Instead, the tailor took the dress, and as I waited nearby (shush, I was a turtleneck, tights and a coat) hemmed it in 10 minutes, during a busy Saturday morning. I never would have expected such service, especially since I hadn't been going there since I moved out eight years ago. Only downside: some of the threads of the cotton fabric pulled a little, perhaps in the rush, which was a little disappointing. The chest was stuffed and it was hung beautifully. So in essence it cost me $50 to dry clean. Yesterday, I picked up a pair of pants that were burnt from a pressing after they were altered. I took them there in February to have them altered. I didn't try them on afterwards. (My bad) and it turned out they were never altered! So I returned last week. Now I spent 18.75x 2 for both visits for the same pants. The pants were $49 at Marshall's. I spent almost as much altering them and now they are burnt and not wearable. I'm done with these dry cleaners. Every time I go, they raise their prices.
