I'm not really a dive bar type person but this place wasn't that bad. They have big windows and art on the walls and their fried green tomato burger was awesome. Their french fries are crispy and the burger came with both ketchup and ranch without me having to ask. It was a decently reasonable price for a burger in this economy. All in all it was a good experience and I wouldn't shy away from coming back. No wait to get a table, decent parking in the area, wait staff were friendly, polite, and timely. The table we were at was clean and not sticky and maybe my standards are too low for dive bars but get's a 5 star in my book.

A mother's day escape. After being a good boy and calling my mum in Germany (since she never callas on mother day I thought I give her a call ). Since Roscoe's do t allow kids inside it's a good place to have a Mother's Day escape - so service was fast as always and food never disappoints. We had the special fish and chips which was delicious just a light breading with a flaky hot fish inside. And I could not say no to the jambalaya with chicken and andouille. Hubby had their version of a caprese which is made with fried green tomatoes on a generous bed of pesto. All in all Roscoe proofed to be worth coming back :)

Oyster sliders and a side of tater tots

Pleasant SE Portland bar with an impressive Cajun-inspired menu and a deep tap list. Funky place and quite welcoming. Went for the oyster sliders with slaw and a side of the Cajun-seasoned tater tots. Didn't disappoint. The oysters were fried just right and the sauce on the sliders was very tasty. Excellent service and quick delivery of our orders to our table. Reasonable prices. A lot here to like.

This is a dive bar with solid food. The menu has a lot of great southern options. The oyster po' boy is great and the portion is big! The spicy mac and cheese is tasty but it is hot so be aware of that if you order it. Their cornbread is sweet and has a nice texture.

Blackened Catfish Po'boy is mighty tasty. The bread was perfectly crisp and squishy at the same time.

I'm still super surprised I've never reviewed Roscoe's before. I've been here a few times and always have an excellent experience. Joe, the bartender today, was super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. It was fairly bustling, but I felt well-cared for throughout my experience. I love that Roscoe's had an excellent tap list and a broad range of seating options from outside to inside to by some games to at the bar. It's super cozy throughout! I was excited to grab both sushi and Cajun food at the same place and was not disappointed. Everything was delicious and really hit the spot! I look forward to coming for many years to come!

Love the NOLA vibe and outdoors seating options. The servers do come by the tables outside so you can also hang out there and be waited on instead of popping in and outside. Have not tried the food yet but the drinks were on brand with NOLA style -frozen daiquiris and margaritas etc! I however have mostly left sugar behind as much as possible so it was my bad getting lured by the passion fruit margarita which was frozen and too sweet for me so I followed w a mezcal soda. Easy to get to on the 15 bus line and lots of other cool spots on the block to make a nice neighborhood outing. Will easily be back!

    Exceptional!

Food and service were great--but the place needs a deep clean, and after looking at my water glass, I wished I had looked sooner.

Small burgers so I recommend you get two burgers and fries. It's a neighbourhood bar so it's frequented by locals and people from the sorrounding neighbourhoods but it's not a very diverse crowd. Caucasian-dominant. I got the punk-vibe from both female bartenders and it seems to be a spot for alot of service workers to hang out. Interesting decor inside. I would not mind coming back but that's only because of the cheap drinks! It opens at 4pm every day and you can find the hours on google.

When Queen of Hearts changed over to Cadigan's Corner, the bikes motored on, but the characters remained. I only went one time, but the experience was intense and memorable, and included a server with a spirit-collecting sword, and a sign that said: "We are not responsible for women left unattended." Among other highlights. So when Old Gilbert took over the spot, I had small hopes, but one leery eye on the door. I've been in a good number of times now, and in comparison to its predecessors, it's fantastic. One generally feels pretty safe, and the flair for the dramatic is low. All in all, it's pretty bare bones. I'm waiting for it to fully develop its personality, but for now its theme to me is: cheap thrills, no frills.

Unfortunately, our experience last night was extremely disappointing. We were dining with a visiting family member and had just received our food and first round of drinks. When our waitress--who mentioned it was her first day--came back, I politely ordered a second drink. About 10-15 minutes later, a bartender (whose name was shared with us as Diego by our waitress) brought the drink to the table. Instead of simply delivering it, he spoke to me in an aggressive and condescending tone, telling me this would be the only time a drink would be brought to the table and that next time I needed to go to the bar because they "don't do table service." The issue wasn't the policy--it was the way it was communicated. It felt disrespectful, unprofessional, and completely lacking in basic customer service. Shortly after, our waitress returned and asked if the bartender had been upset about the order, which added to how uncomfortable the situation felt. As the only table of color in the space at the time, the interaction left us questioning whether this was simply poor training, a bad night, or something more concerning. I can't say for certain--but I can say it did not feel welcoming or respectful. We chose to finish quickly, pay our bill, and leave with our food. This experience does not reflect the kind of hospitality we expect from our neighborhood. I truly hope this was an isolated incident and that management takes steps to address staff communication and customer service.
