I received a phone call from Emily at Roscoe Brown in Murfreesboro informing me of the promotional service they were offering with a $20 discount. I scheduled both my HVAC heating units for service. The service was scheduled and the Service Tech Vinny arrived to do the job. Vinny did a very good service on both my systems and informing me of several concerns he wanted me to consider having repaired. Vinny gave me a detailed report including the discussion points we had. He suggested a float switch be installed on my drain pan since the older unit was installed upstairs behind the wall. The switch was installed to shut the unit down in case the drain line clogged and water started filling the pan. This of course would have caused a huge water damage occurrence to my upstairs ceiling. Ironically I had witnessed this before with my neighbor's house, I definitely didn't want this to happen to me. I appreciated Vinny noticing that the float switch was not in place and I agreed to have it installed. We also talked about other items related to the overall installation of that older unit that I needed to know for repairs/service in the future. Vinny also brought to my attention that my carbon monoxide detector was way past the 10 year life span for the device, I replaced both units I had in my house. Vinny said one thing that really stood out to me for anyone providing a service of any kind in my house, he said "I always look and think about anything that would be a concern or problem in my own house." I really appreciated that comment and I believed it from him after seeing and talking with him about several things related to my HVAC Systems. I will continue using Roscoe Brown in the future for servicing and maintaining my HVAC Systems. read more

Roscoe Brown gives exemplary, professional customer service. I called yesterday to get service around 9:00 A.m. for maintenance on my air conditioner. Bailey, the receptionist, scheduled someone to come out at 12 p.m. Bailey gave exemplary, professional service caring & drawing attention to every detail about my request for service with genuine concerted effort on her part in a prompt & efficient matter. This business ROCKS!!! Then the service tech is there at the scheduled time like clock work. Kevin Meredith, the tech, spent an entire hour and 20 minutes cleaning my air conditioner & prepping it for superior service for the rest of the summer and year. He proceeded to clean all my panels in the air conditioner. He cleaned out all sections of the air conditioner & washed all of its sections thoroughly several times executing a total clean up job with such professional expertise with the utmost care. He cleaned all the panels, then checked all the pressures and temperatures checking to see if was executing fully to the full maximum capacity. Roscoe Brown charged 59.00 for this maintenance fee. Really disappointed where this company has gone. 30 years ago when I moved into this town Roscoe Brown was the first name you heard when you needed assistance with HVAC..top notch and a trusted and competitive company. NO MORE. I have used them commercially and residential and up until the last two or three years they were great. Now over pricing, suspicious problems with units that you never had before the "performed maintenance" techs no longer take the time and effort to properly service a unit for summer use (clean coils, wash it down, inspect all the coils, etc...) and now you ALWAYS need at least a capacitor and in the last 3 or 4 inspections they have never taken the cover off the units. Just had my last deal with them. Said all my Freon was out and had a leak in the coil (did not have one before they performed maintenance) to my knowledge. Quoted $2722.00 dollars. Got it done turn key for $1075.00 and replacing all the Freon that "leaked" out. Last summer they tried to sell me an irrigation valve that goes for about $300. Roscoe Browns quote $1200.00!!! Unreal. Another 20 plus year customer...gone. Do yourself a favor and stay with the techs when they are working on your equipment...check and double check all pricing they give you. This is about their drivers not the service this company needs to train its drivers to move out of the left hand lanes on interstates if they are not passing vehicles in the right hand lane, this is illegal in TN Your drivers keep breaking the laws and almost caused a wreck Monday by not passing vehicles while in the left hand lane. TN code 55-8-204: On interstates and multilane divided highways with two or more lanes in each direction, you cannot operate your vehicle in the passing lane except when you are overtaking or passing a vehicle in a right-hand (non-passing) lane. * The "passing lane" is generally the far-left lane (or the lane next to it if the far-left is an HOV lane during restricted hours). * You must move back to the right lane(s) once you've passed. * It applies even if you're driving at or above the speed limit -- the key is whether you're actively passing, not your speed. The law was originally more limited (mainly for highways with 3+ lanes) but was expanded in 2020 to cover roads with 2+ lanes in each direction. Please teach your drivers to to get out of the passing Lanes and I have a drivers name that accused me off almost hitting him when I was passing him in the right hand lane when he was not passing so please teach your driver the basic standard driving laws! read more

