I also tried their apple crumble tart and it was out of this world deliciousness! The staff tried very hard to understand my basic French mixed with English... They take cards which helps! The only thing I don't recommend is their pre made panini sandwich. I thought it was egg salad, but it was some type yellow chicken mayo dressed sandwich with unknown yellow flavor. I'd highly recommend a trip to this delightful bakery for baked goods!

The baguette was very crunchy and soft on the inside with a fragrant sourdough smell that not all places have. It definitely makes it more flavorful. The apple turnover was very crunchy as well with fresh apples inside. Almond croissant had a very nice texture with the paste. They really know how to make things crunchy here. Would definitely recommend if in Paris and the earlier you go in the morning the better. The prices are also very reasonable!

Du Pain et des Idees was listed as one of the popular spots to get a croissant, so I made sure we…read morehad it on our itinerary. We came near 9am on a Monday and there was a very short line. It did get longer as we ate our pastries closer to 9:30am. The pastries are all displayed out, with nothing really covering them. There were a TON of bees swarming the bakery and the baked goods, which was a little unsettling. We got one croissant and one escargot praline. The croissant looked very unique, not like your typical croissant cone shape. It was the first of our many croissants so I used this as a baseline. Definitely buttery but a bit too crispy for me. I like some flakiness but also some soft interior for my croissants. The escargot praline was good but tasted a bit old in my opinion. After our trip ended, there were other spots I definitely would rank higher than Du Pain et des Idees, and would rather go to those if I ever visited Paris again.
