Love a good cracker crust and this place nailed it. Can't figure out why it only has 3 starts on yelp, it was really good! My Chicagoan hubby approved, and he's hard to please. Yummy sauce, crispy crust and good amount of mushrooms and sausage on our large pizza. Almost too much cheese, which made it a smidge rubbery. Place was clean and cool on a hot day. Rosati's hails from New York where the family opened a Italian restaurant back in the 1890's, and at the turn of the century, the Rosati's moved to Chicago where they opened another Italian restaurant featuring "Italian style pizza". I was in Wisconsin this past week, and I was lucky to find myself at a Rosati's pizza in Wisconsin......no need for me to go to Chicago for this pizza. After several days of eating only prime rib, steaks, ribs, or burgers........pizza sounded real good for a little change, and just so happens Rosati's was just down the road from where my hotel was. Located in Watertown Wisconsin, just head to the local Wal-Mart in Watertown, and you will find a bunch of other shops inside the strip mall, and that is where you will find Rosati's. For dinner, I went with a few of my coworkers to this little pizza restaurant. I must say it was kind of cool, as the restaurant displayed a lot sports memorabilia from Chicago - (Cubs, Bears), as well as sports memorabilia from Wisconsin like the Green Bay Packers. When we entered this establishment, we were greeted right away, and menus were dropped off. Shortly after drink orders were taken, and dropped off quickly. Then it was time to order our meals. For me, I decided on a specialty pizza so I ordered the Rosati's "MONSTER" Pizza (medium). What is a Rosati's "MONSTER" Pizza? The "MONSTER" pizza consist of the following ingredients = Gourmet Italian Sausage, Pepperoni, Mushroom, Onion, Green Pepper, Canadian Bacon, Meatball, Black Olives & Green Olives, Sliced Tomato, and Bacon on top. So folks.......you can clearly see, basically you get the whole kitchen sink on this pizza! You can get this pizza with a thin crust, or you get it the pizza with a "double dough" for ($2.00) more, which I believe is like a deep dish Chicago Style pizza. I ordered my pizza with a thin crust, as I didn't feel like too much carbs from the bread. What can I say about the pizza? ONO cuz! Simply deeeeeeeeelicious! The pizza was loaded with the toppings, and they did not scrimp of the toppings! The thin crust was perfect, as it was not overpowering on dough which I liked. I have had some of my worst experiences with this restaurant. Last night I didn't even eat because my that they delivered was terrible. I order an gyro along other items (bill was 50.00) . But the meat on the gyro was over cook thinly slice and most of all unrecognizable. When I first got to open my food I thought they forgot it because It was wrapped tightly in foil (being from Chicago never seen a gyro fully wrapped in foil ) to the point that I thaught it was "a" single breadstick in there. My pita Bread was crunchy burned and split in half. I called them an got the manager on duty last night (6/23/2019 at about 7:30 to 9:30) I stated that I would like a refund his response was not insuring for me all ready but gave benefit of doubt because, he stated that he will bring my refund. Well worth the drive over. Was craving some good pasta and the Penne pasta with meat sauce really hit the spot. The sauce was delicious. The kids shared a kids pizza (one kids pizza was plenty for my two kids) and they loved it! We also ordered a beef sandwich which was getting rave reviews too. My husband and I have ordered from Rosati's a lot, and have never been disappointed until tonight. He ordered the Cheef sandwich, which he's always enjoyed. Tonight it was a glorified 6" sub, and he didn't receive the fries that were supposed to come with it. We also ordered a handful of appetizers, which were incredibly disappointing as well. We did get the additional order of fries we paid for, only to receive about 11 fries in total. The jalapeno poppers were ice cold and had a different overpowering cheese than the standard, and we couldn't even eat them. It had the texture of cottage cheese. The outside crust was doughy and not at all reminiscent of Chicago Deep Dish. I've spent most of my life in Chicago and this is as close as I can get now to Chicago style pizza. Would I go to Rosatis if I still lived in the city? No, probably not - but that doesn't mean this isn't one of the, if not the best, Chicago style pizza chain. Service here was an absolute delight! Friendly, fast, efficient. Great for families! I prefer their thin crust to their other styles and their dough bites are fluffy, delicious, little pillows of heavenly goodness. Good god I could make a meal of those precious little bites! The portion is beyond generous! My one and only complaint - which won't be an issue for most - is the candy that is offered to the kids. We have food sensitivities and there are certain candy items are three-year-old and 19-month-old can't have so that led to a bit of a meltdown as we weren't expecting it and couldn't ask ahead of time it to offer candy. It would be really really great and much appreciated if the servers would ask - "can your kids have a piece of C-A-N-D-Y?" Would have saved quite a few tears. He secured the loan with the restaurant he owned with its fixtures, equipment and name Michaelangelos. He then went on vacation and never came back. I've been looking for him for years and finally found him and found out he owned 2 restaurants in New Berlin and Watertown Wisconsin called Rosati's. He used my money to purchase these restaurants. He has blocked my phone calls and won't take my calls. I have Parkinson's and I need that money to live. I physically cannot work anymore. He lied to me and frauded me. Well my 1st encounter w/ this place...I simply walked out! It was the middle of the afternoon..there was maybe 5 ppl dinning it, and I stood there for 5-10 mins w/ the waitress looking right at me!! We arrived at 830pm on a Saturday, and were seated promptly. We noted at the front door a "Saterday Special" entree item. We kind of wondered if the spelling was supposed to be funny? There was only one other table (4 people). They don't have a liquor license, so I guess that's why they don't have a bar to sit at. The ambiance was similar to a cafeteria. They were playing Disney music the entire hour we spent there, and the three large flat screens on the walls were playing the same sports channel. Our server asked us if we wanted any drinks, so we ordered off the freestanding drink menu on the table that was marked up with a sharpie pen, but didn't have any prices. Our server had to go back and ask someone how much the drinks were. They were priced lower than average, so we ordered a "moscato" and a "lambrusco" without knowing what brand or country of origin. They were served in a white wine glasses, and almost filled to the top (a large portion for $3.49), but the wine had no body, and no character. They do not have chianti for some reason. We ordered a side salad and garlic puffs for an appetizer. They came promptly. The salad greens were fresh, but one of the 3 cherry tomatoes was partially rotten. I set it aside. The garlic puffs were hot and pretty tasty, and come with marinara. They give you a good portion. The server brought more marinara when we were running low. We ordered a deep dish pizza to split. The pizza took a little while, but still arrived quicker than I would have expected. When it arrived, it looked odd. It wasn't symmetrical like the ones at Lou Malnatis, Gino's East, or Uno's, just to give a comparison to some standard shape. The pizza was sloppy to eat. The spinach was put on top of the cheese, so the oven just dried it out. The flavors were good, and the sausage was great. The dough just didn't seem like a deep dish Chicago pizza to me. The pizza is very filling, and they gave us a box to-go. They accept Entertainment coupons. My summary of this location would be that the servers are friendly, the place has no atmosphere, the food is ok, and not overpriced.
