The Rose Garden was a great find while visiting the local area. I really enjoy flowers and any outdoor spaces when Im traveling to other places. Easily assessable to all, especially people that have disabilities. Great place to relax and have some down town from the hustle of the city. This garden was free, you can donate if you wish. Great parking and easy to find in El Paso. I did pick up a flyer on site of the history of the gardens. There are a variety of roses and a few others flowers for you to enjoy. The volunteers of the gardens have done a excellent job keeping this hidden gem in top notch condition. I highly recommend that you stop by and donate if possible. Dani~

Just an awesome little rose garden. Many tiers of wonderful and well kept roses. I saw a plaque from Better Homes and Gardens from 1937 so this has been winning hearts for decades. I only wish my mom was with me because she absolutely loved roses. Come for a beautiful moment and remember all those you've loved or love.

Who can really say anything bad about roses? I know I can't! I've always loved their beauty and scent. Even though they're a little bit hard to grow and maintain at home, they've always been one of my favorite flowers. I wish they didn't have thorns but it is what it is. Anyway...I always enjoy coming to the rose garden. It's always a peaceful and calm place to visit. Not sure why I hadn't written a review! I hadn't been in quite some time so it was nice to visit recently. I believe they shut down in 2020 due to the pandemic. It was windy the day I went but that didn't stop me from smelling the roses (yeah, pun intended!) and looking at them. It was fun to take some photos. I would say April is the perfect month to come and check out the rose garden. It's typically spring here in El Paso. You'll see a lot of roses in full bloom. Also, it isn't too cold or hot in April. Once it starts hitting the 100's, I'd recommend coming earlier in the morning...before 11 am if possible. They close at 6pm. The rose garden is available for weddings. People also come to take photos for their wedding or quinceanera (15th birthday). I'd definitely recommend taking photos here for a special occasion and/or just because. :) It's hard not to! If taking photos isn't your thing, I'd still recommend stopping by just to look around. I'll be coming back soon to take more photos.

A rose blooms in the desert...figuratively as well as literally. El Paso has a free Rose garden in the middle of the city. Apparently not many people know or visits which is a shame. They're missing out on over 1500 roses with 432 different varieties! It's literally over 4 acres of roses. They have benches, covered and shaded sitting areas, even a small waterfall. Volunteers maintain the garden and I met some master gardeners today. Hopefully their green thumbs rubs off on me. ‍ My inner photographer came out and I went a little crazy but you can't get a bad angle here! It's gorgeous, and SMELLS divine. They were just starting to bloom and you can see the buds ready to open in the next few weeks. They also told me the summers are gorgeous too with the Bradford pear trees in full bloom and sunflowers. The rose society rely on donations and the parks and rec service rents it out for weddings and group functions. It's entirely free to visit and we picnicked there for lunch. We brought some fig and goat brie sandwiches and some candy from Chamoylicious_ep . My mother in law's roses were decimated this past winter and she was so happy to see her favorite roses in bloom. It was also good for physical therapy since the walkaways are gently sloped and ramped with handrails in addition to the stairs. ‍ Please don't pick the flowers and just enjoy them, they work so hard on maintaining and making sure we all can stop and smell the roses. Stepping into this charming little garden is a sight to behold and despite having the roses not even in bloom is saying a lot. I can image how beautiful and amazing this place is in Spring time. I need to mark the calendars and return. Other the the construction happening across the rose garden, it was as I said cute and charming. Must see

This is a volunteer run rose garden on a terraced hill. We visited in July and enjoyed our short stop there. You can easily walk around the whole thing in 15 minutes or stay much longer.

This rose garden is a rare gem to enjoy in the desert of El Paso! The roses are so beautiful when you go in April/May! We just visited this past weekend to enjoy some Spring flower colors! The variety of colors with the green is an oasis to enjoy here especially before the summer heat! Enjoy while it lasts this Spring!

