and another nail technician was BAREFOOT. She had both of her shoes off and I saw her cracked feet and blackfoot. If you dont know what blackfoot is, it is when your feet are so dirty that the bottom of your feet are blackened. I am sure that is some type of health code violation. 4. They did NOT autoclave or sterilze their tools. All they did was to keep them in a little tray and they went person to person. Again like a dummy I bit my tongue and suffered. Mom noticed that first not me. Had I noticed I would have walked out. My mom was only able to tell me after she started doing my nails. Not having sterlized tools is illegal in nail salons and makes getting infections very easy. 5. My nail technician only said like 5 things to me and ignored me the rest of the time. That is very rude other places I have been to, you can see them in other reviews that I have written, the staff was friendly and talked to me. So believe it or not there is more. 6. For Cary I found this very sketchy. They had an atm inside the front door. It was all adding up in my head. 7. The chairs you sat in were uncomfortable. Like extremely uncomfortable. The only reason this nail salon is getting a 1 star is because I can go no lower. Would bot take my worst enemy here, do not come here. If you do I hope you do not get an infection. read more

Based on service quality, Rose Nails is one of the better salons in the area. In fact, Rose Nails is my go-to salon! The salon is almost always busy so I wouldn't recommend it to someone who seasonly goes for a mani/pedi for relaxation. I DO recommend this salon to anyone that gets their nails done regularly and wants a good job done. My nail routine consists of a liquid gel fill in with gel (or shellac) polish on top and a pedicure, every 2-3 weeks. I consider myself trendy and I like to wear my nails consistent with trend. The young nail technicians lack no experience and they stay on top of the latest in nail technique, color and design. Jimmy does the best natural looking nails. Gloria is a sweetheart with a passion for nail art. Helen gives one hellova pedicure. I am confident in the skills and abilities of every technician in this salon and let me tell you... Tina was my nail artist and she was amazing! By far, the best gel manicure I've had in the triangle yet! She paid such amazing attention to detail, and made sure to get my cuticles perfectly pushed back and trimmed before polishing! While polishing, she was extremely careful not to let any of the polish overlap onto my skin, which has been a problem at many other nails salons I've gone to. When they overlap, it causes lifting, and doesn't allow for the lasting power of gel to really prove itself. She was meticulous, and even though this took extra time, it was well worth it! I live in Durham, and don't find myself in Cary for anything, but I happened to be there and took a chance on this place, now I'm going to have to keep going back! I think a 30 minute drive is worth it for this amazing manicure. I highly recommend Tina. She was sweet and polite and did an amazing job!!!! I also get acrylic nails on my thumbs, and even though she doesn't do acrylics, they had another woman do them, and she did a great job. The nail polish on my toenails didn't match my nails even though it was the same polish being used. The lady only put on one coat of color. It was a waste of money. So I'm only giving this place a star because Jimmy did a great job on my nails. Perfect shape. That is the only positive thing I have to say about my experience. Here's the cons: -salon was suppose to open at 12...all the employees arrived almost 10 minutes after 12 -nobody said hello, not social to paying customers -watched a lady walk in with the staff and she waited over 30 minutes for them to even acknowledge her and tell her it would be an hr wait! She already wasted half an hr! -my daughters nails were a rush poor pain job(they Poked terrible) My daughter noticed them right away, before she paid, and when she showed the technician she asked my daughter what did she do to them? They were gel and my daughter did nothing. The tech did a poor job! -menu says Acrylic fill is $20 gel fill is $25. I say ok, lol do a gel fill. Jimmy pulls out another unlabeled container with "powder" and tried to tell me it's gel powder. I am a licensed cosmetologist who also did nails for awhile and I know gel is never in powder form. He was being dishonest! Ripping people off my charging them an extra $5 for basically acrylic powder. Very deceitful!
