I arrived as the owner was wrapping up with a client in one of those massage chair things you see in the airport where the people kneel lol. I was led to a back room with a table and tranquil music and told to change. I like a firm massage and let me tell you this tiny little lady delivered. She got my knots out went deep did fully body including my feet which were last (saved the best for last) and adjusted pressure as requested. Since there wasn't another masseuse we did get interrupted by walk in's a few times and lost a few minutes but overall it was a great massage. I've paid double for worse and have walked away feeling like I needed another half hour or more. Whereas here I felt fully relaxed and so much better within that limited time frame. The music was tranquil and not too loud. The masseuse could not tell me exactly what was in my massage oil so if you have allergies steer clear. I really felt I got the best bang for the buck and left feeling like a million bucks.

However, all the massage places in the area have the same increase. There is free parking with two designated spots since it is a busy strip. They do well with limited English. Things they could do to make it five stars: my roommate and I noticed, they do not consistently have the same amount of time. I set my watch now. They could put a sign on the door when full so the workers don't have to leave to answer the door and phone. I'd love if they could get the hot towels ready in the room--they are all big enough--so no one is freezing while waiting for the massage personnel to return. And don't ask for more of a tip; it's just tacky.

Not realizing how knotted up my body was when I came in, Renata was able to massage me, relax me, then educate me regarding my body & the stress I was carrying. I came in for a relaxing massage, but instead I got a massage & very helpful information regarding my body!!!! Talk about a bonanza!!! Additionally, Renata further aided in my relaxation process by providing the level of modesty (regarding my body) that made me comfortable. Not many times does a therapist that takes the time to inquire about your comfort level; whether your 1st or 100th time, this can be an issue. My hot stone massage wasn't long enough, as I didn't want her to stop. From the top to the bottom, there wasn't area that was untouched by her. She made sure all my muscles received a fair amount of stimulation and "unkinking"; as I was truly full of knots. I found the pricing to be fair & in-line with the cost of similar services at other locations. I am super ecstatic about Hands Of Essence & this will now be my go-to-massage salon.

Finding the location was a little tricky, since our GPS got us stuck in the library's parking lot. Don't go that way if your GPS tells you! Just look for the Napoleon Room, and the sigh for Hands of Essence is in the corner downstairs. Renata and Terrell answered all our questions that we did and didn't know to ask. They made us feel like comfortable and focused on the areas we pointed out to even. We can't wait to go back!

You found her! For anyone wondering, YES this is the famous…read moremasseuse Linda who used to work down the street ON Magazine. She has now opened an incredible place of her own. I cannot say enough good things about Linda. She has been my masseuse for over 6 years. Now I go to both Linda and Lee (both work here) and both provide amazing massages. You can't go wrong with either. For starters, I should mention that I like intense massage work. I know you can request different pressure levels, but for those who like deep tissue this is your spot. This is a place for a REAL massage. Body work. Do not be fooled by her small stature, she is STRONG. This place is for incredible muscle healing, toxin release, and personally, I like to need an ibuprofen after a massage. Linda has an incredible connection with the human body and she has the ability to feel exactly the areas that need extra work. I can't tell you how many times I have not mentioned something and she picks up on it immediately and heals the area. The space is renovated, clean, full of beautiful light, and an actual relaxing environment. Unlike the place down the street, this place has actual peace inside. NO conversations, NO phone ringing, NO open ceilings and hearing the next room getting their massage (yes, this is a thing) LINDA's massage is beautiful. I love their late hours, because I can go after work. Yes I really have texted at 7:55 to see if they are open and been there at 8:00 pm! I have never just walked in, because I want to make sure they have an opening, but perhaps some do have luck with walk ins. My favorite combination is 30 minute foot massage with an hour body massage, but anything you treat yourself to will be wonderful. Don't be afraid to communicate with them while on the table and let them know what you would like YOUR massage to feel like. It's not offensive to do that, they want you to enjoy your experience. *Linda has a small language barrier when communicating long sentences, but do NOT let that stop you. She easily uses Google translate on her phone and communicates smoothly that way when needed. Her husband helps with communication as well when he is there. * I noticed she has a lot of Google reviews, if you'd like more perspectives.

I confirmed with the guy that that's what I wanted. He led me to a massage chair where a male masseuse was waiting. He began working on my neck and shoulders (my foot massage place at home always begins with the next and shoulders then move down the arms and then to the feet) so I thought this was part of the massage. Mid-way through a girl sat down and began working on my feet while the guy continued on my shoulders. I wondered why they had two people working on me but thought maybe they just wanted to get people through faster. But at checkout, the lady at the counter charged me $96!! I said no the sign said $60 for a one hour foot massage. She told me that I received a neck and shoulder massage for an additional $36. I said that is NOT what I asked for and I thought that was part of the foot massage. She kept insisting it was $96 for my service. After a huge argument with her, I paid her what I asked for - $60 for a one hour foot massage - and left. So beware! They will get you in for one service but try to sneak in something you didn't ask for and then charge you for it! It's a total racket!!
