Stopped in on a recent business trip to Bloomington. Was hoping to have some Chicago style deep dish, as I never actually get to Chicago and was hoping this would be close. It did not disappoint. I decided I would dine in, they had a small TV with a football game playing. I quickly found the Chicago deep dish on the menu and ordered a small with Sausage, Pepperoni and Jalapeños with a drink. The bill was about $25, which seemed high until the pizza was delivered to my table. I guess it was a 12" pizza that was about 3" deep and probably weight 10 lbs. I was only able to eat 2 of the 8 slices while there. Good think my hotel room had a fridge. The pizza was great. Cheese was melted perfectly and the sauce blended perfectly with the heat from the peppers. I would definitely come here again, maybe with some help next time. I warmed up 2 more slices in the oven the next night at home, and am freezing the other half of the pizza. So after the initial sticker shock, I think it is well priced. My family ordered delivery from Rosati's this evening. We ordered delivery through the Yelp app. Placing the order was smooth. I ordered two calzones, the three cheese baked penne, and breadsticks. The estimated delivery time provided when I submitted my order was 45 to 60 minutes. It took a little over an hour for the order to arrive, which was fine. The first thing the delivery driver said to me when I opened the door was the total amount of the bill. I told her that I had already paid by credit card when I submitted my order. She appeared a little confused, even though the receipt that she handed me said "paid" at the bottom. The food was decent, but nothing extraordinary. The insides of the calzones were not evenly spread within the calzones and we felt that a more consistent spreading of the toppings would improve the calzones. The calzones were much bigger than we expected, which was a nice surprise. Had I realized they were this big, we would have only ordered one! We will know next time! I felt that the taste of the food was good, but a bit bland. I desired a little more flavor. Claims to be Chicago-style. So what is the verdict? WannaBe or RealDeal? My Vote: RealDeal Why: Tastes like Giordanos. If you don't know what I'm talking about then you probably think Monicals is good pizza. Coming from Chicago I really miss Chicago Style Deep Dish Pizza, so I was ecstatic to learn Rosati's was coming to town. I've never had their thin crust and probably never will. Order this and you won't be disappointed. Promise. Worth the money and the wait, and to show those who swear by Monical's, what a real pizza tastes like. Chicago Style (NOT the double dough, some people get confused) Tip: Too many ingredients can make a deep dish watery or soupy, just a characteristic of this type of pizza so I recommend sticking to your two favorites. I prefer sausage and mushroom. No need for tomatoes, trust me on this... and if you like it veggie style, spinach and mushroom are a great combo. The restaurant itself isn't very big to sit in so order ahead and pick it up. You will NEED a fork and knife on a real plate to eat this. Enjoy! read more

So after hyping it for a year I finally broke down and listened to a friend and we ordered from here. Well the pizza arrived earlier then time said (it was an hour and half wait time said it arrived about an hour after order) but then the driver hands me what's suppose to be my mozzarella sticks and cannolis. When we get inside and open it up it was some pasta thing so I run out to catch the driver explain what I had and what this is. My friend brings the bag out (because I literally took off it the door to catch him) he then hands us another bag ok no problem. Get back inside open up another pasta thing so same thing I take off after driver friend starts bagging food back up. The driver said he will be right back. After 15 min I call the store the lady was rude and was like ya whatever he's coming back now finally 30 min later and 10 after original projected delivery time I get my cold mozzarella sticks that taste like somebody tried to heat them up AGAIN by tossing into the fryer real quick and some kinda warm cannolis. We love Roasattis pizza, especially the Chicago style. It does indeed taste like Giordano's. The crust has a sweet dough-y-ness we adore. We only order take out. No complaints on take out service. This place uses plenty of cheese, which I prefer. read more

Rosati's pizza is my favorite. However, I don't feel the customer service at the store is great. At a recent visit, they wouldn't honor a coupon that was online specifically for this location and that hadn't expired. Instead, the worker argued that she didn't know about that coupon and could only honor a lesser valued deal that was printed nowhere, even when showed the online coupon. read more

Decent pizza. I've ordered from Rosati's several times during my visits to the area and I've never been disappointed in the pizza. I'd say they can improve in other areas though. Delivery- At least half the time, they're late with the pizza. Not a significant delay but if they've told me "within the hour" it usually takes them a little OVER an hour (5-10 min more). Communication- almost every time I call, it seems like the person on the other end has no idea what is on the menu and seems like they've never taken an order in their life. I called on Tuesday the 29th of May and the girl on the phone had me repeat my name, phone number, address, etc at least three times. The phone line was fine, she admitted she was "messing up" when keying the info. Sides- the breadsticks are mediocre at best. The desserts are meh. They still get four stars because it IS a pizza place and their pizza is GOOD. If they can improve in the other areas, they'd be all around amazing in my book. read more