A very nice rose garden. I have been to handful of large rose gardens on the east & west coasts and also in Europe mainly in Germany, and this one is not by any means a large one. It must be very labor intensive to maintain this garden so nicely due to the very arid nature of weather here. I discovered it in the middle of August this year, so I think I missed the peak season this season. It still has some beautiful roses even in October nonetheless. I was sort of surprised to find this garden by accident. It really was a pleasant surprise. On top of that, I saw a roadrunner in the shady part of the garden (photo). What a treat especially because I wasn't looking for one. Going back to the roses--there are some beautiful ones. I ran into a family who was having a photo shoots. It's a very nice setting for that for whatever occasion it is for. I think I'm going to come back in the spring/ early summer. I think it will be even prettier then. I think the sign said it's closed between November and March. They must trim back the roses for winter and reopen in the spring. I'm looking forward to it.

Small hidden gem in El Paso. Admission is free. However, NO PETS. Best to go towards the end of April when the roses are in full bloom and before the summer heat creeps in.

If anyone rates this less than 5 stars, then they don't deserve to be around natural beauty. My friend tried taking me here about a year ago, but they were closed and I made a mental note to make it back to check it out. Today was the day. After waiting for the winter months to be over with, they finally opened! It was absolutely beautiful. It's not really big, but that's not the point. Free parking, free entry. The fact that people keep this place going for others to enjoy puts a huge smile on my face. I was able to test out my photography skills today. This place got decently busy, but there was enough space to spread out. Two weddings took place here (or maybe it was just the picture portion) either way, a great place to check out the roses, listen to the birds chirp, and enjoy a stress free time!

    Beautiful roses in late April

When I first heard that there was a municipal rose garden in the middle of El Paso, I almost didn't believe it (seems like a stretch in a city with minimal greenery/landscaping). But it's true! It's in the middle of a NE neighborhood, next to a large public park. Being late spring, some of the roses were past their peak, but it was still lush and a beautiful place to stroll through or enjoy a small picnic or coffee. Apparently there's over 1500 rose bushes, kept up by the El Paso Rose Society, and I have to say they do a beautiful job. There are several shaded or covered spot, so you can escape the desert sun for a little while 'smelling the roses'. Stop by soon before they're all gone, or check them out next spring!

Tourists should swing by here for a stroll! Beautiful place to decompress, sit in the shade or walk the aisle and aisles of over 1,500 rose bushes!! Not too much in El Paso but brown sand and dirt.. Except for this gem!! A colorful escape in within a sandy city. This would be a great place to have a garden party or small wedding. No bathrooms but plenty of parking.

It has a lot of lush green grass and trees, especially during the warmer months. Since El Paso is located in the desert, we don't have too much of that. It's kind of far from my house so I don't come to it that often. If I lived closer, I would definitely walk around and relax. There's also a swimming pool and library. I've never been to either one. Before Covid, I brought my son to a festival at Memorial Park. There was a lot of vendors and children's activities. My son enjoyed it. Memorial Park is also close to the rose garden (another favorite of mine!). This is a nice park to have a gathering with friends and family. One of my friends had a memorial for her son here. She brought food and drinks, along with a singer and butterflies to release. She held the memorial one year after her son passed away. It was a beautiful tribute for him. Memorial Park is also a nice place to take photos since it's so green pretty much all year long. People/photographers come here to take wedding, quinceanera and graduation photos. Check out Memorial Park if you haven't already.

I guess I'm partial to it since it's not too far from my residence, and I have been frequenting this park in recent months ever since I relocated to Northeast El Paso. Even comparing to the Chamizal National Memorial Park, I like this one better--it's kind of hard to put into words, but it gives me more soothing and calming feelings as I walk through it. It also gives ample shades during hot summer days since there are many large trees. This park is fairly large and includes Aquatic Center, El Paso Public Library, & El Paso Municipal Rose Garden in the vicinity. Families enjoy using the playground with their children. If you walk around the perimeter of the park and/or through the hills, it provides you with a good walk routes. I see groups of people enjoying yoga or tai chi, others cycling through the park. I often see couples/families getting their wedding/engagement/quinceañera photos done here since it's such a beautiful setting. There are ample picnic benches throughout the park. There aren't too many shelters, but I see folks bringing their own shade tents and chairs. If you need a place to relax and enjoy nature, this is the place to be in El Paso. Highly recommended!!
