On their website, you can sign up for a free intro class where they give you an intro to TM for free. From there, you pay for a four-day course. The fee you pay is based on your income. During the course, they teach you the TM technique, how to do it correctly, etc. This is the only TM center in Houston and it's inside the loop. They have a parking lot and they share the space with several other businesses. It's not the nicest building but it does the job. My instructor, Paula, and her husband were both great. I had a wonderful experience and I would recommend TM to almost anyone!

Our sound-bath meditation was on point from the individual who speaks through the process and the breathing techniques during. I don't even know if I fell asleep or not lol. i was that relaxed. I was that comfortable and appreciated the me time and peaceful sounds. At one point you do hear the crashing sounds of a gong or horn (sorry first time and don't know the terminology) that were a little too loud that is what startled me and I was not able to go back into the concentration. Only downfall was they forgot to give me my blanket to cover up with so I was freezing the entire time. It's not a place you can raise your hand or yell out. I appreciate they do provide lockers, that you can personalize during your visit, with included phone chargers, clean bathrooms and a selection of warm teas.

I arrived at 1pm and there were several other folks there for the event. After signing in at the desk, the staff walked me over to the locker and showed me where to keep my things. After everyone arrived, one of the ladies gave us an intro to meditation and then we watched a 7 min video about the science behind mindfulness and meditation. The video needs to be updated as there was a lack of diversity (e.g, age, race, etc.) and that turned me off slightly. After the video, we were walked into the room, asked to grab a blanket and got into the hammock for the 45 minute sound bath and meditation. I serve on a board for an organization that's focused on mindfulness but this was my first time participating in a full on practice. It was very calming and allowed me to really get centered. The time went by fast and our instructor set the right pace. They offer a free session for first timers so I will be taking advantage of that. The studio is very clean, and they offered tea and other refreshments. But most importantly, there's plenty of parking.

We conversed about why I was there and her vibe was easy and honest: like talking to a wide friend. She checked my chakras then went to work. The overall experience was comfortable and clarifying. I left and was feeling better for days after. Often time we store energy in our bodies when stressed, triggered, or traumatized which causes blockage. I'm thankful for her healing work in releasing areas of blockage yet, getting to know me first. I parked under the freeway, there's a good-sized parking lot, you just walk across the road, and the sudio is walking distance from the parking lot. I couldn't figure out any other place to park, but I didn't spend a lot of time looking. I can tell this place was made by a yogi for yogis. What an intentionally created space. You can tell a lot of thought and positive energy was crafted into the studio. It's very peaceful and calming. Good vibes only. I believe the owner used to be at 4 dragons (for those that know the yoga scene), which I have heard about, but had never been to. I took "Yoga Wind Down" with Naomi C. and it was soo good. YIN lovers dream. She has this beautiful, soothing voice. She was subbing for someone else. I need to find her other classes! I would love to take her again. I was not at all surprised to find that Victoria was booked out (because she is THAT GOOD). However, the universe brought me an opportunity to connect with Simply Reiki's, massage therapist, Angelica Torres, for a Sunday morning appointment. I had never experienced a Reiki treatment with massage therapy (I added the hot stones + aromatherapy) and OMG it was surreal! It was the quiet, physical healing that I needed in that moment of sitting with utter chaos in my nervous system. What also blew my mind was Angelica's intuitive gifts. I was not expecting that, but she read me like a book before she even laid hands on me, and without me telling her one word about what I was going through. Her presence was gentle, grounded, and comforting like a soothing balm. Her energy, and her words were incredibly powerful and validating and exactly what I needed to hear that day. I am so glad I finally gave it a try. Lisa did an amazing job of creating a relaxed atmosphere as she educated us on all the benefits of steaming. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. Lisa explained the properties of each herb that was being used and did a great job of preparing us so we knew what to expect. The V-steam was marvelous. I felt so relaxed and pampered and I noticed the benefits immediately. It was also a great bonding experience for my friend and I.