Don't order online! The online checkout process gave me an error so I called and asked if the order went through and was told no, it had not, so I ordered over the phone. It turns out it had gone through and I was charged for it. I called on Friday, the day I ordered and explained the situation and was told that the manager would take care of it on Monday. I called again on Monday and got the same "When the manager gets here..." line. As it is now Tuesday I ended up having to dispute the charge through my bank to get it taken care of. The food was very good, I had an italian beef sandwich and sausage pizza. This is the second time I've had problems at the Bloomington location. I let the first time go, but not this time. I walked in and said I was going to order a takeout. After the gal finished taking my order she asked if this was a dine in or carry out. I told her again this would be a carry out. She then told me it would be 25 - 30 minute wait. I said okay and went to my truck to wait. I set the timer in my phone for the appropriate time. The timer went off and I went in expecting my pizza what I got was ahhh we haven't put it in yet. It is kind of expensive. My experience inside this place has not been good. Lower the prices and hire staff that understand customer service. Their punch card discount is not worth the hassle of holding onto the card, which is unfortunate for them because its not tempting someone who loves their pizza to go more often. We have enjoyed Rosati's for years...from living in the Chicago area to the Bloomington location. Have even stuck with Rosati's when competitors came to town with a pretty good pizza. However, the last few orders have been poor. In fact, the last order was cause for us to never order again. Our pizza was burned to the point of not even being able to eat the toppings. In the past, we've let it go, but this time we called and let them know. They agreed to send us another one...it was burned as well. We picked off what toppings we could, and threw 90% of it into the trash. It's a shame, really, but, they've lost our business. read more

We ordered Chicago style sausage with mushroom and there were maybe MAYBE 3 tiny pieces of sausage on each slice. It was nothing but disgusting sugary tomato and they put their mushrooms on too late. We placed our order from a local motel... their website promises delivery in about 40 minutes. After 40 minutes with no delivery, we called to see when we could expect our pizza, and were told it was on it's way out... the delivery guy had just left. A little while later he arrives with a heavy box..... We ordered a Chicago style deep dish pizza. We got a half raw, gummy crusted (IF you can call it a crust, seems like a frozen dough to me) something with lots of cheese, but what appears to be (and tastes like) a couple cans of tomato soup on top and about 2 pieces of tasteless sausage per slice. $27 for what is, is my 56 years, the nastiest slab of so called pizza I have ever had. We have had Chicago-style pizza... this is so far beneath that that it's not worth one star. I called the manager and he was surprised that we were unhappy with it, offered to give us a credit or make another pizza. No way would we want to wait over an hour for something like that again, nor would we be willing to waste another penny or our time on another pizza from there again, even with a credit. This is the first time in 22 years and lots of pizza that I have watched my husband dump a pizza in the trash with only 3 slices missing.... and one of those slices was only 1/2 consumed. read more

I purchased a seizethedeal voucher for a pizza from this location. It doesn't expire until 2018. However, when I called to redeem the voucher today, they said they refuse to honor the vouchers they sold. Why? They just don't feel like honoring them anymore. Unbelievable. They Have Messed up our Delivery Order 3 Times , Always the same thing. We Order Pasta dinner with MEATBALLS, we tried online ordering and then calling the order in yet they still Charge us and never deliver them. We used to be frequent customers of Rosati's. They offered deals through the Pantagraph and to save money wewould buy a bunch up. After placing an order tonight the actual owner of the business "Phil" called me back and accused me of reprinting coupons to steal from them. We printed off all our receipts and gave them to the delivery driver. We will never order from them again... Only rated so people actually see this... Rosati's is where I go for authentic pizza with quality ingredients that is affordable. I know there are a number of local places in town but Rosati's always delivers. They are quick with online or call in orders. I hear they have great delivery too. Highly recommend any of their pizza and their boneless wings. Terrible customer service! I called at 9:40 p.m on a Thursday night to place a delivery order and they close at 10:00. They informed me they were no longer taking delivery orders for the night . I proceed to place a order for pickup and they then informed me the kitchen is cleaned already and closed at 9:40! 20 minutes before they close. We were in town for a conference and this joint just happened to be within walking distance of our hotel. My colleague got a pizza and I had pasta. My pasta was good. It was lacking a bit in salt. The pizza however, was amazing. My colleague got the deep dish pizza and it was awesome. I'm pretty sure the thing weighed 10 pounds. We got a large and between the three of us, had half left when we were done. I'd definitely recommend this pizza spot to others looking for some great food. read more

Normally, my experience with Rosati's is okay, but this was hands down the worst experience I've had with Rosati's. Most likely will not return as there are many other pizza restaurants in town that make better pizza and a way better price. We placed our order online, like usual, we were emailed a confirmation and a pick up time, then received a text updating the pickup time by 10 minutes. No big deal. The order was $70 so I understood the time change. Upon arriving to pick up my order (about 50 minutes after ordering) and they hadn't even read the online order or even began preparing the order. The cashier said no one checked the online orders so it wasn't put in for the kitchen to make, but she could put it in now and my food would be ready in 20 minutes. 30 minutes later, my order was ready. I arrived again to pick up my order and the manager on duty was at the register. He proceeded to tell me that my order had $23 in overage charges, that the online system didn't charge me, for pizza toppings. The manager then said he wanted to cancel my online order and take my full payment right there. I argued, politely, explaining that the online system automatically charges the overage, I've experienced this multiple times and showed the manager emails I have received, showing the difference and price changes. The manager refused to take this answer and would not give me my food without taking the extra $23 in payment. So being hungry and frustrated for waiting so long, I just paid the $23 and told him I would call if I got double charged. Well GUESS WHAT, I did get double charged, like I told him I was going to. So I called the restaurant back immediate that night and he told me he would return/void my extra payment. He never returned the payment, so I spent over $100 on an 18" pizza, cheese bread, fried pickles and a salad. When I called the restaurant this morning, the cashier said no manager would be in until 3pm to help me with my issue. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL SERVICE. read more
