We're visiting from California and had walked almost 12 miles the day before, so we were really looking forward to some relaxation. We booked online and received a courtesy reminder call before our appointment, which was a nice touch. My husband said it was the best massage he's ever had. Mine was wonderful too, so relaxing I could have fallen asleep! We both left feeling great and would definitely recommend this place.

Oh Wow! I knew I had plans in Old Gretna yesterday so I looked to see if I could book a massage…read morebefore or after my lunch plans and if there was online booking. I stumbled across the Peppermint Room and saw the glowing Yelp reviews and immediately booked time with Luz. I booked a massage with face cleansing ritual. First the massage part... the room was large but also cozy. The electric fireplace was a really nice touch. Luz found all the knots... all of them. And worked through them with a firm but gentle touch. I knew my back was a mess but not how much of a mess until she started working on me. The cleansing ritual was not a typical facial... it was more like a face massage with a cleansing. I highly recommend this. I wasn't sure what to expect but I really enjoyed it. Again Luz was great! The location is a non-descript building which faces Lafayette St but the front door is actually on 18th St and their are reserved parking spots out front...love the painted parking spot detail. Loved the ability to book online and I was just charged a deposit on my total bill.

The Peppermint Room has very relaxing and inviting vibes, it also smelled amazing, the waiting room was really comfortable. The massage room was so calming and the table was so nice. The extra room for a pregnant belly and chest was awesome and it was also heated. The price was so reasonable especially considering the quality of service. They also offer so many types of services that I can't wait to try. Upon checking out, I booked an appointment for my husband and I feel like we'll probably end up getting a membership because I will definitely be back. Couldn't be happier with my first prenatal massage! Thank you again Miss Dee!

The massage studio was clean and quiet and private. The only thing is the room that shared the wall to the exterior of the building you can hear the noise of the people walking past. But I was so into my zone of trying to relax and enjoy the loosening of my tight and sometimes painful muscles the noise didn't disturb me. They massaged my scalp and ears too which was so nice. By the end of my massage the therapist detected that I had tightness in my feet. Which I really did from all of the walking about downtown New Orleans through the crowds and parades. So for $30 extra bucks I stayed and got a 20-30 minute (I can't remember how long it was) feet massage. It was so nice and I could tell the difference after the massages. We all felt much better as far as relaxed legs and back muscles. I was afraid I would be hurt during the massage of my lumbar area as it hurts a lot sometimes and the massage studio/salon didn't take any intake information about any health issues. However they did great and I wasn't hurt at all. I recommend this location when in New Orleans.

I arranged for two massage therapists from Balance Massage to provide chair massages at a health fair. For starters, Balance Massage has a very professional website with helpful information, including a list of local clients that includes Whole Foods, Tulane University, and Harrah's Casino. All Balance Massage therapists are nationally certified. Joe (I think he is the owner) was very helpful and friendly during the reservation process and answered all of my questions. The day of the event, the massage therapists showed up on time with their equipment in tow. All I needed to do was give them a little bit of space to set up in. The massage therapists were friendly, sanitized their hands and chairs between clients, and provided skilled, relaxing massages. It was a lot harder than you might think to find professional, organized, and affordable massage therapists to provide chair massages at an event. I endured many bizarre phone calls before I found Balance Massage. I definitely called a lot of 'happy ending' type places from my cubicle, much to my coworkers' entertainment.

They cracked everything, both my husband and I were talking about how they did so good on our entire body. I have sciatica issues and the pressure applied with his elbows in the center of my glute and down the center of my thighs hurts like hell but I literally have no pain anymore. I don't know how to describe the pressure, it was hard and intense but not too deep which I've had too deep in the past where I could barely walk and had bruises this was more firm pressure with effleurage and they used hot stones without me even asking. I'll definitely go back. Oh and 60 mins was $76

A few minutes in, a guy came over and just started massaging my shoulder and said nothing. I was confused because I didn't know if they do this for everyone's foot massage or what but I fully believe you should ask the client before starting a paid service. A few minutes later, another guy came over and also started massaging my friends shoulder. My friend said she didn't want anything because it would cost extra, right? The guy massaging my shoulder then said, you want 30 minutes shoulder, face and arms? I was like uhhh how much does that cost? It was double what I had agreed to for my feet so I said no I'm ok. He then said, how about 10 minutes? Mind you, he had already massaged my shoulder (which again, I never requested) for 5 minutes so I felt bad and said ok fine 10 minutes, no face. My friend still opted out and the guy sighed. I heavily disagree with this practice because I find it very sneaky and that they hope clients feel bad and say yes. Any paid service should always be disclosed and ASKED to the client before beginning. My total for both services came out to $46 cash and I gave a $10 tip which is more than a 20% tip despite me not loving how the service/situation went down. My masseuse proceeded to ask me for tip for the guy who did my 10 min shoulder massage. Like what? I asked him to split it with him and he said ok but I was very turned off that he even requested this. They gave me a total of the services and I tipped off the total. Did he think I was tipping just him 30%?