Our old HVAC decided to quit on us during a 3 day 90 plus degree heat period. Roscoe Brown was called and they immediately sent out tech Ryan Mullins who tried everything possible to get the old unit to fire up. After doing his best we discussed that a new unit would probably be best, so Ryan set us up to be contacted by a sales rep to discuss a new unit. The next day first thing in the morning sales rep Josh "Walt" Walton called and came out. Josh was very informative and went over different options on units and payment plans. After deciding on a unit and plan I asked when I could expect the installation to be done, now this was Saturday afternoon and Josh told me first thing Monday morning. Well first thing Monday morning Chris Filyaw and his partner arrived at 9:30 am and had the old unit removed and new one installed by 12:30, wow they were fast, knowledgeable and left with everything clean. We have been very fortunate to have Bradley M. come to the house to service our multiple air units. He was very informative and helped me label my power box so I know later when I'm by myself, which one goes to what. He also went up into a attic crawl space that hasn't been serviced in a while due to shelving in the closet of our new home. It was nice to know the condition of the upstairs unit, it was as bad as we thought. Time to replace, he gave us our options with no pressure, but we decided it was better to get a new unit for upstairs. It was time. He is very friendly and enjoyable to work with. I appreciated all his knowledge. He explained anything I was curious about in general about how the air units works and if I wasn't sure about something he was willing to explain so I did. So, when we brought our system, it was a different company . Rosco brown bought them out. Almost hate this company. We didn't call for yearly check the first year after buying. A few months later our unit stopped working properly. We called and they had left a fitting a bit loose, so freon leaked down just enough to not work. They charged us for fix. Ok. Said that if we had yearly check they would have found it. Ok. So, we just had a check and they didn't have fitting to check freon levels, but wanted to be paid. They also didn't even go into basement to check on lines to see if there were any leakage. So this tells me that they just want the money and not actually do a checkup. My A/C wasn't cooling, I called for a service appointment, got an appointment that same day( on a Friday no less). My unit was 16 years old and was going to be very expensive to repair with no guarantees for no issues further down the road. The tech gave me an estimate for repairs and offered to have a comfort specialist come out and give me an estimate on a new unit. The comfort specialist was giving me an estimate that afternoon! I have never had that kind of quick quality service before. By the following Friday I had 2 installers at my house doing excellent work installing a new HVAC unit. I absolutely had the best tech ever. Tom made sure that I was taken care of. After receiving a tech from Tullahoma I was ready to never do business with Roscoe Brown again. Because that tech didn't do what he was suppose to do another tech was sent out and that tech was Tom. Roscoe Brown sent Joseph Henry to our house to determine what was wrong with our AC. Joseph found the issue and wrote out the estimate right on the spot! Less than two days later he was back and he fixed the issue. He called and let us know when he would be arriving. He was there exactly when he said. He explained everything and his processes. l recently had an issue with one of my HVAC units which had been installed on April 1,2021. Unit was blowing hot air instead of cool air and the temperature upstairs was 85 degree. This afternoon, Tommy N. from Roscoe Brown, came to look at my duct work that had come loose and to make the small repair. He was polite and very nice. He crawled into the crawl space and examined the duct I was concern with was full of water. He also told me that not only the duct work that I was concern with but the whole duct work system was filled with water. I told him that I was scheduled to have the complete duct work replace in a month. He took the initiative to call his supervisor and explained the situation. How often does a technician show up to your house early without being a current client?! Jim Wood did! That was my first sign we had called the right place. Secondly, he was extremely thorough in diagnosing the situation and the problem and did a great job explaining why we were having problems and what he needed to do to fix the issue.
